The tip about not staying in one place resonated with me - just left a job as a senior SE where I loved the domain but felt like I was stagnating in my learning. Moving onto new things
Made the right move. Wishing you all the best!
This new style of video suits your personality very well, not only was it informational, but it was highly entertaining as well, 13:30 " The Groceries have to rest " 🤣🤣🤣
🤣
I need a mic for what I'm about to say: more of this style of video. Felt like I was watching Casey Neistat but with your amazing personality in the driver's seat. It was entertaining and sprinkled with gems. There was never a dull moment. WE WANT MORE OF THIS
Thank you very much bro!

Oh wow, you’re from Jos, that’s amazing… cheers from a fellow J town guy, Jos to the world 🥂👊🏿
I liked that it wasn't only a "Day in The Life" video, but you also gave very helpful tips, great content man!
Glad you liked it!
I like this style
Its my first time to see a "DAY IN A LIFE " that is informational, most of them starts with frying eggs or alarm clock. You started with value and everything else was interesting to watch cause it felt like an interesting short break. I am a developer from South Africa and a fan of your channel
"Frying eggs and alarm clock" 😭. Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
Jos man 😅
Thanks for this video. It helps
these kind of vids are nice bro
Thank you
I just finished at my bootcamp. I need a mentor
great content
Thank you
Cool vid bro.
I thought you'd be driving a Tesla to commensurate mentioning AI lol
How much have I watched of the video so far? I've just heard the first point "understand the abstract topics/concepts"
How much do I agree with the whole video including clips i haven't watched? 1000%
It’s great that he didn’t start with himself waking up because I don’t know why people do that😂
Thanks for sharing an inside look, Uma.
I just wanted to know some specifics in terms of how you strengthened your fundamentals --> especially with Javascript and react.
Did you focus on coding exercises or build projects?
Cheers bro ! 💪
Building projects all the way
*SCREAMING📢📢 * WE NEED MORE OF THIS!Absolutely beautiful video. Here's the thing, I an not even in IT but I learnt a lot from the tips you shared!
You gave such a funny personality, thanks for sharing that side of you with us, it was entertaining to watch. 😊
The bonus clip at the end was 🤣🤣🤣
Glad you enjoyed it! More to come
those missed layups are a crime. just subscribed 😆
😭 gotta work on the left hand
You should have started with network because in my experience that is the most important part of your career and after about 15 years in tech, my biggest regret is not realizing that earlier.
Great call out!
Great video very informative... Is it just me that noticed he wore a wrist watch on each arm 😅😅
Top view but I just clocked, you and Jaylen Green from Boston Celtics are doppelgangers
Really, Jaylen Green, I get Joel Embid a lot more
@@Umacodes Also him too hahaha
Please guide my son here.Should he enrol for Bsc Computer Science or Bootcamp or Certifications?
Keep going bro do you need a vide editor bro!!,
I can do a SAMPLE video
This is anecdotal to my experience but a few managers I've spoken with have said that come layoffs they prioritizing keeping people with more domain knowledge which usually puts frequent job hoppers on the block. I'm not saying to stay at a company for 20 years but unless you've got a super niche skillset the impact you make in the first year will probably be limited. Again this is anecdotal but in my experience interviewing job hoppers many who have a senior title are unable to go deep on what they actually did and contributed if they were at a company for less than 2 years. My advice is to consider moving within your current company or org. Generally those moves will come with a title change and salary increase as well as a bit more security because of the domain knowledge you have.
This is a very valid point.
Under normal circumstances, the people with the most domain knowledge of their products or services are kept, however, the recent layoffs don’t seem to follow this trend. They seem to be random. I’ve heard from friends in various companies that had principal engineers laid off. A lot of times, the direct managers do not have a say on who is getting laid off.
Still very valid points.
Bro i am a complete beginner . Is it ok if i start with javascript before html and css ?
i just subscribed
you are tuff 🏀 I like this new format, maybe just a little too long, I think over 15 min for vlog kind of video is too much for my small attention span
Noted. Thanks for the feedback
how much can you have at mont's with this work?
How exactly do you get mentors because I’ve been lost for a while and I don’t have anyone around me that understands.
It might be time to look outside your immediate network. LinkedIn is a good start. Connect with people who have interesting backgrounds and reach out to them. Candoor.io is also a great place. The advisors listed there are looking to help.
How tall are you ?
That meme 🤣
Jtown rep
Switching btw that US accent and african accent
😅
The groceries have to rest is crazyyy 😭
😭😭😭
Did you go to college?
Yes I did!
This is nice content. However, just a funny thought 😅, why'd you wear two wrist watches though. I just couldn't help but ask 😅
One is a watch, and the other is a fitness tracker
@@Umacodes Ooohhh. Okay. Really Enjoyed your content by the way
You mean the devil AI 😅
It’s the tinubu meme for me. 😂
😂
LOL.. He needs some milk
😅
😭😭😭
Has anyone told you you look like Joel Embiid?
All the time. I get that all the time 😅
@@Umacodes how can I get remote opportunities though. I'm from Uganda.
Aptly placed Tinubu meme lol
Sir do you earn 200k dollars a year as a software engineer? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
