If only this amount of dedication and artistry was put into BBC channel identities today. I love the 1991 2s, but I'd really like a modern version, something the 2007 attempt missed out on. And something as far away from Onesness as is humanly possible.
I Silk 2 Ident gave it the look like it really was a sunken ship underwater, I would've never have guessed at the time it was just silk creating this effect
Thank you for this of course. BBC2 really in 1991 went from the worst TWO ident to the best 2 idents they ever had too really of course! Thank you anyway too.
They also did one on this programme about how they did the news in the virtual set - I'd like to see that one, and also how Santa delivers presents... they did that as well.
Maybe its just me. But I feel that the idents which were produced on all four of the mainstream television channels from 1985 onwards, went completely downhill.
These idents just bursted with creativity, so many things you can do with just a simple number. Props to the designers for making these.
Props to Martin Lambie-Nairn R. I. P
The 1990's BBC 2 idents are my favorite, truly brilliant.

Bill Holland I think they use the 1990s idents on 2 now, though...
And they're still in use in 2017, 26 years after they were first introduced!
As of 27 September 2018, the "2" numeral has been retired. R.I.P 2.
Curve is born
UglyDolls Buddies I like the curve more, and I’m not even british!
fuck you curve
@@FancyLines Curve is cool, but it lacks the personality of the old 2.

This film was made in 1995. It is quite amazing.
