    Witness statements:
    Gilliant Grant- www.covid19inquiry.scot/sites...
I was provided with a document at a meeting I had with one of the solicitors. The document was the DNR but this had my name written on it. I was shocked as this was the first time I had seen this document and did not even know it existed. I had never had any sight of this document before meeting with the solicitor. Initially it was thought a DNR document had been signed by my mum. This is incorrect. There is no signed DNR by my mum. The DNR had my name on it. I had never given permission for the DNR and I am very shocked and upset that this has my name on it. I do not understand it. The DNR is incomplete. The first part of the DNR asked if the patient authorises the DNR. This part had been left blank. The next part asks if the welfare attorney/ guardian authorises this and has my name written next to it but it is not dated.
The part below that is signed by the GP and is dated for 2 November 2020. On this date my gran was showing only very mild signs of COVID symptoms. My gran suffered from mild dementia but had enough capacity to make her own decisions. I was asked about a DNR but categorically stated that I was not prepared to make any decision on a DNR if she was not critically ill and I knew she could make these decisions for herself. I was very clear and strongly worded on this with the care home.
I think this conversation happened on the 2 of November 2020 and this is the date of the DNR. I think this is very important to include because I am shocked that this document exists as I had no knowledge of this before being presented with it and I had never authorised a DNR but this has my name on it. I would be happy for the inquiry to be provided with a copy of the DNR. It was also stated on these records that we did not wish her to go to hospital and this was also untrue. I stated on several occasions that if she deteriorated I wanted her to go to hospital immediately.

I'm a senior now. But when I was in middle school there was a book in the library... an Eastern European tale of a remote village. That story has stuck in my conscious all these decades:
The older parents would take the grandparents out into the woods during hard winters for the fear of not enough food for everyone. One child cried as his father was strapping a grandparent into a sled to take out into the woods for the wolves. In a last desperate bid for mercy, the child told the father to make sure he brought the sled back. "Why?" "Because I will be needing it when you grow old." The father hid the grandparent away in their home. As the winter worsened, the grandparent told the father how to get more food for them. His 'old knowledge' worked and saved not only the family but the entire village.
I get the feeling that this story is no longer related to students. Certainly not to those who are now politicians?

This is the reason stories like this endure. They remain in the psyche's of mindful people, such as yourself. It's a human dynamic that is applicable throughout the ages. The truth cannot be suppressed for very long. When history is ignored or not examined, It will become a recurring phenomenon. The "Misappropriation" of power corrupts.

@@williegillie5712 Resuscitation guidelines are a highly emotionally charged issue. We all want our loved ones to survive. The harsh truth is that they will probably not. Heroic interventions rarely save the patient. The success rate of resuscitation is at best 5-10% ,even less for long term survival. Even less for elderly patients. Around 0.25% for elderly patients with infections. The long drawn out death of general Franco is an example of how extending life by heroic intervention is sometimes possible but not desirable. I am not an expert on the ethics of resuscitation, but as far as I understand the medical decision making guidelines, they try to avoid general Franco situations as they are of no benefit to the patient. Resuscitation protocols exist for this reason. Suing doctors who follow guidelines is a fruitless endeavour.

And he wanted to be resuscitated should it be necessary. He was told, the decision not to resuscitate was nolonger up to the patient. He wanted to leave the hospital on hearing this, but was persuaded to remain. He was dead by the morning. I believe he was part of a government programme to get rid of sick elderly people.

My friend went in to see him at the end of her shift, stopped short of entering his cubicle as she heard a 'doctor' saying "Why don't you want a DNR, you are being selfish, letting your family go through watching you slowly die and suffer. If we put the dnr on and you also decided on no op or further treatment, we will make things happen quickly with no more suffering for you or your family." By this time her uncle was crying. He went on to ask about my personal circumstances with regards to who lived in my household, who should be contacted if I got covid and needed hospital treatment. Then he asked if I understood what DNR meant . I said yes, to which he required to know if I would or would not wish to be resuscitated in the event that becomes an issue. I was horrified! I told him so and made it crystal clear how I felt about his intrusion as someone I'd never met, his callousness in the way he persisted "explaining the government's plan" and that all he was doing was fearmongering. He was left in no doubt that if I did die under these circumstances, I'd haunt him for the rest of his life.

