  • I show how to open up and remove cd's from a 2003-2007 Honda Accord factory radio. This is the factory Honda without navigation or screen. This was the coupe model, but I believe that the sedan radios that looks similar, and should be the same procedure.

I buy a couple of those mini-organizer boxes in the auto section of the dollar store. Then each layer screws I take off go sequentially in each compartment. Then, when reassembled, the order of compartments is reversed. That way I know each removal layer got all the screws back in before I move on to the next compartment/layer. Puts an end to the "uh-oh. Two screws left over" dilemma.

My 2004 Honda Accord 6 CD changer went haywire last summer. It would only play 1 cd, and if I tried to insert a second one, it said busy... Watched a video today, and someone said check the radio fuse, it was burned out. I replaced the 10amp fuse, and now it accepts more than one cd, but it's still a bit funky.... but at least its working better than it was....

When I took apart this radio, it seem like the ribbon for the CD changer inside was not even plugged in, but I wasn’t 100% sure. When I tried to re-insert the ribbon, it didn’t seem to want to stay in place. Like the locking mechanism was broken it was really weird. I actually had a used Honda factory radio with Bluetooth module, and I ended up putting that in.

That doesn’t make sense that a fuse would let it accept more cd’s. But if it worked, well you lucked out

You can try disconnecting the car battery for about a minute. Make sure you have the security code just in case you need to input that in when you turn on radio. If its the 6 disc one, sometimes they do reset, but not always. Those have alot of issues with the cd section. You can look for a used one on ebay if you want to retain the factory look. Just make sure they give you the security code if you buy one.

If the screw heads are striping they may be JIS instead of philips .there is a difference

These were not stripped, just smaller sizes.

There’s a process to obtain the code without calling Honda dealer
