    It works!!. I recovered 3 Rapidograph that I had stored for more than 20 years 😲😲These were more than dry than a mummy. Only with warm water that changed every so often (no alcohol please). I also had to shake them a lot until the piston was released and with new cartridges they came back to life. It took me at least 24 hours. Now my happy daughter will occupy them !! Greetings from Chile 😉

      I'm just telling you to be very patient and between changes of soaking water tap the table on the back and carefully so that the piston is released. Once you hear it just keep soaking until you no longer dump dry ink residue. The water must not be too hot to avoid deformation of its plastics, nor alcohol because it breaks internal seals

    You've just saved me. I've bought an used old set and it was a mess. Last time I've cleaned some rotrings they were another model, the isograph, and the disassembly it's different. Now they're in the final step of the cleaning looking really good thanks to you. Thank you _very_ much 🙌

      @@artemorbid I soaked them for a day or 2 (I was not in a hurry :) ). In between shaking them, getting ink and dried ink bits out of the nib. The amount of bits and ink that came out was quit impressive. Shaked them till non came out anymore. I had still 30 year old cartridges that I never used, but it seemed they didn't work. The ink inside was dry. So I ordered new ones. Put them in and the pens worked in a fraction of a second :)

    I've done about the same with mine, 0.35 size. I had some problems with it, it started leaking too much ink, even when the small needle is not out and while holding it vertically. So I took it all apart, cleaned it and set it in rotring cleaner fluid.
    Hope it's gonna work.

    • @artemorbid
      @artemorbid  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, use your best judgment. If the pen appears to work after a few hours and the dried up ink has come loose then you should be ok using it. I typically like to leave it in that long to be sure all the dried up ink is clear from the pen

    What is the difference between this Radiograph and the Isograph Pen? and any advantages? Can these cartridges be refilled with a syringe? Thank you for this video and it is very helpful.

    • @artemorbid
      @artemorbid  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello and greetings Cyril, the radiographic give you on constant line no matter how hard or light you press, the line will always be the same in size and the Isograph can vary in size depending on pressure. It comes down to what style of drawing or illustrations you will be creating. If you try it you will find each one can have a use for your creations. And yes the cartridges are refillable with a syringe as I have done many times, it can save you money in ink for the long run.

    • @artemorbid
      @artemorbid  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good day to you. Yes they are sticking out, my suggestion would be not to take out the piston because it would be difficult to put it back. I would just soak it as I demonstrated and if you need to do it a second time for a complete clean up then do that. But doing just once and letting it soak for 24 hours should do the trick