The term "illegal" is a reference to contract law where judicial proceedings are property based rulings for breech of contract. Unless one declares themselves property to the corporation (government), 'legal' is the wrong jurisdiction. "Lawful" justice proceedings are based on the inalienable rights for life, freedom and liberty to self sustain without contract. The BAR (lawyers) can only rule in favor of those presenting contract of duties (government). Ignorance (of the masses, not you) to know the difference between 'legal' and 'lawful' is the greatest enemy facing mankind.

My husband was a public sector accountant for decades until 2019. He said that the UK (and presumably other prosperous western nations) had a major pensions crisis ticking time bomb because the post-war WW2 baby-boom generation, now pensioners, were outstripping the working population ie more money would be going out in pensions and healthcare from the public purse than workers paying taxes going in to the public purse at an unprecedented and unsustainable level. Therein lies a MOTIVE. There were no COVID tests in the UK in 2020 and GP's were not permitted to see anyone with COVID symptoms, therefore care home patients were diagnosed in 2020 solely on symptoms by a GP remotely, often only by phone with no visual observation possible. The government's end of life care protocols replacing preventative and appropriate virus treatments, plus early batches of vaccine rolled out to the elderly cohorts first in late 2020 early 2021, according to the Danish study, comprising the majority of serious side effects, in addition to the increased legalisation or euthanasian in western nations like Canada, and even throw mass migration of working populations, all create a set of circumstances that, when put together, do feed the suspicion that killing off the elderly and replacing them with working age adults is part of a global trend. It's as though people are being treated like cattle, herd us, reduce the quality of the food, make battery hen houses or high rise with little or no outdoor space, sanitise them medically, make them work and cream off the taxes, transfer the public purse in to private venture, then cull the weak and elderly when they become an economic burden. It's not only inhumane, it's EVIL.

She also had been in the hospital previously a month prior from falling as her knee gave out and hit her head and needed stitches. She just turned 69 and lives in Western Canada. The ER doctor asked her if she had thought about having a DNR on file. My sister said no. He again persisted with pushing the DNR as she had been in the ER the month prior. She again said no, she had no intentions as she has 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren. Again, he persisted and asked her did she know that if they had to recisitate her they may break her ribs! She finally said, no, and he left with telling her she should really think about it. After sharing the story with my grandson's mother she told me they have been more or less pushing euthanasia on the elderly in Canada. How frightening is that and I was witness to the conversation between this doctor and my sister in that ER! What is this world coming to?

I will say this again. My grandpa tripped and fell on the floor and was unable to move for 3 days. When we found him the first concern was getting him water and calling an ambulance.
When he arrived at the hospital they were talking about the DNR and we said that we wont sign such a thing. When he became more responsive and basically capable of understanding everything which took a day or so, they asked him. He yelled I WANT TO BE REANIMATED which is what we call it. Several weeks later my aunt (his daughter) asked him if he wanted to be reanimated or not and he then said he did not want to be.
So in the 2 weeks he was at the hospital they had convinced him to essentially give up on life. I found that very concerning.
Same thing with his wifes sister (which I also call aunt). She signed a DNR and the ambulance and everything was there as her heart gave out while attached to the heart monitor and they did absolutely nothing. Obviously as to why... but you sign it for fear of being a vegetable. In this situation it would have taken about 15-30 seconds to attach the defibrillator and fix the issue. Chances of her living through that would have been fairly decent I would think.
The DNR is evil. The people pushing it are also evil.

This is very similar to my families experience when my 86 year old mother went into Hospital in the UK in Kent.
We found out our Mother had a DNR notice in place, which we queried with her, although she wasn't suffering from Dementia she was confused at the time due to an infection.
When we asked her if she new what a DNR was, she answered no. I queried it with the medical team pointing out that she was confused at the time of admission, the comment i got back appalled me " She is 86, she has had a good life its time to let go" my sister's daughter who is a palliative care nurse asked is my Nan actively dying, not at the moment was the answer.

Where I live in wales, they have “Nil by mouth”. Above the patients beds.
I went to visit my mother with my step father in hospital. She was heavily sedated. I noticed that sign above her bed and said to my step father. Is she going down for an operation, where he replied “I don’t think so”. So I summoned a nurse and ask her, she then got a doctor to see me. When I ask him, is she going for an operation, he remarked “no”. I knew then what their game was. I immediately got the hospital to have her sent back home, where she recovered for a while. Because she had carers coming everyday to see her. I know they jabbed her as I found a syringe on the floor. I know they finished her off, but I can’t prove it. She was 80 yrs old.

