In India, a wedding is more than the holy union of two people. It is an opportunity to celebrate and indulge. For Indians, no celebration is complete without guests, music, dance, lights, dazzling clothes and the most important of all, lots of delicious food. For the guests too, the first thing that comes in the mind seeing an invitation card is the food. In fact, often the looks of the card is used in gauging the quality of food that is likely to be served at the wedding. The party thrown at a wedding remains etched in the memory of the invitees forever and mostly, the social status of the hosts are decided on the basis of the delicacies they offer.
A Big Fat Indian Wedding is incomplete without serving some finger-licking food to the honourable guests. Earlier a Halwai along with his team used to take care of the entire menu but recently professional wedding caterers have replaced them in the kitchen. Latest food trends with international dimensions and unique exhibits are sizzling up the wedding venues these days. Well, the new food format and exotic world cuisines are fine, but it is essential to keep our Indian palates satisfied with the desi lip-smacking food from the galis (streets) of India.
If you think you have a choice in taking your pick at the party, you will be surprised to know that despite the various counters at the venue, you will find the same dishes haunting you at every wedding. You guessed it right - it has to be Pani Poori, Chicken Butter Masala, Biryani, Jalebi, Gulab Jamun, Dal Makhni, Tikka, Malpua always.

I am a Bengali...In our marriage we serve lot of Non veg delicious like Fish,Mutton Currey,Chicken,egg devil etc.....Why there is no Non Veg food in This Weeding? I do not like Veg food...........
