This figure was never released in my country, but just when I was gonna resign and accept the fact that I'd never own it(it was stupidly expensive online because EVERYONE wanted it), a friend of my father sent me the GDO giftset that included the G2 deco for this mold and my god, I absolutely ADORE it! The light blue really injects more energy to the toy! And yes, I still rank the mold as one of the best of this decade, which makes me feel certain that the only reason we don't have an MP Jazz yet is due to licensing issues, because this guy IS pretty much masterpiece-level engineering, but without the necessary budget, he only needs ankle tilts and he's ready, he even has an obscure accesory in his speakers!
Great touch with the speakers! I have an offer to buy a complete but used version of this Jazz. Came looking for your input on this figure before committing to an eBay purchase. Thanks for being so reliable!
There is a locking system to the chest!! Basically you need to pull the arms down while pulling the wheels up! It locks everythin up and complete his look!!
I'm looking for that on the toy and I'm finding nothing, nothing in there seems engineered to lock together and the parts that move don't involve the torso's main hinge. It looks like it would just cause a serious jam in the plastic.
There is a hinge between the whells and the hood pieces whith the 4, there are no tabs but it locks! Take the arm in place and move the wheel to the sky it will move (my english is bad im french)
Trust me, I am attempting that, I see the hinges, and if I did what you're describing I would break the toy. All I get is creaking plastic and strained hinges.
ΔĿZΞΔL07 I always hated this guy's lack of paint and lack of locking mechanism in the chest. Surely he should have more smiling face too, instead of the Judge Dredd scowl we have here.
Kup isn't all that complex. I have the Electro version of that mold and I'd say that the transformation is nice and fun. I don't know what you're talking about with that one.
I bought the Reprolabels set for this figure, using only the cartoon accurate stickers and I have to say he looks much better with an Autobot symbol on his hood and a silver grille.
Considering that I share TJ's skeeviness over clear plastic, and that I've seen The Lazy Eyebrow's already disintegrate, I'm starting to wonder if I should just hunt this one, or its United version, in the long run. Price be damned to the pit, it'll last far longer than something that's more show and "scale" accurate but made of fragility.
I got Jazz a few years ago. Not for myself though. I only handled the figure for a very short time. When we were kids I had G1 Bumblebee and my brother had G1 Jazz. I was the only one that could actually transform Jazz but it was actually his. As adults, I think my dad actually bought Special Ops Jazz and I got FoC Jazz for my brother... and of course again I was the only one that could transform him hence my very brief time handling the figure. I actually bought two of the FoC Jazz figures. One for my brother and one which I still have. I really like the FoC designs so I actually got one for myself as well. Special Ops Jazz was just the one for my Brother though. There was only the one in the store and my Brother likes the character way more than I do. I like the design of the figure and I might have gotten one for myself if I ever found another one but he's not that big a deal. As much as I like the FoC version I have, the mostly white plastic is kind of boring and washes out a lot of the detail. If is wasn't for the color scheme I might be more into Jazz toys but I've never been a fan of mostly white Transformers. I don't think there's anyone that likes that color scheme.

The c-clip gimmick was fun, I don't understand why they NEVER advertised it! Like at ALL!
His alt mode front reminds me more of the Pontiac Solstice vehicle he had in the 07 movie.

United Jazz has a purer white colour, as well as additional paint details like a silver grille and such like...

Pretty glad that I've still got both RTS & United versions of this figure. RTS for playing around and United version for group display. :D
