This doesn't stop account selling at all, there are other skins that people would pay for, and the fact that Renegade Raider is getting an OG exclusive style just means that there is still reason for people to buy OG renegade raider accounts.
I would genuinely love the battle passes to come back, but I'm not getting my hopes up. S1 was more a shop, not a battle pass. It makes sense they could bring raider and Ariel back.

Skull and Ghoul had OG styles so it was inevitable that they would get edit styles as well.. Epic can’t even do something nice to their original supporters without someone like you complaining

Skull Trooper and Ghoul Trooper got OG styles because they were advertised as “limited time” fortnitemares skins and they brought them back. Renegade and Aerial were part of the Season shop in season 1 and were also advertised as limited time/exclusive.

I think it’s a good thing that they’re coming back bc Fortnite’s not Battle Royale only anymore. Epic doesn’t like the idea of players only being able to get skins by playing br only anymore due to them expanding to the metaverse model w different new models.
Honestly I think it’s really good that pretty much everything has returned. Even if there are “OG” styles being added, everyone can now get the original version of the skin that they wanted in the first place. I don’t think many people will be buying accounts just for a specific style, especially when they are usually not as good as the original skin (purple skull for example, good OG style, but nowhere near as good as the original variant)
I think the point of the OG pass is to make back some money from the many lawsuits they went through. The OG Season shop was probably back for the same reason. As far as I know, I think this is the only time we’ll see them bring back OG items but I’d honestly be fine if they brought Old chapter 1 battle passes. I said this before on a community post but I tried starting in season 5 of chapter 1 but my settings prevented me from playing so I missed out on seasons 5-8. I’m not saying that I’d agree with the decision but if they’re saying “we can do whatever we want” now in their TOS then they are most likely just going to release old Battle Passes
I really don’t think they lost enough money for them to have to do anything to make it back, they could’ve just left the shop as it was and they would’ve made the money back. They just felt like doing this because it’s a big deal and they’re rare skins

Now, she came back "by mistake". They just gift an OG style for OG owners. OG styles are just a compensation for skins that were exclusive. For the renegade raider and the aerial, people thought they were exclusive due to the season shop. Epic will give an OG style (which is really weird cause they weren’t exclusive).

People are so caught up over “og” stuff that they forget CH2 was the MOST STACKED chapter ever. Seriously. There were so many good collabs that still haven’t come back. There were so many good original emotes as well. Goated jam tracks. Plenty of account sellers have stacked CH2 and CH3 accounts that would put “og” accounts to shame. I’m saying this as someone who’s played since January 2018. CH1 didn’t have much stuff in it, most of it was just battlepass stuff, with a few good item shop emotes. It’s only special if you were there to experience it, otherwise why would you choose bland outfits over Travis, Ghostbusters, Street Fighter, Master Chief, Spider-Man, etc.? TL;DR: Account selling won’t stop because there’s much more good/exclusive from CH2/CH3 that haven’t returned and likely won’t return for an even longer time.
Imma try to demonstrate what is happening with Fortnite and if old battle passes can return. First of all, the renegade raider and Arial asult trooper were part of the season shop. Now despite its name, there was no text stating that once the season was over these skins will never return again, that started happening in season 2 of chapter 1. This is why they were able to bring these skins back. However, if they brought back old battle pass skins that allegedly would never come back again, it would legally be considered false advertising and epic would have to pay hundreds of millions of dollars and will probably get in alot of legal trouble. So, old battle pass skins are probably never returning. Holy shit i wrote a whole essay💀

