One MAJOR difference from the book is that in the book, Voldemort dies as a human, despite all his attempts to become something more. I agree that reducing to ashes is more spectay, but still...
And one more thing: if you ever gonna rewatch these movies, pay attention to Voldemort's robes. The more Horcruxes are destroyed, the lighter they become. In the first movie, they are completely black (the flashback when Hagrid first tells Harry about Voldemort); in the fourth, when he us reborn, they are dark, but not black anymore (the diary has already been destroyed), and in the very end, they are almost sea green, because what is still alive is a teeny tiny bit

Voldemort being the power hungry, anti-social creature he is, doesn't distinguish between "defeat" and "kill" because to him they are the same, but a wand changes allegiances when you DEFEAT the owner

Oh yes I love that series and unlike the Harry Potter series which was set several decades in the past it the The hunger games is set a minimum of two centuries in the future they never tell us the exact year but based on the type of technology they have and the fact that the hunger games have been around for 74 years in the first movie and before that was the dark days and how many years was Panem around before that so I'd say a minimum of 200 years

It's okay if Griphook takes the Sword of Gryffindor; it is a magical artifact that goes where it wants to.
What I mean is that Griphook won't be able to keep it if it decides to go where it's needed.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Draco's wand's allegiance changed to Harry when Harry disarmed Draco by wrestling it out of his hands.
Harry also received the allegiance of the Elder Wand at the same time; but Voldemort doesn't know that.
And all wands refuse to harm their true masters.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Note that, during the wand-duel between Snape and McGonagall, Snape makes no attack on anyone; all he does is deflect McGonagall's shots and deflects to knock out the Callow siblings behind him. The flip-flopping around allows him to collect the Callows' wands before Snape smashes through the window to escape.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Now notice, when Voldemort reacts to the cup horcrux being destroyed by destroying the protective barrier over Hogwarts, that the Elder Wand 'bites' (shocks) Voldemort's hand and cracks. The Wand does not want to harm Harry and Harry is in Hogwarts under the destroyed barrier.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Again, you don't win the allegiance of a wand, not even the Elder Wand, by killing the previous owner. You win it by disarming the previous owner.
Snape is not the true master of the Wand; Draco was and now Harry is. But neither Voldemort nor Snape know this.
When Voldemort zaps Harry in the Forbidden Forest, Harry is not dead, just knocked unconscious. The last thing Dumbledore set up was a way (with luck or by an educated guess) to keep Voldemort from killing Harry with the Elder Wand. If Voldemort used the Elder Wand to do it, then Dumbledore knew he had to get the Wand to recognize Harry as its true master. The Wand would be quite happy to kill the bit of Voldemort inside Harry but let Harry live Voldemort-free.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Draco's mother Narcissa is quite the subtle badass.
Voldemort inducts Draco as a Death Eater and tasks him with setting up a passage into Hogwarts and killing Dumbledore; she goes to Snape to get him to protect her son from failure and execution; Voldemort could've killed her for that.
Voldemort takes over her house; she sits stoically and bides her time, watching for an out to save her son.
Voldemort asks her if Harry is alive or dead; she asks Harry in a whisper if Draco is still alive; hearing he's alive, she lies to Voldemort's face that Harry is dead.
She knows Voldemort will move the entire army/entourage to Hogwarts to gloat, allowing her to get to her son.
They all go, Narcissa calls Draco over, Harry and Voldemort start their battle, and Narcissa leads Draco the hell away from there.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Yep; Lucius pleading with his son to come stand next to him and his wife, and you can see the contempt in Draco's face; but when his mother simply says 'Come', Draco crosses to her, avoiding any touch with Lucius.
In a deleted scene, when Harry falls out of Hagrid's arms, Draco runs by and throws Harry a wand.
Recall, Harry went out to the Forbidden Forest unarmed to submit to Voldemort, but he jumps up from Hagrid's feet shooting from a wand; it came from Draco.
    _____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Notice that, once the snake is dead, Tom's wand-wielding hand starts to turn black and the blackness starts to run up his arm? The Elder Wand really hates being used to try to harm its true master Harry.

There was a post I saw long ago that mentions that the reason the Dursleys (Harry's Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin) seem to be so horrible is due to constantly being around a Horcrux 24/7 for about 10 years or so, so the resentment they would have had for being forced to involved with the Potter fanily would turn into full-blown hatred due to the negative emotions being amplified

funfact, malfoy didn't have his usual crew to back him up in this movie, since crabbe's actor had to go and get himself arrested irl, so he couldn't be in the movie, and malfoy has that one random black guy with him in his place. worst part is that this is the one where the guy actually would have gotten to do something, since it's actually crabbe who summons the fire snake in the books, against malfoy's obejection at that. it's the one memorable thing his character does and due to his own stupidity the scene went to goyle instead. well, i guess those two are interchangeable enough, most people don't even know who's who of the two. still, seems like the guy got too much into character and decided to become a criminial irl, too.

a quick google search show that it seems he mostly got into trouble for growing weed in his mom's basement (though not with intetion to sell), although there was a mention of him having been caught with a molotov, while looting some store during the riots you mentioned.
hmm, not for me to decide honestly, especially after this many years.
still, sucks for him. even if he wasn't a main character, he was still one of the named characters from the book, which i assume could have opened him the door for making a name for himself going forward.

