I'm actually more sympathetic towards Maiev then anyone else. She was victim of basically everyone else doing shitty things behind her back and choosing personal relationships over what was right.
Yeah, Tyrande committed a crime by killing the watchers and she was not punished, she let illidan free. And because illidan saved her butt from her own choices of standing in a bridge instead of the ground and being washed away and as illidan saved her Tyrande de idea to forgive all what he did for personal feelings. No wonder maiev would be so pissed.tyrande and malfunction are the worst characters in warcraft that I don't like.thry do things that should be punished or at least mentioned and they never suffer any punishment or at least a reprimand.
Illidan killed many Innocents and Malfurion used his political power saved his brother ass from sentence to death and moon slut released illidan from prison when maeiv was on a mission. They are a horrible family.
More like only Maiev. Malfurion is more of a good guy than Illidan. Malfurion's fault lies with besides understanding what's the best decision to make he chooses to be Tyrande's whipping boy because in true druid fashion he's such a beta chuck.
Nobbel, you forgot to mention what Shadow Orb is. Its the item that strenghtens the obsessions of one who holds it. Gul'dans obsession was power so he went for Sargeras Eye despite warnings of others. Maiev after rebuilding the Orb was doing more and more to capture Illidan, thats why she left Tyrande and lied to Malfurion.
The idea that Illidan and Maiev becoming a couple is scary. If Maiev puts all of her energy in training and commanding Illidan's forces, they would have ruled against a huge chunk of the Legion. Plus their potential offspring could possibly be the most resilient hunters and jailors in the Warcraft universe.
Excellent video mate, always enjoy watching them. Just a suggestion for a vote for a "possible" lore video. Nobundo. Next to Prophet Velen and Maraad, the story of Nobundo was so sad yet so inspiring despite what happened to him. Truly one of the alliance's unsung heroes.
Wow. I have all new respect for Maiev. She was so focused on capturing Illiden and bringing him to justice. This is great because he had it coming. I think Maiev can be more than Illiden's captor. She can be a captor for more prisoners. I am glad she gets more stories towards the end of this video. It is wierd for Night Elves to have mages. When I roll thi race, I prefer to have hunters and druids. It is a better fit. It is a good think for Illiden to let Tyrande go. However I don't want him to be with Maiev. Think about it. Illiden was a prisoner for millennia. Maeiv was his captor. A ship between them is not appropriate. That is an unhealthy dynamic that violates basic decency.
Awh man, I just love your vids, thanks for all the fun I've had watching them up to now! Always turn them on when I go farming - always gives me agood time. Many thanks. :) KEEP IT UP!
Has anyone noticed when Akama leaves the fight, he is actually fighting off illidan's Demon hunters? You have to target akama before he leaves and make sure target or my target is on. and you can see him attacking demon hunters who rush to try to help illidan.
"You seek the power of Sargeras!" "That power is out of my reach" *stares at the blindfold covering Illidan's eyes and the tattoos all over his body which are there because he has the power of Sargeras already* Illidan sure is an idiot.
It's so strange that Kil'Jaeden keeps giving people second Chances... "oh you fucked up again? well next time you'll do better... I still have eternity to torture you..."
thats what makes Kil' Jaeden different from his other Legion brethren, if it was Archimonde your ass woulda been split in 2 on the ground, no questions asked
+Nobbel87 As far as I can tell he hasn't. Would be VERY cool, though. I could see him as a quest giver opposed to Gul'dan, or even being re-recruited by his dark master "returned from the dead".
i came here because i wanted to surprise my boyfriend with some wow trivia for our anniversary, but this is actually really interesting. I have seen over 40 episodes now and him not sure if its for him or for myself.
I feel after Illidans redemption story I always thought Maiev and Illidan could be a amazing couple, like Maiev for some reason doubt it but falls for him after saving her life from a swarm of demons!
Legion = maiev and illidan fights in the last raid at the last boss who is gul'dan while we are fighting gul'dan and at the end of the fight gul'dan is trying to summon sargeras and illidan and maiev notices stops fighting each other and turn on gul'dan killing him maiev then absorbs the skull of gul'dan and becomes like illidan and they live happily ever after! The End!
i watched this video with so much seriusness... until i noticed that Nobbel ships Maiev x Illidan, then i could just laugh... Also thanks for the story.
