      Hindus have always been monotheists, because there is only one omnipotent creator in Hinduism who is called Ishwar, without a shape or form, eternal, most just and most compassionate and most wise.
      All the worshipped beings that have shape and form are called Devatas and they are created by Ishwar. Ishwar encouraged them to be worshipped.
      The difference is unlike the Islamic depiction of God who is jealous, cruel and filled with egoistic huvris (no offense, same can be said of many Hindu devatas, and I love Allah anyways), Ishwar who is ACTUALLY, THE GOD...
      Doesn't care who you worship or don't worship, encourages you to worship whoever you want, because he says since everything in existence is dependent on him, worship out of true love and admiration always goes to Ishwar.
      Ishwar decides your afterlife based purely on how just and righteous you have been to other sentient beings all your life, not based on your worship.
      Ishwar is free from and beyond egoistic huvris, jealousy and cruelty of any kind. If Ishwar cared who you worship or don't worship, Ishwar would never be the most just and most merciful.
      So in other words, Devatas are worshipped, anything can be worshipped, but that doesn't mean we believe in an infinite amount of Gods.
      Because in Abrahamic sense, God means the creator, you can't separate the two.

    1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
    2 The same was in the beginning with God.
    3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
    4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
    5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
    6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
    7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
    8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
    9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
    10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
    11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
    12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
    13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
    14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
    15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
    16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
    17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
    18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
    19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
    20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
    21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
    22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
    23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
    24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
    25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
    26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
    27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
    28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
    29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
    30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
    31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
    32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
    33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
    34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
    35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
    36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
    37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
    38 Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
    39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
    40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
    41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
    42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
    43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
    44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
    45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
    46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
    47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
    48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
    49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
    50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
    51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

    I present to you the creed of St. Athanasius.
    Whoever desires to be saved should above all hold to the catholic faith.
    Anyone who does not keep it whole and unbroken will doubtless perish eternally.
    Now this is the catholic faith:
    That we worship one God in trinity and the trinity in unity,
    neither blending their persons
    nor dividing their essence.
    For the person of the Father is a distinct person,
    the person of the Son is another,
    and that of the Holy Spirit still another.
    But the divinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is one,
    their glory equal, their majesty coeternal.
    What quality the Father has, the Son has, and the Holy Spirit has.
    The Father is uncreated,
    the Son is uncreated,
    the Holy Spirit is uncreated.
    The Father is immeasurable,
    the Son is immeasurable,
    the Holy Spirit is immeasurable.
    The Father is eternal,
    the Son is eternal,
    the Holy Spirit is eternal.
    And yet there are not three eternal beings;
    there is but one eternal being.
    So too there are not three uncreated or immeasurable beings;
    there is but one uncreated and immeasurable being.
    Similarly, the Father is almighty,
    the Son is almighty,
    the Holy Spirit is almighty.
    Yet there are not three almighty beings;
    there is but one almighty being.
    Thus the Father is God,
    the Son is God,
    the Holy Spirit is God.
    Yet there are not three gods;
    there is but one God.
    Thus the Father is Lord,
    the Son is Lord,
    the Holy Spirit is Lord.
    Yet there are not three lords;
    there is but one Lord.
    Just as Christian truth compels us
    to confess each person individually
    as both God and Lord,
    so catholic religion forbids us
    to say that there are three gods or lords.
    The Father was neither made nor created nor begotten from anyone.
    The Son was neither made nor created;
    he was begotten from the Father alone.
    The Holy Spirit was neither made nor created nor begotten;
    he proceeds from the Father and the Son.
    Accordingly there is one Father, not three fathers;
    there is one Son, not three sons;
    there is one Holy Spirit, not three holy spirits.
    Nothing in this trinity is before or after,
    nothing is greater or smaller;
    in their entirety the three persons
    are coeternal and coequal with each other.
    So in everything, as was said earlier,
    we must worship their trinity in their unity
    and their unity in their trinity.
    Anyone then who desires to be saved
    should think thus about the trinity.
    But it is necessary for eternal salvation
    that one also believe in the incarnation
    of our Lord Jesus Christ faithfully.
    Now this is the true faith:
    That we believe and confess
    that our Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son,
    is both God and human, equally.
    He is God from the essence of the Father,
    begotten before time;
    and he is human from the essence of his mother,
    born in time;
    completely God, completely human,
    with a rational soul and human flesh;
    equal to the Father as regards divinity,
    less than the Father as regards humanity.
    Although he is God and human,
    yet Christ is not two, but one.
    He is one, however,
    not by his divinity being turned into flesh,
    but by God's taking humanity to himself.
    He is one,
    certainly not by the blending of his essence,
    but by the unity of his person.
    For just as one human is both rational soul and flesh,
    so too the one Christ is both God and human.
    He suffered for our salvation;
    he descended to hell;
    he arose from the dead;
    he ascended to heaven;
    he is seated at the Father's right hand;
    from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
    At his coming all people will arise bodily
    and give an accounting of their own deeds.
    Those who have done good will enter eternal life,
    and those who have done evil will enter eternal fire.
    This is the catholic faith:
    one cannot be saved without believing it firmly and faithfully.