Oh, man.... seeing Fred lying on the floor in the Great Hall dead is heartbreaking, especially seeing Ron break down in tears. (Hearing that Harry had to sacrifice himself to give them a chance of defeating Voldemort and the Death Eaters didn't help that grief.) Also, I was at the midnight premiere of The Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 3D. The scene where Mrs. Weasley took out Bellatrix got a massive cheer from the audience.
6 points I've made in the past regarding Harry Potter:
    1. The prophecy Professor Dumbledore mentioned in Professor Snape's memory that mentioned a baby born at the end of July was partially true. There were actually two: Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. They were born in the same month and year, but Neville is only 1 day older than Harry. (Neville: 30 July 1980, Harry: 31 July 1980.) Voldemort had chosen to target a then 15-month-old Harry, thus marking him as his equal. Neville lived a life free of that fear with his grandmother, despite the constant painful reminder of his parents being permanently admitted to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries after being tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange.
    2. After the Battle For Hogwarts, George Weasley could never cast the Patronus Charm again, since it relies on your happiest memory to work, and literally ALL of his happy memories involved his deceased twin brother Fred. Most likely for a while, until he married Angelina Johnson and named his son after his twin. (According to The Wizarding World website)
    3. Voldemort's death after his battle with Harry wasn't supposed to look like he got snapped out by Thanos, and it wasn't just them isolated in the courtyard.
In the book, Harry and Voldemort battle for the last time in front of everyone else, resulting in Voldemort dying as a mortal man once Neville sliced off Nagini's head, effectively saving Ron & Hermione in the process.
    4. Harry didn't snap the Elder Wand in the book version. He mends his original wand (the one he got in Philosopher's Stone from Ollivander's) with it, then returns it to Professor Dumbledore's grave.
    5. I give HUGE props to Narcissa for straight-up lying to Voldemort after Harry confirmed that Draco was alive. It shows that neither she nor her son wanted the Death Eater life.
    6. That one goblin who stared in shock as the Ukrainian Ironbelly busted through the floor of Gringotts seriously looked a bit like Donald Trump. 😆🤣

Welcome to the end of this cool journey!
Huge difference with the books: Voldemort, in the books, does not feel anything when a horcrux is destroyed and that Harry does not recognize them by "sensing them" but by having seen them in memories which, in the sixth film, were cut.
Another big difference: this movie isn't clear enough in explaining why Voldemort is defeated. In the books there is no challenge of magical rays between him and Harry, Voldemort casts Avada Kedavra but the wand, having slipped from his hands, hits him with his own spell. Voldemort at that point falls dead and does not disintegrate in the air: the book wants to make it clear that, despite his desire for immortality, he has always remained only a human being and as such he dies, an inert body on the ground.
The reasons are explained in a part preceding the battle which is wonderful: Harry speaks to Voldemort explaining to him what happened with Snape and telling him that for that reason he is about to lose. Throughout the dialogue she treats him like what he is, a person incapable of understanding, calls him "Tom" and demeans him in front of everyone who is watching.
A moment that is actually very important in terms of impact because it empties Voldemort of his aura of fear, making him go back to being "Tom", just a murderer who doesn't understand humanity.
Here the text, because it's VERY cool:

the snape thing really confused me. when i found out that his patronus was a doe and saw his memories i thought "is he really harry's father?"
snape deserved better in life. he was bullied by james, lost his crush to him, and then had to spend his adult life protecting james' son, only to get unalived by voldemort to save him.
it was hard seeing goyle not make it. yeah he was annoying but him and crabbe always felt like the comical stooge antagonists, like team rocket from pokemon or bulk and skull from power rangers. when he set the room on fire and ron ran away it felt comical like old times when they were little children, then it took that dark turn when he fell. it was almost like the movie showing us "this is ron and goyle acting goofy and childish like the 1st movies, and then this is them facing adult consequences of their actions in the final movie so it's going to cost goyle his life.
the thing about neville is that there's a theory saying that he was the chosen one and not harry. either that or they both were candidates. he fits all the same requirements that they said harry had to stop voldemort.
the only thing that i didn't like about this movie was that dumbledore didn't come back as a painting. when he passed away in the halfbood prince i thought "well he could come back as a painting at hogwarts", but he never did. he could have come back as a ghost or something.
