- Hello friends,
Hopefully, this video is a little more lighthearted and fun than the last one 🥹 In this vlog, I spent more time with family, caught up with friends, and enjoyed my daily life living in Guangzhou. As I go back every year, I hope to periodically bring you more China vlogs in the future. Also please let me know if you have any suggestions on how I can make these vlogs better, either more fun or informative! Hope you enjoy ♥️
xx,
Julia

i don't know if it's just me, but all your life in China vlogs makes me cry. thank you for giving us a glimpse of love in your life, Julia.
Nooo don’t cry 😭 thank you for watching and I’m so grateful that I get the chance to share this part of my life with you all ❤
@@juliafei
New subscriber here.👍
No, me too 😭
she shoots out these touching little pearls, of what a good friend calls "Gentle Wisdom", and there goes the water works! Fortunately for me, I'm a tuff guy, so I only watch JuliaF vids whilst in privacy:)
cheers!
ron:)
It’s so nice and touching of you making a photo book for your grandma!
Hoping to make her more when I visit again in the future ❤
The photo album was such a sweet gesture for your grandma. Love seeing your family in the vlogs. Your dad is adorable 😁.
thank you! will definitely be sharing all of these comments with them 😊❤
he is isn't he!?!
The last part made me cry! Miss my grandma so much if only heaven has a number that I could call to, I would call everyday.
Now your comment is gonna make me cry 😭😭😭
@@juliafei 🥺🥺🥺💗💗💗
There's so much misinformation in the US about what its like to live in China but your vlogs have shown us how lovely it is and also the coffee looks so good!! Thank you for sharing such a beauiful place with us.
Also grandma roasting your hair cut was so funny. My granny would do that to me all the time lol
It’s always so hard to get the full/most accurate picture of any situation. But I’m glad that I can bring you all a new perspective 😊 🫶
She showed herself eating and drinking coffee.. not exactly doing hard hitting journalism. You can travel vlog around China's top cities without issues.. Get close to dicey topics or "minority" areas and that's where the problem starts. So not fair to talk about so called Chinese misinformation in the US when she never got even close to some of the topics that could bring her problem for reporting in China, like criticizing the only party they have there. To be fair, the US is a hypocrite when they criticize China for most stuff but that doesn't make it US disinformation.
julia's authenticity really shines through with these china vlogs😭you can just tell that she's a kind soul and that's why so many people stay by her side🫂also, charlie's tea give our girl a sponsorship!!!
thank you for your kind words 🥹🥰 and yes Charlie’s tea pleaseeeee
I think you and your dad are so cute together. He looks happier in this vlog than any of your earlier ones. Good to see.
Thank you 🥹 I didn’t notice but you are so right. I hope that he can be happy everyday ❤
Julia! 🥹🥹 Thank you for sending us gentle reminders to love on our loved ones, while they are still here! ❤️
A reminder that we all need from time to time ❤
That was the sweetest, I’m glad your grandma loved it.
Me too 🫶
Guangzhou is one of the most beautiful cities that I have been to. The very last few sentences of the video touched me a lot.
I loved story time with dad
Me too 🥹
you are just so cute - and your grandma is so cute being so pissed off because she loves you all so much. she must really miss her husband and be so full of all different emotions but i love how it just comes out as pissed off. The photobook idea is so cute and also all the different reasons she was so mad are so cute.
You can’t blame a girl for trying to lighten up the mood 😂
and also your dad is really adorable indeed - I was reading some other comments and its true. what a legend
he’s truly the best 🥰
These are my favorite vlogs you do!!! Your Dad has so much knowledge. The photo book/album was so endearing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching!! 🫰
That spa day with your dad looked SO nice! What a thoughtful gift to give him! And your grandma saying your haircut was not pretty was so savage lol, but I think that length looks great on you! It always feels nice to cut several inches off and have fresh, healthy hair :) Also loved hearing the story of the five rams from your dad! So interesting. Another lovely vlog, Julia!
Thank you Haley ❤ yes my hair feels so healthy and good rn!!
