I can remember steely Dan doing this type of track. Very intuitive and very fluid. Will we ever find music such as this on the hit pop music charts again. The 70s were the most impressive exploration of all types of music. It gave us all types of NEW experiences to groove on. So much joy in that decade of music. From split town jazz to free fusion and the many available forms of Fusion and speed angst to jive on. This music and melody is for short and determined phrasing that doesn't make for mistakes, but allows for the changes modal and other wise. Simple rhythm and easy going drum beat to hold it down while several musicians just flash and dash for the sensibilities of the music itself.
i've been trying to phrase in the C# and the Eb to the Fmaj7 a few turns until some part of my brain told me to just waffle around with the corresponding minor scales and it would be ok. Then i read the comments. The track was cool, thank for the long jam =)
Thanks. My teacher set me this as homework. Only allowed to use the 2nd position minor scales! It's a great track for getting to know how to play with key changes.
The one a section or b section sounds like a. Studio ultra clean. Rendition of all along the watchtower with just a touch of funky popcorn. Notes to. Be sort of bonus stocatto that is. Sweet when. Rhythm overlap or effects pedals create an additional rhythmic point in the flow. What was an incident then turns out it sounds proper when looking back on this groove in a retrospective sense Has been transformative this is . Rather upbeat acquiescent silver surfer dream sequence type ice cold smoothie of a groove But totally uninhibited I actually thought it sounded overly simplistic and. Ultra clean. Yet as the sections unfolded in my mind I realized that this is a brilliant work of genius And futuristic sound. The chord progression is superb however simplistic it is at every turn clear intent. Progressive in every sense. Intelligent. Pretty. Good work. Keep it up the future depends on people like you. It would have to fade out at the end cuz this a section and b section never seem to completely resolve. They just keep pushing or pulling towards the next change
Carlo Peluso What are you.... some kind of intellectual with good taste? Appears that way :) This is really nice, man. I'd never known the F7+ means same as Fmaj7. Whenever I saw it, I was really uncomfortable with the 7+. Thanks for that good news :) My father was an encyclopedia of music theory in both classical and jazz disciplines. He'd transcribe chord charts for me using the superscript triangle between root note and its embellishing scale degree. I've always written out chord charts for my band using that. OH yeah..... forgot to say that whenever I see a + sign in chord I've always thought it meant "augmented" so F7+ arpeggio'ed was F A C# E..... major 3rd, the 5th is raised, and the major 7 (E). opened a LOT of doors thank you!!
Travis Matte That's a tough call on the F7+. I think most reading musicians would agree that F7+ means F7+5. If a single symbol is going to be used to represent a maj.7, it would be F∆7.
what ever iy is F7 or Fmaj7 to the G#7 the fucking track sounds good because when it comes to the guitar solo people hear that more then the little bull shit off notes lol sounds great i rip on them thanks
i'm afraid the chords are not quite correct, its not F7+, its Fmaj7. same goes for G#7+, also a major chord. if the + here stands for mayor, it is misleading, because + indicates an augmented fifth. yet a pretty cool backing track.
MrRuggo You are of course correct. It's a shame there is no universal convention for naming chords on jazz charts. I've also seen Cmaj7 chords written as C(#7) and C (triangle) 7, but I've never seen 7+ for maj7 before
Hello from France ; great job . I post a comment and i talk about you in my blog dominiquecheviet.blogspot.fr . Your backing tracks are very helpful to practice . ( and they sound really good !! )
I see it's been 7 years, but if you get the chance...PLEASE MORE JAMS IN 2-conveniently labelled-KEYS.
This is perfect.

Amazing BAcking track...
yes this's simple fusion ... thanks carlo..
Cool man.
very nice track
nice track
Bueno el backing track, me recordo a los soundtrack de Megaman, sobretodo del X5 xDDDD
Saludos!!!!
great :)
nice change!
Yes, and in the second set of chords, Cm Bd and G#maj7, the G#maj7 should be Ab. Key sigs do not mix #'s and b's.
+KerryandStephanie Rottacker why is G#maj7 incorrect?
Because of the tonality, it is represented using b accidentals.