I keep banging on about this but here goes....
My mates mum had a lung condition and had to be admitted to hospital.
In no small part because they adamantly refused to provide her oxygen at home for her chronic lung condition.
Despite being frail, elderly and feverish, the staff tried to pressure her into signing a DNR when her family went home.
There were people visiting her every day, multiple times per day, but they seemingly deliberately waited until she was alone to do this.
When they arrived the next day she was in a state of distress about this, and the family complained.
With no covid mitigation in place on the RESPIRATORY WARD, inevitably she caught covid again.
Within 48hours of getting a positive covid test she was dead.....
Covid takes 48-72hours to show SYMPTOMS and it certainly doesnt kill people in that time.
Basically the second she showed symptoms they put her on end-of-life care, took away her oxygen, dosed her up on opiates and put her down like a dog.
Ebola takes longer than 48 hours to kill you yet the hospital just seem to arbitrarily terminate her the second she caught covid.
Her family seem to have high levels of trust in the hospital staff but Im furious.
They just dont seem to appreciate that she was euthanised.
Personally, I think the current generation of hospital staff have seen so much death that they have become numb to it, and are now habituated to showing callous disregard to the value of human life. These days it seems to be "lets kill off that old bint and free up a bed"

I got a tag to wear, that says "DNR". I was working in an OR as an assistant/scrub tech and I happened to mention it to an anesthesiologist. He laughed at me and said...Ha...ha...If you drop. we are calling a code. Since I was already close to 80, I thought it should be my decision. Well, evidently, I was wrong. That is right now, my decision "DNR" as I am now 82. In the state of Tennessee, such decisions can be hand written, without the need to have any MD sign. Same goes with a living will. We are leaving other people out of that. My opinion to "save" people is simply profit to be made by hospitals. I also believe in euthanasia and feel very strongly , we should have it. We currently see hospital bills, in the US , in the millions, as their mark-up is astronomical, so these poor people end up homeless. Where is humanity ? It is not in forcing people to have interventions they do not want. We are organic material with an expiration date, like the vegetables in the grocery store. Let's not get confused over what we call life and the necessity to maintain it, at the expense of the people, who do not want that assistance. That same hospital fired me for refusing the jabs. I may have been old but I made circles around younger people. They took the jabs. Ha...ha...ha......No more contact with any of them. I lost all respect in these hypocrites.

Choosing DNR and forcing it on others are two different things......like End-of-Life Euthanasia and State Supported Euthanasia.

One thing to choose, another to implement it upon others. Especially when some simple antibiotics could have saved them, but were withheld.

If you are so keen on euthanasia and think people should have it then please feel free and lead by your example! It always baffled me that those who advocate euthanasia want to convince others to have it instead - so much for a freedom of choice and seeing intrinsic value in human life.

When I asked the registered nurse, at my mother’s nursing home, if my mother had any breakfast this morning. She said no, my mother is on nil by mouth. I was shocked, as I had power of attorney and no one spoke to me about the decision. Later I spoke to her doctor and she said they didn’t tell her about that. My mother died 3 days later.

Had to get them off the system "for the common good." Every healthcare provider understood this. Pension funds were being drained, healthcare costs were skyrocketing.

This is still happening in Scotland . Patient care is non existing. My mum in hospital recently the first thing I was asked and pressured for was a DNR . All medical care stopped , I couldn't get her home ,no hospital bed available for ne had to hire one. Worked all her life treated the same way as during covid. She cost care 9 hours a week, I did the rest .

I had a relative in hospital who had a DNR illegally put on his record. The terrible thing is, during the so-called pandemic, DNRs became very common not just in the UK, but across Europe. WTF is going on?

I came across this so many times while working as a care assistant during COVID, many clients became extremely upset when they found out that a DNR had been put in place without their knowledge or consent, I tell you this was widespread and they got away with it

My neighbour's husband was allowed to die in hospital during a health crisis that should not have been fatal, due to a doctor on the ward having signed a DNR in secret and completely against her wishes. Multiple complaints to the hospital and the health authority were ignored. She never got over it. From a bright, active, strong minded and intelligent person she became diminished - a mere shadow of her former self. It appears that it is impossible to bring anyone to account for it.

NHS put a dnr on my wife, city hospital Nottingham, I complained to the registra, he said its his decision not my and that he would remove it for 24 hours, on her return home the visiting nurse found it still in place, I asked her to remove it.

My dad was in hospital on the Isle of Wight in December 2020 (not with covid). He was isolated from his family and very ill and was persuaded to sign a DNA. Several months later, he told me that he would not have signed it if he had been feeling more himself. I suspect that this is not a problem specific to Scotland or the covid era.
