this 335i has the N55 right? How do you think it compares to the N54? I had a e92 335i with the N54 engine, but unfortunately I wasn't lucky with the reliability compared to friends with the same car and engine haha
@@ltpotatoecho6475 yep it does. It’s more reliable than the n54 and sounds incredible. People say that the N54 is more tunable and can make more power than the N55 and they’re right, but the N55 can handle 600+ whp with an unopened motor which is more than most people would ever want.

Once I get the valved MPPSK exhaust (I already have a catless downpipe) it’ll be very close. I can’t recommend the B58 enough.

if you wanna push this car to even higher horsepower, have you consider octane boosters? I see in US is highest 93 (which is 97,4/98 euro), but in EU we sometimes use for tuned cars 100 octane(eu) to better protection against knocking (about 95,5 in us metric)
Maintenance is expensive if you don’t know how to work on cars. I have a N55 ewg almost 80k miles been tuned on MHD no problems . Obviously take care of the car and do regular maintenance
i just dont get why mentioning 93 octane....like....95 is normal for us, the everyday normal guy petrol. 98 also used by a wide variety of people, and ofc there is 102 which is what we use, for modded cars etc. since 95 vs103 be depending on the vehicle, between 20 to 50 hp more

N54 has that issue too. It only happens tho in n54/n55 if u drift often or take high g force turns (like on track). Can be prevented with an M2 oil pan & secondary oil pump upgrade. Costs around 2k but still cheaper than a engine replacement and its what bmw did with the m235i racecar.
Its bullshit, same as the HPFP issues if you use 91 octane fuel and dont let it get under a quarter tank it will last. My 335i has 209,000 kms and its on the original HPFP and has not skipped a beat. Use the correct oil and maintain your car properly and 99% of issues are gone with these cars.
Why you choose Bootmod3? I'm thinking about MHD and Bootmod3 for my 2013 F30 335i. That's N55 PWG. Everybody is talking MHD is better for N55 PWG and BM3 for N55 EWG. What do you think? How much horsepower you got on BM3?
I was given a Bootmod3 license to test out, but MHD is a great option too! The car was never put on the dyno for an exact HP reading, but approximately 80HP gain.

Would it not be better to run the car on higher grade fuel? The lowest octane rating you can get here in Germany is 95 and I prefer to put 102 octane in my f33 435. You would surely notice a difference in performance if you went for higher grade fuel... That said, your car does go like stink - even with below standard fuel!
@@simonbttger5630 nope, its a myth. us fuel is just calculated in a different way. 91 octane fuel in us is the same as 95 octane in europe. i do belive (im european) that some american gas stations have even lower octane than that, and that many american cars can run on a lower octane fuel. however they also have race fuel at many gas stations that is better than the best we get in europe(where im from) which is just shell v-power 100 octane. fuel quality is also the same, why would it be worse in the us?

Very impressive transmission! I serviced it with a kit from FCP Euro and tuned with BM3 for stronger clutching. Almost feels like a dual clutch!
Have a 330i 2018 and I love it it’s tuned and everything every time I drive it it drives like a dream

Cant confirm Oil starvation on mine N55 (70k Miles), you should replace the bearings if you go above 500whp with VAC's