You have a point here.
@@sventenful because we are in the key of Cm- a key with 3 flats. one of them is Ab. the G in this key is G natural
This is SO MUCH FUN !!!
Right? 8======)
Carlo Peluso
What are you.... some kind of intellectual with good taste?
Appears that way :) This is really nice, man.

thank you!!
Honestly, F7+ should be a dominant chord with a sharp 5, so you're not wrong. F7#5.
Agreed,
To me the symbol of a major 7 is either M or a triangle. + is for #5
FRANK GAMBALE! AWESOME
nice
This shit is amazing!
Aminor/pentatonic for the first 3 chords, Cminor/pentatonic for the other three.
All I can think of is the burning for you melody
The Rippingtons!
what is it that makes this work? its great
Reminds me of some old Frank Gamble songs.
Great track! Can I use it for my improv in my channel? TIA!
Yes of course!
Hi friends. please replace F7+ with Fmaj7, same for G#7+ with G#maj7
cmq no, anche in italiano si scrive fmaj7.........
f+ sarebbe aumentato anche se è comunque piu corretto scriverlo diversamente
No problem dude !
My ears were like "no! he is wrong!" then I read this. OK…
Yeah. F7+ is normally for F dominant 7 sharp 5.
Cool jam! A couple of theoretical errors, though. The F7+ should be an Fmaj7, and the G#7 should be an Abmaj7.
Major can be symbolized as a + so he's not wrong there. I do agree however the G# should be an Ab.
Travis Matte That's a tough call on the F7+. I think most reading musicians would agree that F7+ means F7+5. If a single symbol is going to be used to represent a maj.7, it would be F∆7.
Ah, I learned something today. Grazie!
I hear a"hint", of Hill Street Bluesishness?! Just a teeny-tiny-eeny meenie-wee-bit!
Carlos, exelente backing! me dejas usarlo para un jam? poniendote los creditos tuyos? gracias hermano.
+Marcelo Yakko yes of course, bye
+Carlo Peluso (erosulpalco) gracias! abrazo
BTW very Journey sounding very cool i can hear Steve Perry singing to this some how
I thought exactly the same thing when I heard this. Reminds me of Who's Cryin' Now :)
what ever iy is F7 or Fmaj7 to the G#7 the fucking track sounds good because when it comes to the guitar solo people hear that more then the little bull shit off notes lol sounds great i rip on them thanks
ça ressemble à un titre de Gambale non?
Dear Carlo great track, can I use this track for a recording session.
Greetz Antonio.
sure! goodwork!
Carlo Peluso Thank you !
Fucking sweet
what scales to use?
Ab7 (not G#7) if we're in the key of Cm. Nice track though.
i'm afraid the chords are not quite correct, its not F7+, its Fmaj7. same goes for G#7+, also a major chord. if the + here stands for mayor, it is misleading, because + indicates an augmented fifth. yet a pretty cool backing track.
Yep. I was looking out for #5 too. It's confusing to use + when maj7 is intended.
czgibson If im not msitaken the symbols indicating a certain chord type may vary from country to country.
MrRuggo
You are of course correct. It's a shame there is no universal convention for naming chords on jazz charts. I've also seen Cmaj7 chords written as C(#7) and C (triangle) 7, but I've never seen 7+ for maj7 before
the + sign means augmented 5th, which is not what you have here
the G#7+ should be an Abmaj7. the note G# doesn't exist in the key of C minor
Forgive me, I don't know music theory very well - but it seems we can alternate between C major and C minor to cover the two keys?
C major's relative minor is A minor. It is essentially just the 2nd position of the A minor scale
Divinity through simplicity v
Ma muoio son citazioni all ispettore gadget ahahah
not G# ... is a Ab
perfect!
Hello from France ; great job . I post a comment and i talk about you in my blog dominiquecheviet.blogspot.fr . Your backing tracks are very helpful to practice . ( and they sound really good !! )
thanks dominique!
I guess in this key second part should be spelled as Cm Bb Abmaj7 to be enharmonically correct
Bb to G#
...Smh
Best speed ever of all over here!!