Great vlog. Love the quality time you had with your dad and LOL at your grandma no liking haircut! lol Thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing your life Julia. I hope you are healing well being at home. Much care and superb video. I love your new coat!! Be well.
Julia, your family vlogs made me cry. Thank you for these masterpieces!
🥺I’m glad you enjoyed 🫰thank you for watching!
What a wonderful video. Your grandparents are a blessing.
Yes they are ❤
Your hair looks amazing! Super healthy 😊 lovely vlog Julia ❤
Hehe thank you 🥰
Ohhhh I love these vlogs! Your family is lovely. And please say thank you to your father for explaining about the statue of the five goats. I loved hearing him tell the tale
Thanks so much for sharing this video, Julia! I was all teary-eyed while seeing the clip of you walking with your dad. This really reminded me of my own dad, and, sadly, I no longer have the chance to take a walk with him. 😿
Your china vlogs are so homely and comfy , I love it. ❤
Thank you for watching ❤
That was sweet you actually gave Grandma an ACTUAL photo book!!!........as a technical user myself & grandmother......the actual photos would be a plus for me also!~
Stumbled across your channel recently and you have a new subscriber! :) I love all of your videos and the evolution of your style. I especially appreciate these travel and China vlogs. I also grew up visiting family in Guangzhou, especially the Yuexiu district and going to Yuexiu Shan. I haven't been able to go back in 8 years, so seeing this footage made my day! I hope to go back soon!
watching your China vlog make me miss China so much. It is easy for us now day to lose sight of our love one around us. So thank you for reminding me.
Hope you get to visit soon ❤
I've watched your previous China vids b4 too. I love how sweet you are to your family, and how you are your family take the time to spend time together in your home country. ❤ It's something I wish to have but sadly, our country's situation is very bad rn. 😅
Coming from your latest vlog about quitting your job. We are both women in tech, in nyc, stressed about jobs, and we even have the same hometown lol these are all so relatable
Absolutely beautiful haircut Julia! 😉
Love the wonderful photo albums for your
Grandma 👵 ❤️
Hehe thank you ❤
Haven't been home for two years. Seeing my hometown through your videos makes me miss this city more😭
🥺 I hope you get the chance to visit home soon ❤
Awww the photo book is so sweet ❤
❤
yayyy another one ♥
❤🤗
So lovely to finally meet you!! Come back to Guangzhou soon💕(and we'll work on those poses haha)
Yes!! Hope to hang out again soon ❤
I absolutely loved this one! It shows how much you appreciate time with your family in china. ❤ Is there anything you have to take account of when you are in china in terms of your videos?
Awee what a cute vlog!
❤
this photobook idea is amazing
hoping to make more for her in the future 💗
A Ma reaction was so funny when J asked about the new haircut 😂
"I'm the poorest one." Yo, I felt that. 😂😭
I felt that too 😂
Lovely vlog 🥰
Thank you! 🫶
I really miss the days when I was little. 五层楼(镇海楼)Used to be fully open you can go all the way up to the top floor, but over time its time may have come. Watching this vlog is just like going back to the time that my granddad and I went to 越秀山公园。
What a beautiful memory 🫶 I did go up to the top floor and saw a great view from the balcony! But not sure if you meant you can go all the way to the roof!
that photobook was such a sweet gesture 🥹 reminded me of my grandparents :((
🤗❤
Love your videos, and like your chin😊. Thanks for sharing.
thank you for bringing us along. you're such a genuine person who truly cares about her family and it's so touching to watch ❤🩹
Aww thank you for your kind comment ❤ so glad you liked the video
omg Cena Lu!! we went to the same elementary school together. small world!
8:10 I’ve been to that place before with my family when I was little. It’s been ages..
it made me tear up 😭 It makes me miss my parents. My parents live 5 hours away from me and when I get bored I would call my parents just to chat. It sad to say that we don't realized how important our family is until we are older
We really learn the important lessons in life a little to late huh 😢
recover well soon to you and your family 🦢🤍
Thank you 🫰
omg the coffee shop at 2 mins, i went there alllll the time when i was in gz in the summer. i literally lived in the jiayu apartment right next to it ahh
Oh what!! I like how that coffee shop isn’t very crowded, a great place to do work ☕️
Your heart so pretty❤ hope you always happy❤
Thank you 🥹💗
The ending 🥺. Couldn’t have said it any better.

