I made a comment on your alphafly 1 vid earlier and then I saw this. Had to watch and comment because I got this for free from the outlet after I bought that AF1 and another shoe. I haven't been running for long so I have barely any experience with running shoes. It felt good enough for me to use as a daily trainer. Definitely felt better to my inexperienced feet than the one I was using before and to think I didn't have to pay for it. 😅
Been getting on reasonably well with mine and have done 57 miles now (all running) including a 16 mile steady run and a session of 20x400. Been also wearing my one remaining moderately used Turbo 2 a little bit for comparison. One thing (which you alluded to) is can feel my toes in both. I might call this “ground feel”. The new one I feel is a little firmer and is a little heavier (albeit somewhat less than my other Nike non racing shoes) but certainly feels has a similar vibe. Also after those runs in the Turbo 2 maybe there is an element of seeing older shoes through rose tinted glasses. We are getting so “spoilt” with super shoes and otherwise ultra soft foams that feeling the road a bit is kind of a forgotten experience. I like a bit of that (especially going faster) but maybe not every run. Maybe the Speed 3 or Adios 7 is a more “sensible” option but for some reason these bring more of a smile to my face. I decided to cut my laces as had to pull in the tongues an awful lot for my narrow feet but now feel “locked in” fine. Due to that ground feel am finding them great for some gravel like surfaces on old railways round by way - a surface I used a lot with the originals. I did a couple of full marathon training runs in the originals - part road, part that old railway surface. TBH fitness and lack of current need is preventing me trying longer than that 16 miler right now but they “worked” and legs were OK to run again the next day. Just don’t expect Invincible type “squish” in these or Alphafly/Vaporfly race performance although my 400 reps were OK and if I could have run a second quicker in one of the latter two there was no “prize” on offer so doing as it were.
I prefer the somewhat firmness in this and like you said I think back then the lack of better shoes made the OG turbo look better then it was . And maybe the memories of it where better cause of it. Now it's just a nice daily trainer
@@bsmoov7 it may be due to the expectations behind it. people love the peg turbo 2, so when nike advertise this as a new peg turbo, with all zoomX, people expect it as good (or better) as the peg turbo 2 for faster paces and maybe as light (or lighter, now that it is all zoomX, although scraps of it). so it may be a simple case of reality not align with the hype. maybe if nike advertised it as a new daily trainer lineup, people's perception and expectation won't be as high, and accept it better. maybe.

@@EDDBUD think you’d enjoy them Edd. Great lockdown and feel more cushioned but still as lightweight as the Mach 4. To be honest the first road shoe from Hoka I’ve really enjoyed 👍🏻
I was really hyped to get them so was ready to give them lots of leeway as aesthetically I think they're fantastic but yeah, the shoe just feels boring. It doesn't propel or do anything and it just feels a bit dead. Other ZoomX shoes don't have this problem so it must be down to them glueing bits of zoomx together that they found behind the fridge. Mine are taking a road trip with royal mail back to Nike HQ tomorrow.
Did 4 runs in them (4x20Km) and after 60Km they have broken and comfort wise they have been improving a lot. Performance wise, it’s very difficult to compare them to the Turbo2…Regarding the upper, to be honest It accommodates my feet very well… I would be happy if Nike comes out with a non-nature version (no recycled ZoomX).

Just got these at a Nike Factory store for only 40 ish earth credits after all the discounts. For that price, these are an amazing pair of daily trainers. I'm very happy.
I’m glad I got these to be honest, I agree with pretty much none of what you said Edd they’re superb shoes. And after running in my turbo 1’s I honestly prefer these, nostalgia is quite a drug I think? To be honest the turbo line was never a “fast” shoe for me and I always ran faster in the streak series. Maybe I just do better in firmer shoes either way I love them. I agree they’re an awkward shoe to get on but with my wide feet I don’t need to tie the laces super tight and my foot doesn’t slide to the front, it’s a perfect fit. As far as the looks I don’t buy running shoes just for the aesthetic look and wear the naff colours if they discount them from the popular colours. Thanks for taking the time to review them Edd it shows that we all like and benefit from different shoes. Keeps it from being boring.
A very disappointing shoe. After running in the v2 again it made me realise how backward the Nike daily shoes have gone. Hence my saw action in the invincible run custom video. That said everyone is different and that makes the word a rich and exciting place.
I visited the Nike store today, picked up the Peg Turbo Nature, looked at it, examined it, squeezed the scraps then squeezed the carrier foam (quite squeezy I thought), pondered, then put it back on the shelf without even trying it on. I'll wait until it's reduced a few or more months down the line.
Bought them a month ago (2023) it was on clearance! The shoe itself was about 47-51 and with a Nike discount I got them for 33! I later found out they were $150 and I was shocked! I definitely wouldn’t have paid $150 for these shoes but they are definitely worth $33 🤣
Ed, maybe you should exchange your pair for a new pair? I have not experienced any of your issues with the Turbo Nature. Sliding around, not a great lock down, inconsistencies between left and right? Not at all. We are all different, but you may have received a dud. I have the endorphin speed 3 and other more squishy shoes, but why is softer better? Now, I do think the endorphin speed 3 is a better shoe but I crave a slightly firmer shoe mixed in my rotation. This one (and tri noosa 14) is perfect. I'm a fan.
I feel so validated with your review. I've come to really value your reviews, so thank you. And I am just not a fan of these shoes after 55 miles. Not only that, I got a pain in my ankle the last time I wore them. But everything that you stated in this video is what my experience has been. They feel dead and just flat...they are rigid...and they are very difficult to get on. It isn't a pleasant shoe to wear and I'm sorry I spent $75 earth credits on them. But as you suggest, I think I probably will start using them as walking shoes. But what a disappointment as I had high hopes that they could be a speed training shoe. I'm so happy I bought the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 for that purpose. It seems you like that shoe just as I do.
Given the lackluster reception this shoe has received as a performance runner, I'm hoping that it hits the clearance store at some point. I have a feeling it will do well as a casual shoe. Frankly, the design looks like Nike took the Space Hippie 01 and Pegasus Turbo and created a Frankenshoe out of it.
