At this point, I am really grateful and appreciate Tatang Robin and teacher Hongganda for picking Pablo as the leader of SB19. For sure, they saw the leadership skills in him aside from his talents. Pablo is indeed a good leader. ❤

As for me, I think it was the best decision who Tatang Robin chose as members of SB19. It was a real inspired choice. Even the decision to do another audition instead of looking within the pool of talents that he already had, which led to Ken joining the group, seemed like
Ken was pre-destined to join the group.

Hi! 🙂 To Hurraira's question, "Do Filipinos not have an ego?" Lots of them do, most of us probably, I'd say. (I've definitely encountered some of those types, like the supervisors that Hurraira mentioned.)
It's just that Pablo and Josh and Stell and Ken and Justin are EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE -- exceptionally GOOD PEOPLE -- actually, they're exceptionally GREAT PEOPLE. More than the already amazing range of their musical and artistic talents, it's truly been their personal qualities -- fiery PASSION, steered by idealist PRINCIPLES, backed by strength of MIND AND WILL, grounded in LOVE for and pride in where they came from -- that have totally won me over. ❤‍🔥 I've NEVER seen anyone more worthy of being called pop "idols" and "kings". 👑
And, as Hurraira has been mentioning a lot recently, it's wonderful and encouraging to see that the five have met and gathered like-minded people around them in 1Z Entertainment. This was the first time I've heard Yani de Dios speak at length -- and I'm SO pleased to see someone who's so in tune with Pablo/SB19's vision as the head of 1Z's day-to-day operations and providing support to these artists. WOW, it's just so breathtakingly exciting and ... I don't know.. inspiring and hope-giving, I guess ... especially as a Filipino who yearns to see my country uplifted. 🇵🇭
🙏 I wholeheartedly wish that SB19 and 1Z succeed, and (selfishly) that I live to see the days when they fulfill all of their -- and our/A'TIN'S -- dreams!

With this, 1Z and SB19 hàve already secured a spot in the history of Phil music industry.
It's really a blessing in disguise that they wènt thru so much hardships and challenges in the early years of theiŕ careers. It's for this.. to create a legacy of artistry in the most humane way possible. I wish i could have a peek into the future and see the fruits of their labor. 😊💙

SB19 is not just a P-pop group who wants global recognition but a visionary from the very start. Their love for each other as brothers and their vision for the Filipino entertainment industry make their bond stronger so as to make a difference and leave a legacy of example in terms of discipline, dedication, professionalism, humility and good moral values for the next generation of artists. ❤❤❤❤❤

Did you know that A'tin in x were 💔broken when Pablo said that bit, " If SB19 weren't able to make it..." Oh heck no! We will not allow it! They will make it, that is my goal, too, dear Hurraira!❤

In the case of the screening process, I think the Korean method of starting with a big group going through grueling training and then weekly weeding out who they think does not measure up, however brutal that system was, was really effective in choosing the SB19 members. It will show who are team players, those who will shine, those who can persevere, those who are resourceful, who can work together well, etc. Considering that this is what they went through and what made them what they are, “babying” their new group might be counterproductive.

    • @imdreamingofawhite
      @imdreamingofawhite 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Maybe they can come up with a happy medium. Enough challenges to test boundaries and self-imposed limits, training and inculcating what true professionalism is, etc and still maintain a healthy working environment.

23:53 Let me stop & comment here too because you are soo right. When this interview came out, I was really already looking forward to what you’ll say. So, yeah, I dont mind you pausing & providing your input. That’s what I am here for.
To answer your question - I think Filipinos do have their (our) egos. I encounter a lot of people who are power-trippers. Those kinds exist too. Our pride can even be more uhm, scary? …because it’s covert. 😅
1Z & SB1 are just extra-ordinarily humble beings, an exception to the rule, a phenomenon. That’s the only explanation I can give you for now. Because even in other PPOP groups, there are still talents whose fame has gone up to their head after becoming a celebrity. Our boys, on the other hand, are just so lucky & blessed, and I guess - after the bashing & hurdles they had to go thru - are constantly reminded to keep their feet on the ground, to stay humble. Their famous line (& concept/message of Mana), “mata sa langit, paa sa lupa”. (Eyes to the skies/dream high, feet on the ground).
Plus, they have surrounded themselves with people who for sure keeps them grounded & grateful. Then there’s this strong, nurtured bond with A’Tin that makes them real & transparent to us - they’ve been so open to us that we look at them like real friends. They got us into their zone. So, when they talk, they don’t exude ego. Instead, they ooze with humbleness, selflessness and being down-to-earth.

I think it was at the recent Billboard Philippines interview of Pablo and Yani - no video, just an article and pics - where Pablo revealed that, contrary to popular belief , they have not undergone the proper Korean training method. Because they've been asking some of the Korean groups how they were trained and, by comparison, SB19 were trained in the basics with only one Trainor for the overall (Hongganda). No subject matter expert, so to speak. So, I must say, that if they grew by leaps and bounds, specially during the pandemic, it was because they trained themselves or maybe took the initiative to look for proper training outside. This group... I'm at a loss for words. ❤

There are a lot of egotistic Filipinos out there, especially if they hold a certain position. However, Sound Break 19 (SB19) isn't just out here to break the current norms in Filipino music but also to break the processes of the music industry. They saw how poorly trained and prepared some artists are because they just do what is being dictated to them by their label. Josh touched up on that in his Dougbrock interview. Now that they have a chance to recreate this environment with the inputs of the artists in mind, it will only flourish from here.
As a sidenote, this is how I pick the right company to work in. I make sure the leaders know me, talk to me, ask me how they can improve. I wanna feel I'm not just a number, that I matter in this company. Looks like the new groups that will be formed in 1Z will feel valued like that.

    Logging in...😊
Hurraira I have a hack about how to deal with kpop comparison thingy. Every time I encounter something like "kpop wannabes" comment, I'll just think that my taste in music is just very advanced compared to them.
I bit of a background about how I've come up with that thinking. Here in ph, around the time when kpop wasn't very well known yet, kpop fans like me experienced that "baduy" (not cool), "parang bakla" (like gays), "ang kapal ng makeup" (full of makeup) comments from people who don't accept kpop yet. thankfully those harsh comments didn't reached to our idols. Then the bandwagon has come and kpop has become so massive and very well-loved by Pinoys now. I didn't ride the bandwagon, I came ahead of it. Now, that PPop is not massive yet, and I'm pretty sure it will be, I'm already here. So let's just wait for the cycle to be completed and be ready to welcome the PPop bandwagons when it comes...😊

For me, this Rappler interview isn't just about 1Z's upcoming girl group. It is Pablo and Yani inspiring me to become a better person myself. I feel so empowered after watching this like I can break norms and change the world too. They are setting an example on how it should be done. Hi hurraira... i think they will not do it as a reality show because reality shows tend to prioritize one's popularity over talent and character and personality... and i think that SB19, who is not a product of reality shows, will agree that a reality show mighy jeopardize the process of picking real talent and great character... sometimes, only those that see them everyday and training with them can identify their work ethics... that audience might not be able to identify.... but, i believe vlogs relating to the training of the girls would be nice.... btw, im a silent fan of yours and also an A'tin ofcourse...

How come that this man wearing coat with jeans and shirt and is wearing a shoe that has the back part of it tucked in able to create a new genre of music, build his own company and is planning to build a next generation of talents from the genre they created. This man who was once an innocent being in the person of Sejun is not innocent at all, he's a beasts in creating grande things. He's a high caliber man that those simpleton/haters look like a laughable trash when they attempt to hate on him and his group.
