Who wrote the tune, Marmalade? Not familiar with that one. Let me say that Mr Wonsey is a fine pianist. Several of the tunes should have been played a bit slower. There’s a point where the melody is obscured and virtuosic gobbledygook takes over. Not good. And the narrative that’s supposed to be there is lost. Suggest listening to Sonny Clark who was one of the best in maintaining the narrative while playing fast. Duke Pearson is also a good pianist to listen to.