I commented this on your previous video too, I really want your opinion on how this could work out. All I want with life is to see Sargeras come to Azeroth in the final cinematic, only to be greeted by N'zoth and we get one of those amazing cinematics we know Blizz can pull off with them two fighting, and in the end we see more and more Old Gods rise from the ocean to overpower Sargeras, we see C'thun and Yogg Saron(since old gods can't die)come along, Y'arashj and that one unkown one come and fuck him up. We see Sargeras' titan bretheren observing, as he is slowly being consumed by the power of the Old Gods he reaches out to them but they simply turn their back. As Sargeras perishes the Titans hit the reset button that Algalon the Observer was supposed to do, resetting Azeroth into the unharmed state. This puts us in the final expansion with a completely new world to explore with the level cap stopping at 120 and they simply release a new raid tier every 6 months to keep the classic fans staying but ultimately letting wow die out naturally. This is what I want.
Going to say it now, Cordana Felsong is the reason why/how Gul'dan got into the vault of the wardens to release Illidan, more than likely will be a boss or the final boss of that particular dungeon, and no I don't care about spoiling her for others if you haven't gotten to that point on at least one character then the likelyhood of someone not knowing of her betrayal to the legion is close to none.
18:33 Nobbel: You're still alive? did she leave without finishing you off? well we can't have that, its not part of the lore "Hammers of wraths executes*
Maiev wants Justice, but considering how blizzard handled Grom Hellscream at the end of Draenor I feel I should quote Tyrion Lannister. "If you want justice, you have come to the wrong place"
I'm definitely thinking that as well, like we've battled Kil'jaeden, and Archimonde twice, to get a taste of how strong sargares is, an avatar would fit really well, would also give you an insight on how strong Aegwynn was in her prime.
That conversation between Illidan and Kil'Jaedan is why I can only see Illidan as a villain. He served one of the biggest badguys willingly for more power. How is that any different than what Gul'dan did? He was far from being a hero before, but that scene pushes him into the villain category.
waterman034 And he knew full well that Kil'Jaedan couldn't touch him directly on Azeroth. After all, he couldn't touch the Lich King and needed Illidan for it. If he refused, the best Kil'Jaedan could have done would be to find another "agent" on Azeroth to take care of the Lich King AND Illidan.
In the Warcraft writer defence. After allying with the Alliance who use arcane magic alot it probably seemed strange to still have it punishable by death
I think the story should continue in us aiding Jarod as he has found her trail, in either quest chain dungeon or raid. It then leads to use finding Illidan trapped and Maiev barely keeping him alive so she can continue torchering him. So we kill her and rescue him and Jarod forgives him for what happened 11000 years ago and Illidan's redemption story would begin there so he can once again be the legions downfall
Maiev became a controlling egomaniac who believed only she could judge the actions of others, and execute (emphasis on Execute) the punishment as she saw fit. She was driven completely insane by the time of wolfheart. I bet shell be the final boss of the dh starting area, and i look forward to bringing her down
Does anyone here know that in the Tomb of Sargeras stage in Warcraft III Frozen Throne, right before the gate that you break down to reveal Illidan and his naga, you can use the Blink ability to teleport past that gate and kill Illidan and his minions. If you do, something weird happens.
I wonder if you will make a Video about Xavius. I've been looking forward on seeing him the most in Wow since forever. I was already pumped up for Legion, but after seeing that model of his I couldn't help but jump at the first cart of the Hype train. He is one of my favourite Warcraft Characters.
Maiev is going to be quite pissed when the watchers set free all those Demon Hunters, and since those Demon Hunters will be the next hero class and Illidan will (hopefully) be on ours side, we can assume Maiev will be a boss in Legion.
Hey Nobbel (Not Nixxiom, thanks for pointing that out Charles Winters), would you mind doing a video on the story of Rhonin? I know it's not necessarily long but he's my favorite mage in lore and is quite a badass. Keep making good videos!
Not to step on your toes Nobbel87, but Jared was not found until after the Mount Hyjal questline in cataclysm, and the same with the highborn: all during or after cataclysm.
I feel like we could condemn Illidan for trying to kill Maiev and her companions but I like how we (or at least myself personally) can relate to how frustrated he must have been, locked away for ten millennia. The reasons he'd been imprisoned in the first place was mostly due to miscommunication and misunderstanding. I just can't help but sympathize with him in this act. It's inexcusable but definitely understandable.
