I used this video for homework help. My heart was pacing so fast because I for sure thought I was going to get the problem wrong but I got it correct! You took a complicated process for most of us and simplified it. Thanks!
Generaly this video was very good, because you have provided a litle bit detail on how to fillout the tax form whcih is good. thank you for the information.
Hello! I've migrated here in the USA last December 2019 and did not receive the 2 stimulus check. I've watch other video and they said that if you did not receive stimulus check you should put it on 1040 form. GREAT VIDEO BTW really helps me out!
Hi Dan, glad to hear that the video was helpful! As for the stimulus checks, if you believe you qualify to receive those checks then yes you should put that information on your Form 1040. You would put this information on line 30 of your Form 1040. In the 2020 Form 1040 instructions: www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040gi.pdf page 57 goes over the Recovery Rebate Credit as well as page 59. If you qualify you will receive a tax credit which will reduce the taxes you owe by the stimulus amounts you qualify for. Hope that is helpful!
Hello, I am trying to understand something but I couldnt figure out it. who fill out the W2, means withholding tax, means already paid the taxes at source. The employees who paid their taxes with W2, also fill out the form 1040?
When you say you upload the data from W2 in this form, how did do it. Or you had to buy disk software which is not worth it for me if I have to software like in old days.
Thank you. Question pls. For a zero-filer, one who is not gainfully employed and derives income from (example) buying n selling items on free classified sections just to get by. One who makes approx $12k / year or $1000. .mo, no records of income, single. What would I place on the income portion of 1040? Should I put down 0 (zero) n on tax withheld section also? Or should I put down $12k which is an estimate accompanied by a letter to attest the fact n 0 on the tax withheld portion. ? This is intended to benefit those who have not received their stimulus checks from the start and are being g required to file for 2020 tax returns. Must the federal tax returns be accompanied by state tax returns mandatorily? Much appreciated.
Glad you found the video helpful! The stimulus checks aren't considered income so they aren't taxable. If you got your full stimulus checks then you don't have to report anything on your return in regards to your stimulus checks.
I'm trying to figure out how to view my 2019 earned income, I read online that you can see it on your 1040 form. So I went ahead and ordered that on the IRS website. Will I have to fill out this blank form to send in so I can view my earned income? or is there another way I can view it.
If you live in Washington state won money at casino in Idaho do you have to add it to your Washington state if so what line does it go on wages tips or other income?
Hi, I am filling out a CSU application for college and it is asking me to input my Parents' adjusted gross income (AGI) for 2022 and my Parents' untaxed income and benefits for 2022. I know the AGI can be found on line 11 of the 1040 form on the 2022 Individual Tax Return, but I want to confirm where I can find the amount for the untaxed income and benefits? Is it line 2a where it says “Tax-exempt interest” or is it line 2b where it says “Taxable interest”? Line 2a is blank, but line 2b has an amount. Which one would I put? Thank you!
My W2 has cents. Should I skip the cents? example: $2,350.25 =2,350. or 2,350.50=2,350. or 2,350.60 and so forth=2,350 or I have to round up? like this 2,350.25= 2,351. ?
Ay brother i need your help im trying to file for the last stimulus check.but i did not work on 2021 or 2020.what do i have to fill out.do i just put 0,0,0 and on what part do i write the amount of the stimulus check
Can you do a more complicated 1040 - independent contractor, depreciation of home, self- employment tax, schedule c schedule e, form 4562 . My CPA just died and it looks like I'll be doing it myself. Some people say to get Turbo tax. Should I do that??
I moved from Kentucky to Michigan late September. I know I have complete part time resident forms for each state but do I need to complete a 1040 form also? I am 77 and have only social security and retirement as income. I appreciate your response as this is my first time trying to do my own taxes.
Thank you for the video! Please tell me, If I have already paid taxes when I submitted the form to extend the tax return, will I receive a refund + overpayment for the tax paid earlier? Or will I need to submit a separate return request? What is the correct way to reflect this in the 1040 form?
where would you send this file if you want to e-file? I already have this filled out but where can send it online? If I mail it, where can I find this?
Hi shawn, thanks for this informative basic video for 1040 single filers. Would it be possible if you create a sample video including the unemployment compensation? Thank you for the excellent video tutorial.
I im trying to learn. Is it a form that every american citizen needs to fill? I have a client that is a non american resident but got this to fill. He has a house rented in florida. Thats it. Do the wage that he earns is not from the us,so do i need to fill the wage or not? Sm i only filling the rent part? What is relevant to that?
Hello I am a tax resident I opened an LLC to do wholesale in the United States, buy from American wholesalers And resell in the territory, I inquired with the IRS as I would like to learn how to pay myself with my single member LLC, could we talk about this again and that What am I going to do is correct? Thank you for your videos Cyril
Line 25 federal income tax withheld. If you are working abroad and tax is withheld where you reside (abroad) do you still claim it as federal tax from a foreign gov? (not the USA).
No you would not, you would generally file a Form 1116 to report foreign taxes and possibly get a foreign tax credit which would show up on line 31 of your 1040 (through Schedule 3)
I feel like we're supposed to fill line 37. There's nothing that says to skip it. Wouldn't the negative owed amount created by subtracting 33 and 24 and the positive overpaid amount balance things out, resulting in you still getting paid the refund amount?
Thanks for the tutorial! Where would you fill in the foreign earned income exclusion on your form 1040? I have been living in europe for my whole life but have dual citizenship. It was brought to my attention I need to file regardless.
I used this video for homework help. My heart was pacing so fast because I for sure thought I was going to get the problem wrong but I got it correct! You took a complicated process for most of us and simplified it. Thanks!
Thank you! My son did his first taxes this year following this video. He was a happy 18 yr old who doesn’t owe the IRS unlike us 😂

Signed in just to give you a thumbs up. This was an excellent video - clear, concise, and very very very easy to understand!
Glad you enjoyed the video! Appreciate the support!
Yes, please! More complicated 1040 videos! Especially EITC!
Thank you for the video! It's funny how they don't teach this at school...
Ridgefield High School, WA does!
They teach this now, but my teacher doesnt do crap. Man just sits there and reads the slides then expects the whole class to learn the rest.
I cannot express my appreciation, thank you!!!!
This saved me today!!!! This was the exact break down I needed thank youuu for making this
This was very helpful. Such a confusing process for newbies

Can you make a video for every form like for example CTC and all the Schedules?
Pretty nice, thanks for talking me thru it🎸 just wondering if those stimulus checks are income, or were they gifts for our beloved government?
Glad you found the video helpful! The stimulus checks aren't considered income so they aren't taxable. If you got your full stimulus checks then you don't have to report anything on your return in regards to your stimulus checks.

What about idendity protection pin number?
What is expected refund amount $1?
Where do the social security and Med taxes you paid go?
That information is on your W-2 if you work for a company and doesn't get reported on your Form 1040.
Can we use EIN instead of ITIN
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I feel like we're supposed to fill line 37. There's nothing that says to skip it. Wouldn't the negative owed amount created by subtracting 33 and 24 and the positive overpaid amount balance things out, resulting in you still getting paid the refund amount?
I believe line 37 of the Form 1040 only needs to be completed if you owe taxes. In my example there was a refund so line 37 would be left blank.
what about a single person filing but can also be claimed as a dependent by his caregiver?
Thanks for the tutorial! Where would you fill in the foreign earned income exclusion on your form 1040? I have been living in europe for my whole life but have dual citizenship. It was brought to my attention I need to file regardless.

What happened to the 1040EZ form?
It was discontinued in the 2018 tax year. Now taxpayers typically just use Form 1040.
