you always seem to be playing with positive people! Maybe you should make a vid on how you playing partner can affect your round. also I love your channel you get my psyched to play golf! Since your scoring and play style are similar to my own, if I really focus on your shots and round Its almost like playing without being on the course if that makes sense. So watching you makes me better at the game! Thanks Adam keep doing what your doing I recommend you to my buddies on my golf team.
I think when you say I don't know what it is at the end of hole 16 it is all mental game. You are good enough to hit that shot on the green (moving the cart may make it an easier chip🤣) Love the content👍
This is the course I grew up with! As a kid before the course was finished I used to sneak on and walk the three ocean holes over and over again before I would get kicked off. Sometimes I’d get 18holes in that way.
Great to watch. Your distances are somewhat same as mine. I also like to putt it when I am around the green. And a fellow Canadian as well! Keep it up. Your story is a real inspiration.
Played this course every year on vacation for a while. Conditions looked a little rough in spots on the collars? I remember the green's fees used to be like $75 and then suddenly one year the St. Regis bought it and they were like $275 the next for the exact same course. I remember wailing at a driver on the signature hole and it bouncing off a tree and the cart path and ending up 5 feet from the hole for eagle.
Great vlog and course! Relatable, and fun to watch, as a I wait for the local courses to finally open. Keeping my head when things aren't going my way is one of my biggest faults. I'm way too hard on myself sometimes.
New subscriber here. This is my 3rd season playing golf. Last season i was all about going for it and not playing it safe. I reacently found your channel and now im trying to play more like you! Keep up the content
Adam. I love your channel. I think you should emphasise that there maybe other seven handicappers that bomb their drives 260-280 yards, but not on the fairway and more particularly they lose one ball per round, so they are back on your radar, and if they lose two balls per round, then you will beat them!
Great round Adam! Curious: Do you ever have issues with recording and the group behind you? I’m just trying to get started on my channel and a lot of the courses I play are pretty busy… I’m a little nervous on recording tomorrow :)
Course looks like a lot of fun!! I like the elevated tee boxes!! There are some holes out there which are really attackable!! Adam nice rouond of golf too!!
Super relatable. Love this channel. Bring that 7 index to Texas (North Dallas) and play with my skins group sometime. Validated skins. Fairest game I’ve ever played in. 😀👍🏻
Man you really spent the day at the beach on this one. 78 is always a good score and if your putter had cooperated it would have been much lower. Another great vlog, keepem comin.
Difficult to say! I've only played in British Columbia, California, and a little bit in Arizona/Nevada. My default answer is Pebble Beach - the 6th to 10th holes (+ 17 & 18) are easily the best stretch I've played. But in California I really enjoyed Spyglass, Pasatiempo, Stanford, The Olympic Club (I only played the Ocean Course, not the Lake which has hosted several US Opens) and Torrey Pines, as well. In BC, my favorites have been Sagebrush, Greywolf, Victoria Golf Club, and Capilano.
You are thoroughly entertaining to watch sir. Keep up the good work and if you were ever to come to the uk it would be an honour to have a round with you.
You always seem to score well even when not playing your best 👏 I think the Waldorf used to be the St Regis? I played this course many years ago when attending a financial conference.
I'm 60 and don't turn in cards anymore so I don't know my actual handicap but I usually shoot 85-87 on 6200 yd courses so I think we're close. I found that when I move up I actually play a bit worse. I let the short yardage get in my head and play way too aggressive which gets me in trouble.
I'd *love* to do a proper trip to the Island this Summer. I've only ever played Victoria Golf Club (an all-time favorite of mine) and a 3-day tournament at Gorge Vale, which I also loved. If you were building a perfect 3-day trip to the Island (not afraid of 36-hole days), what would you recommend, Brandon?
@@NotAScratchGolfer Storey Creek just south of Campbell River is a very fun track. The Bear Mountain courses would also look nice on camera. And if you're ever here in Tofino, come play at Long Beach Golf Club. Probably not one you'd film but it's a tough 9-hole test.
Bear mountain golf course do the valley course and also the mountain course if you can. Olympic view is another good course and I also really like highland pacific all the courses are 15 minutes apart from each other down in the heart of Langford/Victoria! Haha thanks. Did we chat there on the practice green? If so, nice to see you here! I do hit a low ball but I notice that the shot tracer app tends to make it appear lower and the ball flight time shorter.
Thanks, Bryan! Indeed, for the last couple of months I have been sharing rounds that I played in California over the Winter. Some real gems in the mix!

Bud, I love you channel. It really makes me think on how I can help my friends with the same issues (Import ego right here, but honestly.) I think it would be so freaking cool if you took a lesson from Grant Horvat (good good golf). I can’t be the first person to say this, but both of your channels would THRIVE from your collaboration. The traffic of the TH-cam channels is not the main goal, but the over all intention of helping higher handicap play better golf is. Yes the path to hell is paved with good intentions. Think on it, but it’s not a bad idea.
Have you ever thought about trying the other Canadian, golf Swing, Moe Norman single plane? All your punched style shots, with a shorter stiffer swing are the ones that go straighter at the target, the loose full swings (Driver) are the shots that put you in trouble. If you swung single plane style you would shorten and tighten up the swing and maybe get better results. Especially off the tee. Ay?
Good observation, and love the reference to Moe! We spell it, "eh," lol. I do admire Moe Norman. But to quote my friend who's a teaching pro, "any time I've seen you try to divert from your natural swing, you turn from "not a scratch golfer" to "not a golfer!"" Perhaps if I were serious about practicing I could make a change, but I'm pretty content to hit the course with what I have. Inasmuch as I like to challenge myself to shoot the best scores I can, I'm really just out there to enjoy the golf course. Practice feels like work to me. I don't like work :p
that 4th shot on the 16th could not have ended in a different way. Theres no way you could have commited to it properly with the moped parked right in front of you
Love your channel Adam. I play off a similar handicap and also had health issues in the past so can relate. Just one thing on your commentary (and apologies if this sounds rude) but you talk in the "We" a lot, when you really mean "I". For example, "We made a bogey here" or "We get out of this with a par" or "We hit only a third of the greens in reg". Sorry for being a pedant on your use of pronouns - everything else is superb! 👍
