the romance option for the traveler is more likely to be added at the end of the game and mihoyo company knows that this option is the healthiest for everyone because all players have different preferred waifu to be Aether's girlfriend or characters to be the Lumine's boyfriend and mihoyo know that the choice of the traveler's girlfriend has to be to the taste and preference of each player, several games have this option but it is not unlocked until the end of the game

At the time, Chongyun assumed they were going that way to get the living room. Also, Shenhe had small feelings for Aether, which Chongyun though was just a platonic friendship.
Chongyun: “No, they can’t be doing it! Aether wouldn’t do that, would he?”
Chongyun walks back to his room and tries to fall asleep, which takes a while. What was actually happening was that Aether was playing Mario Kart with Shenhe and teaching her how to play.
