    I got 3 scarves from Elvis during 2 different concerts... One was the last concert he gave in Indy, June 26,77.. I know for a FACT they did NOT sell the same scarves Elvis gave out at his concerts!! Elvis's scarves were large 33 by 33, and the edges were folded over twice, super nice scarves.. Elvis knew how to hold them and throw them perfect to you, or he would ever soooo slowly hand them to you as the crowd went crazy. Elvis was an amazing showman!! More than that a beautiful man.

      Thanks for that information, however, I was told by Al Dvorin. himself, that there were times when the stage scarves weren't available so he sometimes used the souvenir scarves.

    Elvis on Tour and Elvis in Concert were the greatest events! I saw Elvis in 76 and I bought a blue scarf and a souvenir photo album at the souvenir stand.

    The belt buckle came out on the last tour. You can see it being offered for sale at the merchandise table on the CBS television special. After Elvis died…a company got a hold of the mold and made a tribute buckle. Those have 1935 -1977 engraved on them. The originals were priced at $10 on the last tour…the price of a ticket.

      Yeah, actually after filming the show I remembered that the blue suit book was actually found in the 1971 reissues of the 50 Worldwide Gold Award Hits box set, which had the flexible vinyl records. The first book went with the first pressing box that had the rigid vinyl records. TCB

    The scarves that Elvis wore onstage were the same ones that were sold at the stands…the reason they look narrower is because that's the way they were folded long ways to go around Elvis' neck. The signature scarves show up on the March 1974 tour at the stands. The first time we see Elvis wearing the signature scarves is May of 1974 in Tahoe. My friend Mike Kurosky will soon have a detailed series on all the types of scarves that Elvis wore. Type in his name and you can see the teaser video.

    • @collectingtheking
      @collectingtheking  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not according to Charlie Hodge. But I'm not ruling out anything. I've met fans over the years who got stage scarves from Elvis (in the early tour years) that did not have the facsimile autograph. I'm sure when he ran out of the stage scarves he used the souvenir ones too. Like I said, lots of controversy. Who really knows unless you were there. I'll check out the video. Thanks!

    • @Guitarwizzard1833

      @@collectingtheking I know and my friend that is doing the documentary knows. Elvis wore both the stamped signature scarves and the ones without the signature. One can see both versions in the CBS television special. Like I said above…the signature scarves first show up in 1974…Elvis would continue wearing both versions until June 26 1977. Google Elvis Sahara May 1974 and one can see Elvis wearing a rounded corner signature scarf.

    I have 2 of the keychains and a letter from the company called …If it's jewelry…from Cypress California dated August 1973 asking The Colonel about making the keychains…The Colonel goes onto say that it's one of the nicest he has seen. and that Tom Diskin who runs "Road show Merchandise" would be in contact. I don't think they were offered but just for a short time. I'm blessed to have all these items…even the mirror…LOL….Great show!

    • @collectingtheking
      @collectingtheking  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tom Diskin worked very close with Al Dvorin when it came to the purchasing and distribution of the tour souvenirs. I've seen many letters between Al and Tom regarding concert souvenirs. There were also necklaces made by that same company that were sold at concerts (I forgot to show one - maybe next time) that had the same silver metal picture of Elvis as the key chain also a head shot from 1969. I attended the April 23rd 1976 show in Denver. I bought the big Blue Nail suit poster. I also bought a Elvis felt pennant. They were selling white felt pennants with blue lettering that said " ELVIS, The one and only King of Rock and Roll" with a crown drawn over the "E" of Elvis' name and the picture of Elvis from the Fool album. I have the second tour book you show that came in the Gold Award box set and it does not say "Concert Photo Album" on the front.The 4th concert book you showed was included with the "Elvis In Hollywood" double album sold over TV in 1976 and after he died. My Aunt bought that same concert book in Vegas in 74 so with the Hilton ad in the middle, I think it was a Vegas concert book.