      Because Jesus said before He went to heaven .
      I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh
      In the Book of Acts in chapter 2 is written about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
      He gave His spirit to us. Before the outpouring , all nations where gathered in Jerusalem according to the Bible so that they could give an eyewitness account .
      They saw the spirit with their naked eyes.
      Jesus is God in the Flesh.
      He came as a man into the world so that He could identified with men .I know that is hard to understand because the natural man can not understand the things of the Spirit. The carnal mind will always try to find a way to reason.
      Christianity is about faith.
      Faith is the evidence of things hope for.
      There is only one God .
      Lastly if you acknowledge that the Holy Spirit is God than Jesus is God because it is His Spirit.

    I said, "And sometimes the water is contaminated and has bacteria and other elements in it." I went on to ask him this: since when did we start comparing the Creator of the universe to water?!

    The trinity is like thinking of water, which can be found in three forms: liquid, solid (ice), and gas (vapor), but it's still water. Similarly, Christians believe that God is one essence, yet exists as three distinct persons. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, but they are not three separate gods; they are one God. It's a core belief in Christianity, emphasising the unity and diversity within the nature of God.

    If you look at it from a sense of duality then yes they are all different. But in the eyes of those who are spiritually aware. There’s only one God who is all 3 at the same time. He is all 3 and 1 at the same time. This perspective of duality which perceives that God is seperate from the creation cannot comprehend such a concept

  • @PierceJackson-t4p

    God is unlike anything in creation, so the best God that best fits that description is the triune God - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We see unipersonality everywhere, so I would argue that he is the one putting constraints on God. Of course if we assume that God is just like us, then it will be difficult to accept.

    It is easier to understand the trinity when you understand the “why?”. According to the Christian Bible, why did Jesus have to live life as a human being if he is God.? What about the prophecy by the prophet Isaiah that “The Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call his name Immanuel (which means “God with us”)? Here it is saying that God is giving you a sign through the virgin birth, yet the one who is born will be called God as well. But the distinction is that he is with us

    Christian’s need to explain that if Jesus is eternal, meaning that he has no beginning and no end. Then where did the “Father” get the “Son” from before the creation of the universe? Note: The host Virgin Mary did not exist before the creation of the universe. She was born 13.7 billion years after the Big Bang. Some 2,000 years ago. And if the “son” came as the “flesh.”. Then WHERE did the “Sons” spirit come from before the creation of the universe? Where did the Father get the “ sons” spirit from without the host before the creation of the universe?

    The Bible presents God as one Being, who exists in three distinguishable Persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three Persons in the one Godhead are coeternal, coexistent, and coequal. In other words, there are three "eternal distinctions" in the one divine essence.

    I always find it fascinating how Christians need to do a mental gymnastics to understand their own book eventhough according to their own Bible, there is only one God, God cannot be a human being and the concept of trinity is not in Bible unless you do a triple jump and 360 flip and misquote a quote or two (out of context) only then you can find the trinity.
