    In answer to the sealant question, automotive seam sealer. This sort of application is exactly what it's designed to do.
    Also, if you use a hammer to relieve the bending stresses as you form the sheet metal you'll have an easier time of it as you progress around the form.
    In any case, fantastic work as always. Good to see you post again.

    I revisit several of your videos regularly. Like every month or so. Many of them are wonderful I just watched your ruler sheath video two nights ago.. Such a great example of prototyping and troubleshooting through multiple iterations until finding a perfect design that works for you.
    You’re a real inspiration to guys like me. I’m a little bit older than you but I’ve spent a lot of time teaching younger folks everything from woodworking to blacksmithing and machining. you’re a real inspiration to younger folks, (and older folks for that matter) and your work is always top notch.

    Always a pleasure to watch you work, Jer. I kept thinking, "He should have a slip roll." Then I could easily imagine bending and forming the sheet metal in whatever ways I could come up with. I am eager to see the continuation. Well done!

    Seeing you back here MADE MY DAY! Great project, can't wait for part two. I used to design high speed packing equipment, and if there is one thing I can see and love in your work, it is the ability to overcome issues and to do it in a way that uses two things that seem to be sorely missing in todays world - common sense and creativity. The touch of genius is the icing on the cake. Welcome back!

    You have crazy good skills. A tip on cutting thin metal with a jig saw I learned while building a Teardrop camper is to place the metal on a sheet of 2" foam board. It will support the metal and allow to cut into the foam board.

    As a side note, Ron Covell has great videos for sheet metal fabrication. In the "F-Bomb" series he shows techniques for simple ways of calculating spring back and then creating smaller templates so the metal "rests" back to intended dimensions. Probably too late for this project, but good info for future projects. Definitely worth checking out.

    Ron Covell has really good videos on making cones and other shapes from sheet metal. Also if the silicone doesn’t hold up I’d like to suggest automotive seam sealer. Love your videos. Can’t wait for more.

    My shop is way to small für such a huge system, but one day, in the future, maybe I am able to build one too.

    a CNC router can become a CNC plotter, to help you draw those weird curves onto flat stuff. I've absolutely chucked a magic marker into a router with the actual router spinny bit unplugged. Sharpies do not like being spun at 20k and yes you can ask me how I know.

    Mastic duct sealant is what is usually used to "caulk" ducting to seal it.
