    Love the 10th Gen to be honest. They still have supporting aftermarket parts. As compared to the 11th Gen it’s so limited.

    Bought a salvage 2011 S with the sunroof, pretty awesome car, has never asked for anything more than change of oil and regular maintenance parts. Only wish it would’ve been a manual. 133K and still going strong. It may look a bit dated nowadays, but it looks way better than it’s contemporaries like the Elantra or Civic IMO

    another good vid.. in reply, just wanna say.. ,my very first car was a 4th Gen 1980 Corolla (hatchback) and I loved it… repainted & made some other minor mods.. drove it until maintenance costs exceeded the value.. (developed engine and exhaust leaks and such) then i owned a few other cars.. 88 Toyota Celica hatchback.. then a Honda, a 1.8 turbo Jetta 5speed, a Lexus 5speed, then Infiniti..and now, back to my current car.. a 10th gen 5speed 2009 XRS 2.4, which i’ve owned longer than any other car prior.. i agree it’s one of the easiest to work on and most reliable. I’ve modded mine in a few ways, not as many as yours, but I really do love driving it. The only thing I really wish is that there were more aftermarket taillights available and I wish I could do more with the front grill than is currently possible.. anyway, that’s my 2 cents on the topic.. i’ll be keeping my 10th gen for as long as possible.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It just shows you that Toyotas will always be the best choice! And I agree, i wish there were some more after market support, because like you said the tail lights you have pretty much 1 option. And the grille can’t do anything with it.

    Hey Brandon, Amir here from Pakistan. I recently bought this car few months ago. it's on my Wishlist for quite some time but couldn't get it due to budget constraints. I got it for around 9K (USD equivalent amount from PKR). This is very successful corolla here in our region too. Although, there is a difference. Mine is 1.3 Manual called GLI. And it seems that only the corolla in Pakistan got the 1.3L engine. I would imagine it’s just as good at the 1.8L, just doesn’t have as much power as the 1.8L. I know in Europe they also have a 1.6L. So every country seems to have a different version of this engine!

    The main dig on mine is the 4spd auto. Not my choice. I got it used last yr. Garage queen, woman owned 41k miles. If you got up a small incline on the interstate it kicks it down 2 gears and holds it for a bit. Other than that it's good. My previous gen with the 1zz burned a little oil. It currently has 310k miles. I m on my 4th corolla. 89gts, 94 1.8, 04, 12 S. They are the best. The 89gts had the 4age was a 7200rpm screamer. Other complaints is 132hp and 2800lbs is pathetic. Im more into having the latest cars but this corollas have good aftermarket parts tho, just a little too basic for my liking

      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the newest cars are always really nice, with many features.
      But what’s nice about being basic, is I do t have to worry about many things breaking or going wrong!

    Sup bro? What’s the engine code on your 1.8L if you don’t mind my asking? Just doing some research on 10th gen corolla engines specifically on the ZZ and AZ family, before buying one myself. Cause I’ve read that they’re kinda an oil burner. Tnx!

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I will probably say every 1.8L engine you look at, will say something about oil consumption. They all start to after a while if the engine didn’t have regular oil changes.
      But the 1ZZ and 2ZZ are really good engines, but are found on the 9th gen corolla. With the 2ZZ being a high revving engine, that was only found in the XRS model corolla and Matrix.
      And the 1ZZ was replaced by the 2ZR engine on the corollas in 2009. Which is the one that is in my car currently. Some people will say that the 2ZR is one of the best engines in the corollas. And others say the 1ZZ is. But both really good engines.
      While the 2AZ engine which was normally out of the Camry. (Not sure which gen Camry) but they also stuck that engine in the 2009 and 2010 corolla XRS. This engine probably is the worst when it comes to burning oil. But again if taken car of, it would last longer.

      @johndoug4794 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrandonStellmach such a helpful insight! Currently, I’m about to have the opportunity of owning a corolla with a 3zz-fe engine since I’m based in Asia. It’s a bit reassuring knowing that the 3zz-fe is not rebadged 2az-fe. Cause back here it’s costly to have a engine rebuilt on a car. Thanks bro!

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johndoug4794 it makes since that you are able to get a 3ZZ, because in US, we were never offered that as an option. But from I have read the 3ZZ is very similar to the 1ZZ. So it should be a really good engine!

      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have been looking into getting a 9th gen XRS, they look like a bunch of fun with the 2ZZ engine!
      But the 10th gen is probably a bit more reliable of a drive train even at high milage then the 9th gen. Because I have heard that they start burning oil around the 150k miles.