The reason renegade raider and aerial assault Trooper was remixed is because they were never in a battle pass. They already stated each season would have the OG Pass so they had to get creative for season 1. Going forward I believe they will just add the old battle passes each month for each season. As an OG player I have all the beginning ones I missed Chapter 2 Season 2 so I have to wait a year to get the skins I want lmao.
As an account seller, the business of selling accounts is not over, even though Rene and aerial are back they will be getting exclusive style, which people are still going to want, and the exclusives like ikonik and wonder are not coming back for now so I think the business is gonna stay alive. If anything renegade raider and aerial coming back will actually help the selling community because more people are going to wanna stand out from the rest, and that’s what the “OG”style will bring.
I hope they keep Battle Passes exclusive because otherwise, there would be no way for me to show that I have been a fan of the game since the beginning.
Nobody f'ing cares, I've got the Ch2 season 2 battle pass and I want epic to sell the custom styles that I couldn't get. Other people should get them too, I want Epic to sell the black meowscles skin as an individual thing, other variants should be sold individually as well.

As a CH1S3 player, I dont really care if old battlepasses returned and even though they dont need to epic still accommodates og players with og styles, the fact that new players can obtain original fortnite skins while og players keep some exclusively dramatically lowers account selling because not many people are spending thousands of dollars for a skin that they can now obtain just to get an edit style of the exact same skin

No one deserves exclusivity just because they paid for an item shop skin. Exclusivity is when you have to do things like challenges to unlock something because you're going out of your way to get that specific item or skin. Amd epic giving these skins "OG" edit styles is cringe because they're giving special treatment to people simply because they bought something early. It also keeps the market for these skins alive.

i owned renegade and raider revenge before they were brought back and i even have the pink ghoul and purple skull trooper (didnt have aerial assault trooper until now tho) and im glad they return and tbh i wish the og edit styles werent reserved for "ogs" my account has had many attempts made on it to get hacked and ive even had my account locked twice due to people trying to social engineer their way into it, its lame and i think all items should just be rotational in the store so anyone can get it if they so choose to
Renegade raider owner here. Exclusive items to people is about tbe dumbest thing you can think of, you literally are removing the option of owning something from other people for no reason. Black Knight was never a great skin because if was rare, its because it was cool af. The reaper as well, Omega, Ragnarok, Drifter, Calamity, Carbide and so many others. Imagine a kid that can't have renegade raider because he was 5 yesrs old when the skin released. What now are they locked forever? Makes no sense, i didnt buy renegade raider back in 2017 because it was rare, i bought it because everyone was walking around in default skins, and i wanted something else, i also knew that her hitbox was smaller, so i would have a small advantage. I'm glad they are giving the opportunity to others to get it. Now do the same for battlepasses, i really like the Squire Royale and i wish more people these days used it.

I bought renegade raider, but because i always liked that skin. I saw that skin in a poster and liked it, when i realised that renegade was a very rare and impossible to get skin i gave up on getting het, but now i am happy
Nah you’re not wrong, I can’t believe people are ready to drop $40 for like a basic default skin with a helmet or hat. So many better skins and variants droped like the Blaze skin and people still want the old renegade raider. to be honest, i just play the game because I enjoy it. none of my skins' exclusivity matters to me. im not one to flex, even if i had renegade raider og (which, i didn't). besides... the og skins aren't really that appealing to me. yes it was simpler times but do we really need to dwell on the past? Epic does what they want with their cosmetics, and the demand for these two mustve pressured them into doing so other than money. and the return of the season 1 shop is partly our faults. we wanted OG Fortnite, we literally got OG Fortnite.
They should add a skin market like in csgo. It will stop account selling and scams. You can just buy the skin directly through Fortnite and people can put a price on their skins. So technically you can buy any skin but some are more expensive. Fortnite is trying to make a metaverse and having a market is a positive imo. Because there’s a lot of skins that aren’t og but people want for example the Spiderman skin from the battle pass. If battle passes aren’t coming back than that means you can never get that Spiderman skin ever again but if we had a skin market people would be able to buy it whenever they want

For the renegade raider and the aerial, people thought they were exclusive due to the season shop. Epic will give an OG style (which is really weird cause they weren’t exclusive).

