- A visit to JO, awared One Star Michelin in the category "Beef Specialties", there is only one other restaurant in Japan in the same category. Both restaurants are different from their approach: while JO feels more casual and could be a bit heavy on the stomach for female customers, yet filling for male customers, Karyu, the other restaurant with a "Wagyu Specialties" Michelin Star, has a more spacious and esthetic feel to it, which promotes relaxation which in turn asks for a nice wine pairing. If one invites a woman, Karyu might be a good choice, if one invites a man, JO might be a good choice -

Man, what a life. Travel and dine at the best spots, film your experience for all to see.
Posted just in time for bed. Thanks for everything you do Aden. 🎉
aden is definitely in the top 1% of wagyu consumers
Absolutely beautiful from how they prep the food, to cooking and its full presentation!
Loved it !
Thank you for sharing the experience. A great chef with great attention to detail. Kudos to sous chefs too. All servings looked super delicious! I hope I have a chance to sample this earthly goodness one day. Greetings from 🇬🇧 .
Thank you for sharing your experience. For some of us, this is the closest we will get to a Michelin star experience.
I visited JO last year.
At first, I imagined yakiniku, but it was much closer to kaiseki cuisine.
As a Korean, I had many opportunities to encounter yukhoe(beef tartar), but it wasn't my favorite food.
I still don't think it's the best way to eat beef, but my experience at JO was surprising enough.
JO was a place where you could enjoy Wagyu using a variety of cooking methods. If you are planning a trip to Japan and want to eat Wagyu but don't know what or how to eat it, this restaurant would be a great choice.
Actually, meat is meat, but what was most shocking was the rice. It was the most delicious rice I've ever had.
When I visited, you could choose to eat rice ice cream with mirin or olive oil for dessert. Each method was creative with caramel and cheese flavors.
The customer service was friendly, and the quality and taste of the meat was excellent. I think it's definitely worth a visit if I go to Tokyo again.
Aden never disappoints
This beef is very good
Thing about these Super fancy Michelin Star restaurants is that... I have no idea what they're eating... Other than the beef... 🤣
So nice

Wagyu is my favorite
Visiting Tokyo next year and was looking for recommendations and found your channel! Which was your no1 Tokyo dinning experience? TIA!
Peccato la mancanza di sottotitoli
Ate at both the omakase. Oniku karyiu = 570 usd, Jo = 480 usd. Conclusion: Oniku Karyiu serves a rare wagyu called BlackWagyu...
And it is way more special than kobe beef. Cos black wagyu is only sold by a farmers... the beef of Jo is "only" kobe beef. Sold by a whole area... also jo sells fish in the first 4 meals. Oniku karyiu is a pure beef michelin restaurant! When i come back to tokyo i will eat only at oniku karyius place...
Nice
Quite something other than the "ordinary" chunks of fried Wagyu & fried rice that's been sort of the staple food in most Aden films.
Don't think I've seen this much tartar servings in an Aden film before. And with a touch of surf & turf as well?
Now, if you like this kind of tartar, I guess you might find it interesting to try Lebanese tartar as well.
If you haven’t had tartar from Lebanon you haven’t lived!
the girl is very cute
Nice video Aden, very enjoy and relax

Was she supposed to laugh at everything ?
I bet she’s a escort 😂
was about to ask the same thing. at first i thought maybe the guy was a celebrity or a rich dude that she's sucking up to, but then it hit me
You get the full experience when you pay the full price.
WoW a chef and his employees working without a hairnet 🙄. And a Michelin star restaurant

Wow that look like actual muscle and not only fat
Is that $500 for two or just Aden? Either way, a SUPER impressive meal to say the least. 🤤

that gorgeous lady laughing like REAL japanese LOL style. Even now, arounding my fking ears ALL DAY long.
Why are people so loud?

I like that he always serves the lady first, however I'm not sure raw beef, no matter how good, is really as nice as the cooked alternative. While the seared beef at local restaurants isn't worthy of the dumpster at this place, when it's underdone (basically raw) the flavour and texture are just unpleasent to me, and I don't believe it's the quality of the meat that's at fault.
Raw meat is not appetizing to me. Just my choice. Thanks for sharing the video. 😊😊👍👍👍👍
please notice me
Restaurants are awarded stars, not chefs. There's no such thing as a "Michelin-starred chef".

The raw beef is a major turn off.. it's like the laziest way to prepare anything.. you get to be treated like an ignorant fool and get charged crazy for it.
@LL-kh7oy Your comment sounds like it might be coming from an ‘ignorant fool’…. Is the turn off because it is raw or because YOU HAVE TASTED IT??? You make it sound like they are literally serving him raw beef cut right off the bone! They are dipping it warm broths and seasonings, etc, which I am sure are changing and enhancing the taste of the meat…. Try again LL!🤨
dumb comment
Japanese do not take the "lazy route".
Well, at my fav haunt, a French brasserie style restaurant, I sometimes order tartar, & the offer it served in 3 kind of ways.
1) I can mix it myself.
2) I can have the waiter mix it for me. Which is a great kind of show.
3) I can have the cooks mix it for me in the kitchen.
Needles to say opiton 3) tends to create the best tasting option, with option 2) close behind, and myself mixing it trailing behind at the back.
Making a good tartar is an art!
As frying or grilling tends to concentrate the flavour of the meat, you can afford to be a bit more ham fisted w/the seasoning. Not so w/the more delicate & complex taste of raw meat.
@@myownboss1 yes I have tried it. Tis why I can say it is the most disappointing dish served in the menu. To top it off it's coming from a Michelin chef, not a Michelin butcher. And anything raw meatwise are parasite breeding grounds. Anything undercooked. On this case it is the best.
