    You're going to love this vap I bought one a year ago and we've treated hundreds of colonies. You'll get between 25 and 30 colonies treated with a nine amp hour battery Don't get anything less than that and to clean up is easy but the o-rings have to get oiled after every clean up otherwise they dry up right away

    Jason you are a salesman indeed. I just purchased the same setup that you have. I already have a couple of Milwaukee batteries so this will work out perfectly for me.

      That's great, Jim. I hope to order my batteries very soon.

    I have 27 colonies and plan on going to 50 next season plus raising my own queens. I hesitated on buying the instant vap because of the cost. When I discovered after my honey pull,even though earlier there really wasn't any mite pressure, that I had several colonies that were overrun with mites and I knew I could lose the whole yard if I didn't clean the mites out. I don't like using Amatraz and Formic Pro and Apiguard have a danger of shutting the queen down from laying at a time when they need to be building up. OAV will get the mites under control and not harm the bees. What I have found is by using a sticky board to catch and monitor the mite drop 3 days after treatment you can treat every 4 days until there are no mites dropping. Usually takes 4 or 5 treatments on big colonies and maybe 2 or 3 on nucs. The unit is expensive but I reasoned that losing colonies cost a lot more. Also the traditional treatments were not working or was causing other problems due to higher temperatures and causing the queens not to lay. Last year the Amatraz just didn't kill enough mites, queens stopped laying, and I had several deadouts because there wasn't big enough clusters when the really cold weather hit in January and February. The Instant Vap has been a game changer. I'll hit them all again in November or December when they go broodless and those hives will go into spring with no or very low mite counts.The Instant Vap makes it fast and easy.

    I use food grade grease I bought for my extractor bearings to grease the rings.

    I have the corded one and it works great, I don't plan on switching until this one is broken, If I were commercial then the battery one would be the way to go.

    I love ours but I opted to buy a new ammo can from Atwood’s for $15 ,a battery storage plate off Amazon I cut down to hold 3 batteries for another $12 , drilled holes in a $8 piece of SS and bent it for the inside storage and also painted it bright red so I can keep up with it so for $35 I built my own storage case that holds 3 battery’s instead of 2. Being most bee keepers are DIY’s you can save close to $100 building your own and it took less than 30 minutes to assemble and paint it.

    Ok, you got it!
    I think you will like it. Just have two batteries, one charging while using the other one. I really do like NOT pulling out the extension cord.

    The cheapest battery/charger is one that you already own. FEIW, I checked online and both brands mentioned seemed very similar. Ebay is usually a good spot to pickup batteries and chargers. People will buy kits on sale and sell the kit piecemeal. Often at a good discount.

      @@JCsBees Hahaha. . Nope. Going to add a few stands to my main yard and double up at the farm. I'll need to decide on where to place my NUC stands, so that'll probably be a third location I guess. Thinking at home for the NUC's to make it easy to check them.

    I got mine last week. I don't have enough colonies to justify it, but I don't care😊. I do feel slighted, though, cause I didn't get his fancy business card . Lol. Might check into the ammo case. Never miss your videos.

      @JCsBees  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can send you the fancy business card if you like, I already have Rob's contact info. lol I do agree very fancy with all that blink, blink around the edge.
      I love that you got an InstantVap even though it's not justified. It will sure save a lot of heartache since you don't have to mess with cords.

      @@JCsBees yep the handle bracket could be stouter, but that's my only complaint so for. It cleans up nice w water and baking soda mix. I lease hives, 6 to 12 hives on each lease. No generator or cord for provap. Just roll-up and blast mites. Put an inverter in the vehicle and charge while driving. It is a little slower than provap while actually in use, maybe 20/30 sec. But still a great machine.

    Jason, curious how you keep the nozzle on the AC powered unit from clogging? I have a similar unit, and I have to heat the tip with a torch, because the clogs are relentless. Thoughts?

    • @JCsBees
      @JCsBees  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After a couple treatments, I fill a cap with water and dump it into the vaporizer and that always flushed it out. Keep pressure on the cap though as it always wants to blow of.

    All my favorite youtubers all showcasing the same products. There are some many other products worth looking at that are more affordable atleast for the backyard beekeeper. With some of these products could get tested and shown.
