I think an underappreciated line in Cypher pt. 1 is when Suga say "I'm dope man, I'm Chopin off the beat", Chopin was a pianist and composer but Suga uses the name in place of the word choppin' to give it a really nice double meaning. When he says Chopin there's a quick little flutter of piano keys

Right? His musicality is perfection. He feels the beat in his bones and I think that allows him to play with his flow as much as he does and still stay so perfectly in the pocket.
The way I observe: • RM has a certain finesse and grace to his rapping both in flows and lyrics. • Suga is raaaaaaaw that it’s ironic he’s called suga. The only way he’s sweet when it comes to rap is the way he puts a period in anyone he disses. • J-Hope is J-Flow. His lines unexpectedly packs a punch for a newbie back then and wrap them up in a unique flow and the number of flows he can ride and the transition is 👌
Not a rap expert, but to me RM's is so sophisticated, like you said Suga is raw and for me relatable, and JHope as others say, just seems to go with the flow.
I love you calling out Hobi's lyrics. They're always deceptively clever. Like somewhere along the way it became kind of a meme that "Hobi's verses slap but they don't make sense" and that's so ridiculous. He's very referential with literature and pop-culture and some of that can go over your head (especially if you're not Korean) and some of his raps play the long game so the verse is a bar, not a just a line of it. He uses a lot of metaphor too. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to read what he's saying. He's got incredible bars too. He's the second most prolific writer in the group and a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association along with Joon and Yoongi. He deserves to be known for his writing too.
All of BTS at one point were partial members of KOMCA (I think that’s the right abbreviation). But for the three rappers that used to get some much sh!t from “true” and underground rappers to now be full fledged members of KOMCA is the best flex of them all. KOMCA only upgrades 25 people a year to full membership. That’s the best proof to me to all the haters.

They're stuck in a rut and don't change.
Cypher 2- I can't dare to pause RM's verse, I just gotta let that hit all at once and die. Then I resurrect to analyse lyrics. I love that he used words like hegemony.

Yoongi is my ultimate bias and I love how he's so quiet, soft, and a little strange but he's such a savage. I think what makes him so much of a savage is that he doesn't mince words and he has a very clear view on the world around him. He's also really good at being in touch with his emotions and explaining how he feels to get his point across.

Yeah honestly.. Their earlier songs were really rapline based and they were going innnn. I always found it so amazing how bts had three rappers and each had a verse and were not afraid to state their opinion. This was honestly what made me get into them. They were just so different and not afraid of anything. I also think that because of this they gained popularity internationally initially. Kinda sad that newer fans are not aware of these songs and sometimes it seems that even bts isn't even aware what made them so big lol.

What's great about the Cypher series is when those were released, they were still not at the top like now. Especially 1 & 2. For 3 & 4 they gained some attention from westerners but in Korea they were still considered 'nugu' (Explain why they won the grand prize in 2016 and so many kpop fans protested cause koreans at that time didn't believe their albums sales was so great). And now years have passed and all the things they said in Cypher's lyrics has all become reality. They have become the standard for Kpop, so high that nobody can touch them now. That's incredible if you ask me.

During Cypher Pt.2 Blaze was my true avatar. I have never seen another humans body translating all of my exact emotions as I was having them. BTS has a rap line with a style and flow unlike any other kpop group other there. The creativity of their lyrics, the way they each deliver in a way that you can easily identify each member is amazing to me. Yoongi is my bias for a reason lol. The man is a complete savage in the best way. He puts his entire mind , body and soul into everything he does .
always remember that when your talking about production, these guys always have a hand in whats going on. The three of them have the most production and lyrics credits in all of the BTS material. If you look at the credits, usually one or more of these three have their hand in the production aspect. when people say they make their own music. they really are one of those artists that have a hand at every point in the process.

I’ve listened to all the Cyphers & have enjoyed the live performances many times, but this is my first time actually reading the lyrics and thanks to you guys, understanding some of the meanings. It’s crazy how they treated the rappers at first, even more so the entire group. I’m just glad that through these Cyphers they were able to respond. I think an underappreciated line in Cypher pt. 1 is when Suga say "I'm dope man, I'm Chopin off the beat", Chopin was a pianist and composer but Suga uses the name in place of the word choppin' to give it a really nice double meaning. When he says Chopin there's a quick little flutter of piano keys

I love you calling out Hobi's lyrics. They're always deceptively clever. Like somewhere along the way it became kind of a meme that "Hobi's verses slap but they don't make sense" and that's so ridiculous. He's very referential with literature and pop-culture and some of that can go over your head (especially if you're not Korean) and some of his raps play the long game so the verse is a bar, not a just a line of it. He uses a lot of metaphor too. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to read what he's saying. He's got incredible bars too. He's the second most prolific writer in the group and a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association along with Joon and Yoongi. He deserves to be known for his writing too.

But for the three rappers that used to get some much sh!t from “true” and underground rappers to now be full fledged members of KOMCA is the best flex of them all. Yoongi is my ultimate bias and I love how he's so quiet, soft, and a little strange but he's such a savage. I think what makes him so much of a savage is that he doesn't mince words and he has a very clear view on the world around him. Yeah honestly.. Their earlier songs were really rapline based and they were going innnn. I always found it so amazing how bts had three rappers and each had a verse and were not afraid to state their opinion. This was honestly what made me get into them. They were just so different and not afraid of anything.
I also think that because of this they gained popularity internationally initially. Kinda sad that newer fans are not aware of these songs and sometimes it seems that even bts isn't even aware what made them so big lol.

Also the Cyphers is a clear representation of hobi's journey as a rapper. He was already a dancer for many yrs before becoming a rapper, so already had an edge. He starts at level 1 which is already pretty good bc he had rm and yoongi by his side to help him learn how to rap. Then he just goes to the next level, and the next, until he reaches his OWN level. It becomes very obvious when he finds his rap style, and his flow. Like in every song, you'll know it's hobi bc of his flow, it's unmistakable. It's usually always my favorite verse bc of the flow alone

What's great about the Cypher series is when those were released, they were still not at the top like now. Especially 1 & 2. For 3 & 4 they gained some attention from westerners but in Korea they were still considered 'nugu' (Explain why they won the grand prize in 2016 and so many kpop fans protested cause koreans at that time didn't believe their albums sales was so great). And now years have passed and all the things they said in Cypher's lyrics has all become reality. They have become the standard for Kpop, so high that nobody can touch them now. That's incredible if you ask me.

BTS has a rap line with a style and flow unlike any other kpop group other there. The creativity of their lyrics, the way they each deliver in a way that you can easily identify each member is amazing to me. Yoongi is my bias for a reason lol. The man is a complete savage in the best way. He puts his entire mind , body and soul into everything he does .
always remember that when your talking about production, these guys always have a hand in whats going on. The three of them have the most production and lyrics credits in all of the BTS material. If you look at the credits, usually one or more of these three have their hand in the production aspect. when people say they make their own music. they really are one of those artists that have a hand at every point in the process.

I’ve listened to all the Cyphers & have enjoyed the live performances many times, but this is my first time actually reading the lyrics and thanks to you guys, understanding some of the meanings.
It’s crazy how they treated the rappers at first, even more so the entire group. I’m just glad that through these Cyphers they were able to respond. Blaze you picked up on the hardships of Suga without probably knowing much about the guy. I commend you on that. Shows us you are really listening. Thank you for this great reaction....really enjoyed it.
What I love about cyphers is that you see how much they've grown emotionally. How different they deal hate from start up to now.. Im just proud how they were able to overcome this anger.