People are so caught up over “og” stuff that they forget CH2 was the MOST STACKED chapter ever. Seriously. There were so many good collabs that still haven’t come back. There were so many good original emotes as well. Goated jam tracks. Plenty of account sellers have stacked CH2 and CH3 accounts that would put “og” accounts to shame.
I’m saying this as someone who’s played since January 2018. CH1 didn’t have much stuff in it, most of it was just battlepass stuff, with a few good item shop emotes. It’s only special if you were there to experience it, otherwise why would you choose bland outfits over Travis, Ghostbusters, Street Fighter, Master Chief, Spider-Man, etc.?
TL;DR: Account selling won’t stop because there’s much more good/exclusive from CH2/CH3 that haven’t returned and likely won’t return for an even longer time.

Imma try to demonstrate what is happening with Fortnite and if old battle passes can return. First of all, the renegade raider and Arial asult trooper were part of the season shop. Now despite its name, there was no text stating that once the season was over these skins will never return again, that started happening in season 2 of chapter 1. This is why they were able to bring these skins back. However, if they brought back old battle pass skins that allegedly would never come back again, it would legally be considered false advertising and epic would have to pay hundreds of millions of dollars and will probably get in alot of legal trouble. So, old battle pass skins are probably never returning.

The reason renegade raider and aerial assault Trooper was remixed is because they were never in a battle pass. They already stated each season would have the OG Pass so they had to get creative for season 1. Going forward I believe they will just add the old battle passes each month for each season. As an OG player I have all the beginning ones I missed Chapter 2 Season 2 so I have to wait a year to get the skins I want lmao.
As an account seller, the business of selling accounts is not over, even though Rene and aerial are back they will be getting exclusive style, which people are still going to want, and the exclusives like ikonik and wonder are not coming back for now so I think the business is gonna stay alive. If anything renegade raider and aerial coming back will actually help the selling community because more people are going to wanna stand out from the rest, and that’s what the “OG”style will bring.
Think about it season 1 season 2 maybe black knight will return because Fortnite just gives edit styles so it's basically rare still.

The renegade raider situation is INSANE
No one deserves exclusivity just because they paid for an item shop skin. Exclusivity is when you have to do things like challenges to unlock something because you're going out of your way to get that specific item or skin. Amd epic giving these skins "OG" edit styles is cringe because they're giving special treatment to people simply because they bought something early. It also keeps the market for these skins alive.

i owned renegade and raider revenge before they were brought back and i even have the pink ghoul and purple skull trooper (didnt have aerial assault trooper until now tho) and im glad they return and tbh i wish the og edit styles werent reserved for "ogs" my account has had many attempts made on it to get hacked and ive even had my account locked twice due to people trying to social engineer their way into it, its lame and i think all items should just be rotational in the store so anyone can get it if they so choose to

Exclusive items to people is about tbe dumbest thing you can think of, you literally are removing the option of owning something from other people for no reason.
Black Knight was never a great skin because if was rare, its because it was cool af.
The reaper as well, Omega, Ragnarok, Drifter, Calamity, Carbide and so many others.
Imagine a kid that can't have renegade raider because he was 5 yesrs old when the skin released. What now are they locked forever? Makes no sense, i didnt buy renegade raider back in 2017 because it was rare, i bought it because everyone was walking around in default skins, and i wanted something else, i also knew that her hitbox was smaller, so i would have a small advantage. I'm glad they are giving the opportunity to others to get it. Now do the same for battlepasses, i really like the Squire Royale and i wish more people these days used it.

They should add a skin market like in csgo. It will stop account selling and scams. You can just buy the skin directly through Fortnite and people can put a price on their skins. So technically you can buy any skin but some are more expensive. Fortnite is trying to make a metaverse and having a market is a positive imo. Because there’s a lot of skins that aren’t og but people want for example the Spiderman skin from the battle pass. If battle passes aren’t coming back than that means you can never get that Spiderman skin ever again but if we had a skin market people would be able to buy it whenever they want
