This is why bowlers like me get nervous when AMF (now Bowlero) purchase more and more bowling centers. I read that AMF acquired Olympic Lanes in 1998, and that was the last year for the PBA stop there. But Bowlero has acquired the PBA in recent years as well, so I guess them buying your hometown center(s) could now mean BETTER odds of a PBA tour stop coming in. Who knew 🤷♂
John McDevitt I would not be surprised. I know that Tom Baker used it in the TPC during the fall tour a couple of months after this tournament. I recall Jim Pencak rolling the Cobra in some TV appearances as well.
Scott Devers: 185 Bob Benoit: 179 Mike Edwards: 211 Scott Devers: 178 Joe Berardi: 220 Mike Edwards: 195 Joe Berardi: 210 Marshall Holman: 209 Berardi Wins!
I like KNBC.
nooo guppy troup getting knocked out of 5th place :(
Berardi must be the luckiest bowler in history.
Ah....Beautiful Olympic Bowl in Rochester NY. It is now a parking lot. Thanks AMF.
I am currently uploading the 1991 telecast from this center. It is currently uploading and will be processed and available for viewing momentarily!

Signature win for the AMF Cobra by Joe Berardi in this tournament. Pete Weber won with the Cobra at the US Open in 1991.
I think this is the very first tournament in which that ball was ever used!

Yes he did. He used a dull one to win the National Championship. So now we all know when the Cobra first premiered!!!
It actually premiered in the summer of '89. There was an ESPN telecast where someone was using it.
Did anyone have a more manned up, testosterone fueled release than Devers? 🤣🤣
WOW!!!! What a crazy finish!!!!
it was an exciting title match between Marshall Holman and Joe Berardi
Douche

Joe berardi threw a clutch double and 8 pins to win the Budweiser challenge
46:17 Johnny Dancing
Joe Berardi puts a tremendous amount of roll on the ball.