Love this guy! He knows his old school lore! Glad I'm not the only geek haha. JUST a quick correction though, the high elves ARE Quel'dorei, they separated themselves from the night elves right around the time Illidan made the new lake with his vials. They didn't leave in the best of terms as the reason for their departure was the lack of interest from the druids/night elves to practice arcane magics. Those that remember, the High Elves practiced arcane magic via their Sunwell. In WC3 the sorceresses, priests, and spell breakers are high elves and they allied themselves with the humans. A lot of them went with Jaina to Kalimdor and fought along side their relatives, the night elves. It's at that point in time where Tyrande is drawing her "these people aided us when the Legion attacked". :)) I love these videos!!
hey nobbel two things can you do the lore on the demon hunters and how do the other demon hunters get there eyes and tattoos since sargeras did illidans love your vids keep it up man
I have to ask, when will the Nether Expansion come? I mean seriously can't just keep killing and revivng the demons from the legion, it's like a never ending superhero movie.
What's your opinion on retconing if Guldan raising the Broken Isles from the sea floor? It makes us question how old or how long these races lived here. That or how much of the land was sundered that he raised himself.
hey +Nobble87 ive got a few lore questions (some related to this video, some not) how did kil'jaden appear to illidan after the battle for mount hyjal, as he was never summoned wouldnt some of the night elves remember the pandaren/mogu as the world was once one, meaning that at least some of them encountered each other why is archimond a giant (as we have seen a few times) while velen is normal sized (slightly larger) and finally, what did the earthern/mecha gnomes/whatever else think of the well of eternity/aftermath as we never really hear of them or its as if their world was already broken, which doesnt add up
+Alex Gregory I'm fairly certain that Pandaria has always been separate unlike the other continents (only way it could make sense honestly since Pandaria was conceived much later than most the other lore)
Archimonde is probably a giant because of all the demonic energy that he's absorbed since he joined the Burning Legion. Velen refused to join the Legion
+Adam Laflèche What, were was that confirmed? AFAIK It was confirmed that Illidan will help us and that Maiev will be against Illidan, but I haven't seen anything saying we fight her, let alone kill her with Illidan's help.
I'm actually more sympathetic towards Maiev then anyone else. She was victim of basically everyone else doing shitty things behind her back and choosing personal relationships over what was right.
True
Yeah, Tyrande committed a crime by killing the watchers and she was not punished, she let illidan free. Malfurion and Tyrande are the disguised "good guys".
Illidan killed many Innocents and Malfurion used his political power saved his brother ass from sentence to death and moon slut released illidan from prison when maeiv was on a mission. They are a horrible family.

"Go, Mistress. The Goddess will light our path to the hereafter." MAKES ME CRY EVERY TIME
Celestial Terrestrial my powers will let me escape but i fear it is not the same for you
That whole "Because of you Tyrande is dead!" "What!" Best Line...
Still gives me chills.
Maiev is an amazing character.
I hope to see more of her in Legion. (Also I hope she wont die in Legion.) >.
I kinda like Maiev so far in Legion, she was always an awesome character who was willing to do the right thing no matter how hard it was.
Is Maiev's hunt for the Orb even canon though?
Yeah, is it canon?? I rmb it’s an optional quest in WC3
The idea that Illidan and Maiev becoming a couple is scary. If Maiev puts all of her energy in training and commanding Illidan's forces, they would have ruled against a huge chunk of the Legion. This line alone made it tickle inside of excitement for Legion
Mostly the last part
Oh my god, a romance between Illidan and Maiev.
Perfect.
21:43 that deer is like " oh shit a Corps im outa here "
Maiev holding Illidan with the shackles of Marriage I would pay good money to see that happen
This makes me actually really excited for Legion. I think we're going to see Maiev as a raid boss. :0
Awh man, I just love your vids, thanks for all the fun I've had watching them up to now! Always turn them on when I go farming - always gives me agood time. Many thanks. :) KEEP IT UP!

Blizzard-Making lots of their female characters crazy ever since Warcraft 3! (Jaina,Sylvannas,Maeiv and more!)
In the Warcraft universe everyone is bound to go crazy at some point.
You think we'll see Drak'thul in Legion, Nobbel?
+Gorvar the Dinoman Hard to say, would be cool if they remember him. Don't believe he's done a thing ever since WC3
+Nobbel87 As far as I can tell he hasn't. Would be VERY cool, though. I could see him as a quest giver opposed to Gul'dan, or even being re-recruited by his dark master "returned from the dead".
+Nobbel87 but isnt wod before wc3? if so he could show up
KK one o one Well WoD is over, and I don't think he showed up there.
good point.
What you said at the end is funny, considering it's Maiev who frees them in the end.
Good old warcraft 3
She will be the final boss, and get beat up, dying, but Illidan shows up saving her, both flee!!
i came here because i wanted to surprise my boyfriend with some wow trivia for our anniversary, but this is actually really interesting. I have seen over 40 episodes now and him not sure if its for him or for myself.
"And Malfurion was furious." So...he's MalFURIOUS StormRAGE.
