Both Anchor and DMC threads are almost similar yes they can be used as per preferences and choices.
To avoid knot at the beginning I have made a twisted chain stitch.

Will this gota leaves stay for longer after a various wash? Because ur stich is away frm leaves and it may get diattach after few period of time,thts wht i feel.

Yes they do stay on well with fabric glue, the wash should be light and handwash only.
However, they can also be secured with fine needle and thread too.

Gota is used in rich ethnic traditional embroidery. It is an applique technique where small pieces of zari is applied on the fabric in a and edges are embroidered to create beautiful patterns / designs.
