This is a wonderfully useful comparison and you've delivered the unique characteristics of both models with great skill. Would it be possible for you to compare the PMVC 4 AL/M2 with another popular Alnico P Bass Pickup (e.g. EMG Geezer Butler or a Fender Pure Vintage '63)?
It would be fascinating to see how similar/different they might be.
    Many thanks in advance.

      よかったです!!ありがとうございます!!!
      ダンカンとか有名どころはたくさん動画があるんですが、どうしてもDelanoのAL/M2は見つからなくて買ってみるしかなかったので、PU選びの参考になれば幸いです!!

Thanks for the demo! I’ve been looking for a shootout for years on these two sets. I’m a bit surprised based on the description of the FE and the AL. To my ears the AL sounds like it’s less compressed with more grind and clarity. Where the FE seems a bit scooped and a little darker. I would have expected the exact opposite.

I also heard that, and based on my experience, this is actually what I expected. Also, more pronounced attack and richer mids on the AL, more even, clean, but a little hard sound on the FE. I prefer the AL.

@@VeitLehmann Right! I have an FE that I have going into a friend’s precision bass project. So I guess I’ll be able to check it out first hand soon, but if the demo is accurate I’ll be picking up the AL for myself.

@@dltdltd823 I recently switched the stock ceramic pickup of my Aria Pro II RSB Standard to an AlNiCo5 pickup from an FGN Neo Classic Precision that was in a friend's bass. Okay, this is comparing apples to oranges, but I experienced a similar change in character, but much more extreme. The resistance of both pickups is similar with around 12.5 kOhms, but the FGN pickup sounds much more open, dynamic, rich and has better attack. The ceramic one was much darker, heavier on bass and low mids, and much louder. Turning the volume up is easy, shifting the sound to what I like is not, so the FGN pickup was a massive improvement for me!

@@VeitLehmann I think I’ve become more attuned to what tones I prefer after a lot of trial and error. My guitars of late that I prefer tone of are between 9k-12k, so more of a low mid to mid output. I recently picked up a guitar with a 17.5k output and have a hard time enjoying the tone. It’s ceramic but has a lot characteristics of an active pickup, sterile and cold. I tried a set of EMGs and EMG-X pickups in couple Fender basses years ago and absolutely hated them. Even when playing heavier music I think I prefer a more dynamic tone.

      Thank you for comment!
Yes, they both have great tones and it's hard to choose one...
The PMVC 4 AL/M2 is more faithful to the original sound of the precision bass but has more power, while the FE/M2 has a characteristic powerful and little hard tone that is not typical of precision bass.
      I like both tone.
Now I mount the AL on my bass.

Same here. They sound richer and brighter to me, with more character, and less compressed.

    FEのほうがちょっとフラットな感じ?がしますね
    ALのほうがスラップしたときの音がいいかも