20:45 Literally lore breaking!
All on board the Maiev + Illidan Ship!
I feel after Illidans redemption story I always thought Maiev and Illidan could be a amazing couple, like Maiev for some reason doubt it but falls for him after saving her life from a swarm of demons!
+Vucial Truesdale OMG i wrote this before you agreed with me! lol yes this idea sounds amazing
Nah I think their relationship is good as enemies. Making them couple would be such a Hollywood cliche.
3:35 Great that u said it Nobbel... "Gul'dan raised the broken Isles" ... and now 32 Years later they are full of Life and ancient culture!
+Eric Hertel He only raised the Tomb of Sargeras.
Some info from Dragoncon says that Illidan's going to be leading the demon hunters.
So yeah, Maiev's probably not gonna be happy with us. Oh well!
+Smallsword „Axe put in headerer” Bladefist It wasn't Maiev. This was some different Warden.
+Smallsword “Axe put in headerer” Bladefist that wasnt maiev that was a different warden
+Smallsword “Axe put in headerer” Bladefist that was cordana
+Blues Light Maiev is never happy.
I wanna let u know that you are the best bro plz keep doing work !
I just realized, It is possible that Naisha and the rest of the Watchers could still be alive. We might find them in the next expansion.
Just noticed that Maiev is the same Voice actor as Tsunade from Naruto
I was wondering where the voice was coming from!
omg now Maiev is my fav character and the Maiev and illidan fanship would be amazing.
God Damn goosebumps... Excelent work nobbel
I have this feeling that Maiev might be a boss in legion or a main story boss, but only time will tell.
i watched this video with so much seriusness... until i noticed that Nobbel ships Maiev x Illidan, then i could just laugh... Also thanks for the story.
Now i Know the power behind the words hello everyone. Love Ur Channel (:
I really liked Neva as a character. She was crazy as hell but had some cool one liners cause she wanted some Jarod lol.
Missed opportunity to say "and now Malfurion is Malfurious." I lower my head in sadness at this missed pun.
I commented this on your previous video too, I really want your opinion on how this could work out.

Greetings from Brasil! Thanks for your videos. And your accent is adorable :)
Cant wait for legion and the lore it will bring! Hopefully it will be good.
legion coming out soon, hope to see more about maiev :d
Great video as always!
What we learned from this video: Maiev fucking loves justice.

Nobbel: You're still alive? did she leave without finishing you off? well we can't have that, its not part of the lore "Hammers of wraths executes*
Maiev wants Justice, but considering how blizzard handled Grom Hellscream at the end of Draenor I feel I should quote Tyrion Lannister.
"If you want justice, you have come to the wrong place"
Nobbel do you think we will see the Avatar of Sargeras in Legion, the big surprise that Blizzard told us that will shock us ?
I'm definitely thinking that as well, like we've battled Kil'jaeden, and Archimonde twice, to get a taste of how strong sargares is, an avatar would fit really well, would also give you an insight on how strong Aegwynn was in her prime.
That conversation between Illidan and Kil'Jaedan is why I can only see Illidan as a villain. He served one of the biggest badguys willingly for more power. How is that any different than what Gul'dan did?
He was far from being a hero before, but that scene pushes him into the villain category.
+Bindair Dundat he did it out of fear, he fully well knows that kil'jaedan is much more powerful than he is.
waterman034 And he knew full well that Kil'Jaedan couldn't touch him directly on Azeroth. After all, he couldn't touch the Lich King and needed Illidan for it. If he refused, the best Kil'Jaedan could have done would be to find another "agent" on Azeroth to take care of the Lich King AND Illidan.
Great video Nobbel
In the Warcraft writer defence. After allying with the Alliance who use arcane magic alot it probably seemed strange to still have it punishable by death

Maiev would never love illidan! xP
That Warden armor seems impractical...
+Cuddle Oraque Vacuo Viator All the armor in the game is impractical.
I want the Warren armor for mog
+Cuddle Oraque Vacuo Viator All game armour and weapons are inpractical. Example, glaives are great weapon to injure yourself if used in real life.
+Cuddle Oraque Vacuo Viator Like every other warcraft armour :3
As is most female armors in games.
A prisoner felling in love with the Warden who guarded him. It sounds like some drama materials
You should create a podcast about WoW lore and everything WoW. That would be awesome
can you do like a top 10 list of the most powerful people in wow story? and ofc say what makes them so powerful over others
mmm wonder if blizzard will put something in Legion's Tomb of sagares to make note toward maiev forces that remained as she escaped
Illidan, what a boss!
