He made it look so easy taking the manifold out. I tried it on a 2011 Equinox and it was not so easy. I had to go under the car and loosen a mounting bolt that was right across from the downstream O2 sensor. I shook it around a little bit and then I was able to lift up on the manifold, tilt it, and remove it. I also had to bend the heat shield a little to get it out, but it seemed to take its shape back once I got it off. You do not need to remove the air box unless you want to do some extra work. I was able to remove and replace the manifold without doing so, and there is plenty of room. I also ziptied a mirror to a cable in order to see all the exhaust manifold mounting bolts.
Your video had to be edite 😂. You did that work in 22.55 it took me from 9:00am till 5:20pm. I’m no mechanic just a DIY type of person. I did install the Exhaust Manofold 😊 When it started it does it have to smell like smoke it went away after 3 minutes or so. I saved $1752 this was the charged by the dealership
I did our ‘11 Equinox a few years ago. All nuts came of relatively easy. I used Aerokroil and let it sit for an hour, then some heat but not a bunch, then sprayed again and let it sit for another hour. I also removed the air box and its bracket and of course the heat shield. Mostly for ease of access. Most nuts were removed from above and a few from underneath. Could’ve all been done from above but a couple were easier from below. Nuts for the CC were removed similarly as the exhaust manifold. Everything was reassembled with anti-seize just in case the manifold cracked again. I repaired the old one in case it’s needed. I made a gasket for the CC since the ring gasket is tricky to keep in its channel. As for the manifold nuts, I did apply pressure in both directions without a lot of force to ease into them breaking free. The trick is not to just go for it if they’re really frozen. I did this using a wrench rather that a socket since you have more ‘feel’ with a wrench.
When putting on the new manifold I had 1 stud snap when tightening. Driver side 2nd from the top. I put everything back together and took it for a test drive. Other than the smell from the new manifold everything seems ok. Do you think that missing bolt will be a problem? Thanks.
Mine was already replaced once by dealer now its noisy on startup coming from that area. Wonder what the "book" says for hrs to replace this manifold? Anyone know . Thanks Much ...
Mine is smoking in the engine bay right after I started it. So I turned it off immediately. Seems to be coming from back of the engine into the engine compartment. Scary. Any tips or suggestions on what it could be?
What do you do if you can't lift the manifold above the three bolts on the down spout. (Not really sure if down spout is the right term. I also have to replace one of those three bolts
You need to do this to get the manifold off^ spent an hour trying to lift it off with the bolt on. Once we took that bottom bolt off, came right out. Everything else in video is spot on.
The one im working on has some secondary air injection pumps and tubes that are below that bracket but above the manifold. I always get the shity ones😅. Welp, roll with the punches and come out swinging.
Would I need to jack up the engine before taking all the bolts off the manifold? Or would it be just fine Having it sit without a jack or Jack stands ?
If anyone can find anywhere on this planet an explanation on how to remove an exhaust manifold on a Holden colorado rg 2.8td 2013, i will send them a heart and kiss

Whenever I see you guys have a video on how to do something I feel I can always do it. The explanations are fantastic.

Great Video..After watching your video it made replacing the exhaust manifold so much easier…Great Instructions….Thanks
Thanks for the video. Perfectly filmed and narrated.
Making a difficult job look easy. Glad all nuts and bolts came off good. That’s the hope-
+@nickdalessandro1191 Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
Anyone got the torque sequence? Cant find anything online thats for this specific one

The perfect way to do this. Respect
Mine is a 2012, and definitely was not that easy to remove. Had a vacuum pipe on top of the to the left top of manifold.

They all fail. Flawless video. Thank you.
Some people you must consider if you have and Air Injection System (AIR). If so will be harder and more work.

The down spout is the catalytic converter there is a bolt from the bottom side you need to take off to let it drop just a little bit.

Belle vidéo ! Bien expliquer merci

I know it's a bit much but, doesn't anyone use anti-seize?
it's easier to take the windshield out and work on it laying on the dashboard
Badass man thank you
Do you need to replace the converter ring?
Would I need to jack up the engine before taking all the bolts off the manifold? Or would it be just fine
Having it sit without a jack or Jack stands ?
Nah you don't need to jack up engine
Great job. thanks!

What is that hose at 29 seconds used for?
what size ratchet to use 3/8 or 1/2 inch???
Why replace the manifold, just looked rusty?
all my studs came out wit the bolts still on. can I reuse the studs and bolts or no
Why remove the air box?
Did this equinox have a EGR? If so is the manifold different from a chevy that doesn’t have a EGR
What is egr?
