If you mean the Rogue Squadron from Legends, than definitely Rogue. More experience. Better overall pilots. Poe might be individually better than most pilots but as an entire unit I would lean heavily on Rogue because of experience. Plus the X wing novels rock.
I enjoyed TFA my first time seeing it. I was mixed on TLJ. That has changed since I have seen them multiple times. I think TLJ especially could have made some minor changes that would have improved the film dramatically. My heart still hurts seeing Luke be such a grouch on the big screen.
I agree that it could have had a few changes like removing some of the humor and adding some of the deleted scenes. And I have have come to accept the canon after Endor Luke.