Your dad is such a great storyteller. I see where you get yours from.
Beautiful. My favorite parts were when your dad told the story of the name of the city. As well as when your grandma was looking through the photo book. I wanted to see her reaction, lol
I love talking to my dad because I always learn something new 😂
I love old school photo books.
Me too 😊
Hi Julia. I love when you go to China. I had pearls hand strung for me in Beijing. For all my female family and friends. In Guangzhou, have you ever went down to the watch district just for fun. I’m not sure there is still one there because that was a long time ago. These are my most favorite videos you do. In China with your family. I’m sorry it was for a sad occasion. You made grandma happy. Your hair does look pretty. 😃
Ooo would love to look into getting pearls as gifts for family and friends too! Also I haven’t been to the watch district but will try to check it out next time 🥰
This is where I went to college... I missed it so much, and now I get why you spoke multiple languages
Cantonese and Mandarin, the dream fluency of some of us ABCs here of blue-collar beginnings.
Really great from Cambodia
I loved your nails so much, I had to show my nail tech so she could do mine the same way 😊
Omg!! I hoped they turned out cute 🍓
Nice vlog 😊
Thank you! 😊
Your grandma's savage comment about your hair made me laughed so hard. 😂😂😂
She’s a feisty one 😂
Thank your dad for telling the story of five rams! I noticed that you spoke Mandarin when you ordered coffee and when you spoke to the taxi driver. How do you know when to speak Cantonese or Mandarin in everyday interactions in public?
Julia, you are a very sweet woman with a very loving and gentle soul.🥰🥹
Thank you 🥹🫶
CHINA ES HERMOSO 😍😍😍
This was me only 20 years ago. :) Enjoy. The elderlies are all gone for quite a few years now. I went back to GZ for the first time in 4 years in dec 23 and did what you did too. Having good food and seeing relatives and friends. Not sure wechat can link an international credit card.
Some of us ABCs just marvel at speaking both Cantonese and Mandarin fluently, especially if we're of blue-collar origin and went to school only learning traditional characters (most of them already forgotten) and watching HK content while growing up.
your videos should come w a "cutting onions" warning sign ♥️
Aww would u move back to china since family there u look so happy in china compared to nyc i love you do so much with ur family i wish mine did
I actually thought about moving to Hong Kong during the pandemic but it didn’t end up happening 😢 I think I would have a hard time finding work in China though (bc my ready and writing is very elementary) so settling down there long term probably wouldn’t be possible
@@juliafei thats true and ud have to move everything be a pain lol
wow Guangzhou is where i live now
❤❤❤❤❤
Hi! Do you use a VPN when going there? If so, which one do you recommend using in China?
weeee
@1:35 where is that coffee shop?! I’m visiting Guangzhou in March and would like to stop by there!
It’s called ChatChat T located in 珠江新城! Next to the 猎德 stop on the 5 train 😊
@@juliafei can’t wait to try it out!!
Can share some local food recommendations that Guangzhou ppl preferences?

Would you say you’re more comfortable with mandarin or Cantonese? Sounds like you can speak both!
I would say Cantonese as a default language but my mandarin vocab is definitely better!
Photo album old school is for when you either have your computer stolen, accidently have the files deleted, or loose the USB - etc - you still have precious memories to look at..
We need to bring back the old school photo albums!!
you english are so good how did you learn english?
Did you grow up in the US? Or did you come to the US when you were very young? Just noticed you spoke Chinese well still, being curious.

Ahh...love the story on the legend of the 5 rams saving Guangzhou. I visited the 5 ram statue when I was a child many decades ago & would love to see it again someday. But kind of sad to see so many Canton natives are opting to speak Mandarin instead of Cantonese. Please keep our native tongue alive.
It is sad :( Cantonese is such a beautiful language ❤ hope you get to visit Guangzhou again in the future!
Hi ❤
Hello ❤
Hey Julia!! I want to become a data scientist like you... I am currently in 10th grade and soon I will be in 11th!
Can you please guide me towards my aim???
Anyways love you!!!❤
你广东话和普通话说的很好啊!
❤🩹
How to be your friends ? I want😢❤
we are friends ❤
Why does everyone have friends in china and can navigate and live in the ecosystem there 😭. Im of chinese descent too but knew no one there except my family and cant even obtain a phone number without tremendous hassle when i was there, let alone making friends and join a circle lol. Seems like everyone else is the opposite.
They didn't even style your hair or add layers
广东万岁 广州万岁

你的长相就很广东哈哈

Yay! Hopefully the weather is nicer for you 😊
