Bless your heart for not seeing The Wizard of Oz while growing up. There's another great rap battel of Alice vs Dorothy that was a predecessor to this one that you must see. All the characters get into it. Contrary to popular the belief, none of the convicted "witches" in Salem in 1692 were burned at the stake. They were either hung or crushed.

Salem Witch Trials in Salem Massachusetts is what they were referring to. The Salem witch trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of people accused of witchcraft in colonial Massachusetts between February 1692 and May 1693. More than 200 people were accused. Thirty people were found guilty, 19 of whom were executed by hanging

Thank you for reacting to this one; most reactors seem to have overlooked this battle. Fwiw, Dorothy's house fell on the Wicked Witch of the East, who's normally unnamed and West's sister. We learn almost nothing else about East; she's just a pair of feet under a house wearing some nice slippers. Glinda was either the Good Witch of the South (according to the books) or just the Good Witch (in the MGM movie). The books did have a Good Witch of the North (eventually named Tattypoo), but she was such a minor character, the movie simplified everything by combining the roles of both Good Witches into one.

Dorothy's house fell on the Wicked Witch of the East. Glenda was the Good Witch that told Dorothy how to get home. You did more than I did by reading the Alice book.

It wasn't Glinda the Good Witch who was killed by a house dropping on her, it was the Wicked Witch of the East. Now, I'm not sure what I was told by an old English professor about symbolism was accurate, but IIRC the Wicked Witch of the West represented either specific politicians of the 1800s era, or something to do with fires and arable farmland in that region - note that she was killed by water (which would make sense for fires/farmland). Meanwhile the Wicked Witch of the East represented East Coast businesses and was killed by the house - civilization/laws I assume. Again, I'm trying to remember one class from a college course from 23 years ago, so I might be misremembering.

Mrs Claus is played by the same actress who does the Queen of Hearts. And both Poppins and the Witch of the West are played by Whitney Avalon, who is the one making the Princess Rap Battles (and is usually one of the main characters).
