  • This video does not do this car justice. These hills are much steeper than they look, and the car did surprisingly well! Go Alltrack go!

    After almost a year and a half I can say that the car is really good for what it is, and I have taken mine down paths that are a lot more challenging than what is shown in this video. I still think a little more ground clearance would be nice, but for the most part, the Alltrack is a solid platform. I have abused mine in the mud, the sand, dirt roads, trail rides and at one point even the snow. It kept up with whatever I have thrown at it, and waited for more.

    I think VW needs to give it more ground clearance. Great car

    What year model is this? I have a 2019 SE and am thinking of lifting and getting burlier tires.

    I love my Alltrack, but a little more ground clearance would be great.

    Hello OrchEnt,
    Could you please tell me what are the rear lights parts references ?
    The exterior ones on the side, not on the trunk
    Thank you !

      Basically, yes. It's the Haldex AWD system. I'm sure it's tuned a bit differently from the factory.

    all track != all terrain

  • @bmwmsport11
    @bmwmsport11 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Those tires are scary thin for that type of terrain

      Yes, if I had an Alltrack I would definitely put some all terrain tires on....

      I don't think I'd take an Alltrack on these sorts of tracks. I think the Alltrack is perfect for added stability on ice and muddy roads but if I needed to tackle these sort of rocky dirt tracks on the regular, I'd look for more ground clearance. It's good to know it can handle rugged terrain if necessary though. Great car.

      @@MLife1972 it can handle more that what they do in the video. I have taken mine in to mud that was deeper, and a lot thicker than what the did in the video, and down roads/trails that my friend wouldn't take his outback down. But it could do with more ground clearance.

      @@South_Texas_Fail Thanks for the reply and the information. That's great to hear that the Alltrack has that ability - glad you're getting enjoyment from it. Definitely on my shortlist now!

    Debating between this or the Outback

    • @WiglyWorm
      @WiglyWorm 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Outback is the closest competitor. The decision for me was twofold:
      1) The SE model of the alltrack has more luxury features at a lower price (and still being manual, which probably doesn't matter to most people).
      2) Subaru is a nice solid car but it really seems to lack personality. The Alltrack is very fun to drive.
      Definitely take them both on test drives. They're both good cars. It just depends on what you want out of an automobile.

      Go with the AllTrack!! The interior quality is better, and it looks much more modern on the outside. Plus Volkswagen has a great heritage and is a QUALITY car that can truly perform in every possible way. Lastly, the Alltrack is like driving a hot hatch, it's awesome. We have owned a bunch of Japanese cars but we just got the redesigned 2018 Tiguan and now I wouldn't purchase anything but a VW. Let me know your thoughts. Is there anything particularly holding you back from the AllTrack?

    • @lordpicho
      @lordpicho 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spencer C the only thing on my mind if the car is heavy enough. In other words, I have a Honda Fit and on the expressway especially during inclement weather it feels unsecure like I’m going to slide into a wall. I want to feel secure on the expressway during inclement weather. That was the only thing I was wondering

      @@lordpicho i would go with the vw. Becaue safety has always been the #1 priority for vw. Their cars are solid and safe. Plus they are very customer friendly company. I dont know if that helped. I hope so and good luck regardless

    It's just a lifted station wagon, not really an off roader per se though it drives well on & off (dirt, sand & snow???) the road

    A two wheel drive could handle that road... It's not all track, it's electric breaking to engage the opposite wheel.. Even two wheel drive have that in the rear now w/ much better clearance.
