- Billy Barty is the surprise guest on this 1960 episode of "This is Your Life." Also appearing are Mickey Rooney, Spike Jones, James Melton and fellow "little" stars Jerry Maren, Billy Curtis and "Little Billy" Rhodes.

When I was 10, Billy Barty was at a carnival across the street from my house. He greeted me as if I were a close, personal friend and shook my hand. That's the kind of person he is.

Billy was an amazing comic actor, from the time he was a tyke...
That, and every time he fired a Pistol, into the Ceiling, Ten Pounds of Asbestos,, fell, into his Lungs.
This might be James Melton's last TV appearance, as he passed away the following year, and I can find no later appearances than this one. He was one of the greatest tenors of all time.
Just in case one would wonder, Billy wasn't married at this point. He would be married within two years.
Kind of strange to see Mickey Rooney standing next to someone shorter than he is.

My mother once remarked that if Mickey Rooney was my age, we would have made a good couple. Mr. Rooney was a bit too old for me, sorry to say.