Maiev is soo obsessed with Illidan but for no reason. She was just his jailer
Maiev became a controlling egomaniac who believed only she could judge the actions of others, and execute (emphasis on Execute) the punishment as she saw fit. She was driven completely insane by the time of wolfheart. I bet shell be the final boss of the dh starting area, and i look forward to bringing her down
Maiev and Illidan sitting on a tree K I S S I N G ^^

I always thought Maiev should be paired with Naisha. That would say a lot more about her as a character, for better or worse.
Maiev is going to be quite pissed when the watchers set free all those Demon Hunters, and since those Demon Hunters will be the next hero class and Illidan will (hopefully) be on ours side, we can assume Maiev will be a boss in Legion.
Nice Video Nobbel :)
Awesome!
I have shipped Illidan and Maiev since I was 8 and I will NOT let my ship sink just because of one measly expansion!
Hey Nobbel (Not Nixxiom, thanks for pointing that out Charles Winters), would you mind doing a video on the story of Rhonin? I know it's not necessarily long but he's my favorite mage in lore and is quite a badass. Keep making good videos!
not khadgar?
+Brendan Kirkland Nobbel has already made a video about Khadgar.
+Daniel Karlsson I meant khadgar isn't his/her favorite mage
+Brendan Kirkland oh
+Ryu Flameheart Nixxiom?
Not to step on your toes Nobbel87, but Jared was not found until after the Mount Hyjal questline in cataclysm, and the same with the highborn: all during or after cataclysm.
I feel like we could condemn Illidan for trying to kill Maiev and her companions but I like how we (or at least myself personally) can relate to how frustrated he must have been, locked away for ten millennia. The reasons he'd been imprisoned in the first place was mostly due to miscommunication and misunderstanding. I just can't help but sympathize with him in this act. It's inexcusable but definitely understandable.
That new expansion is looking promising about the lore
Hah .. Maiev became "VENGANCE", and we hope she wont cause more "HAVOC" than Illidan did ... two sides of new Demon Hunter class :D 13:50
hey where can i find that Arthas vs Illidan quest?
Do the story of Anub'arak or Azjol'nerub next pls!!
would love to see it!
It seems clear at some point we'll have to deal with Maiev. I wonder if she'll be a boss in the Demon hunter starting area...
Love this guy! He knows his old school lore! Glad I'm not the only geek haha. JUST a quick correction though, the high elves ARE Quel'dorei, they separated themselves from the night elves right around the time Illidan made the new lake with his vials. Illidan + Maiev =
hey nobbel two things can you do the lore on the demon hunters and how do the other demon hunters get there eyes and tattoos since sargeras did illidans love your vids keep it up man
Do you think you'll ever do a lore video on the val'kyr?
Love the lore vids even my guildies love it
Good as always Nobbel. That said..before demon Hunters announced. Would you of liked a Warden like class?
Nobble love the videos keep it up 😘👍
I have to ask, when will the Nether Expansion come? I mean seriously can't just keep killing and revivng the demons from the legion, it's like a never ending superhero movie.
the story of maiev aka the story of Illidan and the psycho bitch that wont leave him alone so he can save the world.
"Goodbye brother -- Tyrande, I doubt our paths will cross again."
OR WILL THEY??? :D
What's your opinion on retconing if Guldan raising the Broken Isles from the sea floor? It makes us question how old or how long these races lived here. That or how much of the land was sundered that he raised himself.
Maiev is unforgiving and heartless, I would like to see her suffer the pain of self realization just as it's too late. But then Illidan saves her.
hey +Nobble87 ive got a few lore questions (some related to this video, some not)
how did kil'jaden appear to illidan after the battle for mount hyjal, as he was never summoned
wouldnt some of the night elves remember the pandaren/mogu as the world was once one, meaning that at least some of them encountered each other
why is archimond a giant (as we have seen a few times) while velen is normal sized (slightly larger)
and finally, what did the earthern/mecha gnomes/whatever else think of the well of eternity/aftermath as we never really hear of them or its as if their world was already broken, which doesnt add up
+Alex Gregory I'm fairly certain that Pandaria has always been separate unlike the other continents (only way it could make sense honestly since Pandaria was conceived much later than most the other lore)
Archimonde is probably a giant because of all the demonic energy that he's absorbed since he joined the Burning Legion. Velen refused to join the Legion
Wasn't Archimond granted power by Sargeras similar to kil'Jaden?
VERY intense battle at 17:27
i have a feeling we r gonna have to fight maiev in the new expansion pack. what do u think nobbel?
+Adam Laflèche When was it confirmed?
