    Hey all! Let us know what you would like to see more of, and we will try to improve a little each episode. We are still finding our stride with storytelling and editing. There wasn't much footage to work with for this first season, so it was a fun challenge. Coming up next in season two is our big refit of the boat. We are now about 8 months behind reality, but trying to close the gap before we head back to our Ingrid in December to finish the final touches before we splash. Thanks for all the support and kind words!

      Hello Team Ramona! Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful life project of yours. I thought the two of you, your families and the adventures behind the sailboat were wonderful. My name is Barbosa, I'm Brazilian and I have an ongoing project to acquire my boat and travel around the world without rushing and live aboard. I found some very interesting points in your story that coincide with mine. I live alone, I don't have a wife or children. I want to leave ordinary life in big cities and metropolises with large urban flows and go to the sea. I was raised by my grandmother who I loved very much and she died in 2015. I'm going to put her name on my boat in honor and it will be “VOVÓ BELA!!” I'm going to buy the boat in England. Look for a boat with sizes between 44 and 60 feet. I want three cabins to make one my bedroom, the other I will make an office and the third will be a room to receive friends if they show up. I will work from home. I'm going to set up an office and a radio communication table as I'm also an amateur SSB, HF, VHF, UHF, engraving radio amateur. First I want to prepare this boat in my own way and make it beautiful and fully equipped to be self-sustainable in water and electricity. I'm going to set up a laboratory because I work with scientific and technological research. After everything is ready, I want to sail throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. Then cross the Atlantic and cross the Pacific. I want to do the Coast of Africa and do the mares from Thailand, Japan, Okinawa, etc. I'm still torn between a sailboat and a Trawler. I'm studying this a lot and selling several boats. I watch all your videos and wait for your next one, okay? I hope one day we can meet somewhere on the planet in humid waters. I wish you all the success in the world and that you can always sail with good winds. Best regards, Barbosa.

    Loved this episode (like all the others)
    Ingrid /"Ramona Rae" looks really nice and solid.
    You two are doing a remarkable job on the storyline and the information you include in those stories.
    Really well done. Looking forward to season 2

      First like first comment! Thank you! We'll push hard to get season 2 started. Might take a couple more weeks to get a style / rhythm going, as they are so different. stay tuned!

    You're better at this than you think... You both come across as real people on a beautiful yacht... What else is there that matters...Keep it real and you will do well on youtube...

      Great! I purchased my Ingrid in Moss landing then sailed her down to Channel Islands. Your right about reversing.. I use a tiller pilot, not that expensive, easy to install. Got a Monitor last year.

    Super cool website. It got me more interested in visiting Shikoku one of these days. I'm also interested to see how you will be promoting Kito Yuzu! Maybe you could give us a tour of an orchard or even highlight some recipes. Albeit, not sailing content but a unique view of Japan.

    • @SailingRamona
      @SailingRamona  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Did you find our website through the description? We are planning to talk about it more soon. We might do a few 'bonus' episodes before we get back to season 2. Show Japan a bit more, maybe even sailing here? We are exploring ideas on how to best promote Kito, without taking away from the sailing aspect. Let us know if you come visit Shikoku!

      Yes! It was smart to put the website in the first few lines of the description so it’s visible even if you don’t click “read more”.
      I think sailing in Japan (the do’s and don’ts, how it compares to other regions) would be nice to see since there isn’t that much English content.

    So glad i was able to catch this beautiful but nerve wracking episode. Love both your commentary.. and your boat is Sooooo beautiful. Love it from Sprit to pointy stern...( does it handle better ia following sea as i would imagine?) Love the hull and bottom color.. It was nice to see it out and on the Strip as thry say in Cal i think? But i admit i wouldnt relax until the whole ordeal was over safe and sound at moms.😊

    • @SailingRamona
      @SailingRamona  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind comment! Nerves were high for sure! But she did make it there safely (spoiler? lol) We will be moving into the refit videos soon, but first we have a couple fun episodes in the works. She sailed amazingly, and the following seas didn't seem to phase her at all. Not sure if it's the pointy stern. As with most things there seems to be various views on the subject. But we like her unique look and how she sails.

    Ingrid appears firmly in the ‘60s I suggest two new furlers and an autopilot and wind vane. Lengthing the dodger with solar panels and going lithium. FYI those masts you have , while fine have issues with wear at gooseneck. Fair Sailing

    • @SailingRamona
      @SailingRamona  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have autopilot / windvane already in the works now. Hard dodger top is also in our thoughts. We appreciate the insight about the masts as well. We know she's and old dog, but we like her. cheers!

    full rudder and short bursts of full power and you can go astern any direction you want. Great way to overcome prop walk

    • @SailingRamona
      @SailingRamona  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great advice, thank you! After sailing our boat down the coast, I did look into our options for maneuvering in tight spaces. I found some people using the method you mention. We have pretty good momentum once we get going, so I'm sure that would work well. Definitely going to give that a try. When we took the boat to the lift, we did use warps to leave the doc, also worked quite well for that particular situation.
