No just get the soil damp and seal it off. It should stay damp but not wet. Only if for some reason it gets dried out then I’d mist it with water and reseal.
I didn’t realize the seeds needed to be fresh! Makes sense though. I have seeds that are at LEAST 6 months old, ordered online so who really knows. Is it worth trying to grow them or should I get new ones? Thanks 😊
So I don’t know how to use this TH-cam stuff much hopefully I get a response from you. Have a great aloe plant that decided to bud this year and need to know more about how to harvest the seed pods so that I can germinate them and create more babies.
They will need to be manually pollinated since we don’t have the right butterflies and insects that would naturally do it. Take the flower from one and try to pollinate another. If it takes you will tell and then collect the seeds
I think I used too much water; after a month, there was a couple moldy seeds and four seedlings that have sprouted. Should I get rid of the moldy seeds, or will it be okay to keep them all in there?
@@DaveTheHillsideGardener Okay, thanks. Should I spritz to add moisture after killing all the mold, or just water like normal? Should I use hydrogen peroxide on the lower soil at all?
Cool, thank you for the information😁😁😁
Hopefully you have success
I can’t wait to see how they turn out once they grow.
It will be exciting for sure
What’s the update on this aloe start
I’ll make an update this summer and include a bunch of plants that people are wanting updated on. Thanks for the request
No wonder mine havnt sprouted. Its been a month. Thanks for this info
I hope it helps
Once I've put the seeds in the plastic bag, do I need to water them again, and if so, how often?

You can always try! Just be patient and keep them consistent moisture and not soaking wet. A heat mat may help. Good luck
I am planning to plant aloe from a store brought seed. What soil is better for it?
Not heavy potting soil. A basic seed starting mix and add in some perlite

@@DaveTheHillsideGardener can I pollinate it with one of the pods off of itself
@jacobpeterson7024 it’s possible but more viable with another parent.

Remove them mold will spread. Also let the soil dry out to kill the mold spores. Air circulation is necessary

@dad5draco let it dry then bottom water. Misting leads to viruses and yellow spots on the leaves
I'm at 1.5 months. No mold and no germination.....
How fresh were the seeds?
3 months!! Danggg. Patience my son. Lol
Yessir. It’s gonna be a long process but hopefully a cool hybrid down the road
