Hi Lucy, just want to say thank you for all the videos you do. We have just come back from 10 fantastic days on your wonderful island. We stayed at the Intercontinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort for my partners 70th birthday. What an amazing place. We swam with dolphins in Tamarin, had lunch on ile aux Benitiers, swam with Giant Turtles in Trou aux Biches, walked with Lions & Zip lined at at Casela Nature Park. The people we met were so friendly and helpful. If it wasn't for your videos we might have been lost. We look forward to more videos and thanks again for helping us coose Mauritius.
Hi Lucy - my research for a hotel when I get there has ended thanks to you... I notice that the kids have grown up and am happy for that. Merci beaucoup!
Thank you so much for this video Lucy! Going to this particular hotel in late jan/feb to celebrate my 40th with my family. Now I am looking even more forward to the trip/hotel, what an amazingly insightful video about the hotel and activities to do around it!
@@RobAmos-zv3tl It was great! A bit too pricey now in retrospect. I mean don't get me wrong it was a great hotel, but super freakin' expensive and I would not say that it was worth it, price-wise. The general atmosphere and the layout of the hotel was really cool. Staff super friendly. They almost every night had a corner with Indian food which was great.
@@daol84 Thanks for letting me know! looks like 7 days all inclusive is coming out at around 2k per person for April/May time, would you say that is similar to what you paid?
@@RobAmos-zv3tl 2k in what currency? :) We were a family of 4 (2 adults + 2 kids) travelling from Sweden to Mauritius and the hotel was all-inclusive. We paid about EUR 8 000 in total and it was actually for 10 days. You pay much for the 5 star hotel being 5 stars. 5 stars often equals certain types of facilities to be able to get 5 stars. I am confident I could have gotten a 4 star hotel instead and equally good, but for a much cheaper price. This particular time I wanted to treat myself a bit extra for my 40th. I will probably never again stay at a 5 star hotel if I am to pay it myself, simply not worth it.
Everytime we go to Mauritius, we go to the hotels in the West or the North. However, my now Fiancee suggested we visited Long Beach and it was incredible. So much so that the next time we came, we planned to go there with the rest of my family. Unfortunately, we tried booking too late. We still ended up going next door to Solana and then went to swim at Long Beach.
Thank God that my second hotel for my family trip is Long Beach hotel…. After seeing your report about this hotel I get more excited to visit it very soon
On this video it is the first time that I see a green lizard. Are there snakes and any poisonous insects and reptiles on the island? How about vaccinations for going to Mauritius like tetanus, and such. Thanks again for a well thought and detailed video of a top notch beach and resort.
Hi Lucy. I am planning my honeymoon for 2025 and am looking for affordable, best-value stays. I love what I’ve seen from long beach, but am concerned that it may be too windy here on the east coast during May 2025. Do you have some insights around the winds during that time of the year?
Hello! It’s normally starting to be windy then. Trade winds are from the SE. I’d try Flic en Flac - La Pirogue, Hilton or Sugar Beach. The other option is down the point at Le Morne (a stunning beach) - Paradis or Dina Robin. Wishing you all of the best.
Looks stunning! Are the restaurants at the luxury hotels open to non-hotel guests? Ie once we move to Mauritius can we make bookings at the hotels for breakfast/lunch/dinner or do we have to book to stay at the hotel to use the facilities? Many thanks!

Thank you for your review. I love Long Beach. It was a wonderful journey for myself and my nieces. I based myself on your review. I got there in June.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Fantastic video this used to be my favourite beach as a child before the resorts, thanks Lucy

I thought we should avoid staying in the east during winter due to strong winds...? Thanks for sharing!
There was zero wind last weekend, but usually there is. The weather is very odd!
What month was this filmed?
Great vid we are looking to go what is the night time entertainment like?
Hi Richard. Have a look at their website. They usually have a weekly schedule of events.
Looking to book longbeach in for January

Me and my dad just went to long beach and went on the hobbycat and broke the tiller😅
Oops 😬
Hi Lucy! One question? Are there a lot of jelly fishes during the summer season. If so are any dangerous jelly fishes like the box jellyfish present?
Hello! No jelly fishes are not so much of an issue here. 👍🏻
@@LucyLeheilleix thanks!
Was this a paid for stay? We stayed at the Paradise Cove adults only resort recently and it was hard to fault it
Hi, are there genuinely lots of dogs around the beach and resort, around the pool etc?
Not really no. I saw 4 dogs while there.
What is your take on the Ravanela Attitude hotel. I've looked at their website by I am not sure if it is worthwhile
I haven’t heard of that hotel. Sorry
What time of year did you go ❤
April. The best month here (in my opinion).
Looks stunning! Are the restaurants at the luxury hotels open to non-hotel guests? Ie once we move to Mauritius can we make bookings at the hotels for breakfast/lunch/dinner or do we have to book to stay at the hotel to use the facilities? Many thanks!
Hello! It depends on the hotel, but from experience, most are only available if you’re staying there…
@@LucyLeheilleix Ok, thanks for the feedback
What is the cost per night? Thanks.
Do check out their website as rates change depending on seasons.
Are the water sports free?
Hello! Yes, all sports activities are free.
@@LucyLeheilleix thanks Lucy. You have great material on Mauritius, enjoyable to watch.
Thanks very much 🤜🏻
