Tarjumatul Quran - Surah Āl Imran [Family of Imran]: 26 - 42

Verse 26: A long period of time is meant here. It does not mean the 24-hour day known to people. According to the statement of 'The Holy Quran' a day of the Almighty God could equal to as much as a thousand, 5000 and 50000 days. According to the Quranic calculation this reveals the age of the Earth.
Verse 27:...... قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ ['Say 'O Allah Lord of Sovereignty Thou bestowest Sovereignty upon whomsoever Thou pleasest ......'] this verse is a tried and tested remedy in times of strife. This has been mentioned by the Holy Prophet ﷺ. So this prayer should always be supplicated for spiritual progress and to remove worldly obstructions. However this should not be done like a parrot but with the inclination of the heart and engrossment.
Verse 29: The Arabic word ۗ يُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ literally means that 'Allah cautions you against Himself,' which means that He cautions you against taking liberties regarding His commands and dictates.
