Nathaniel Cho is, in my book, the most enjoyable fighter. Every card drawn gives you new options, while other fighters just use their weapons and (sometimes) manage ammo.
I'd love to see some survivor spells for Agnes. Not sure what they'd look like. Maybe spells with a direct horror cost that slightly reduce the test value? Like the level 0 spells are like "->Fight. Take one direct horror: This attack uses Head instead of Fist. The enemy has -1 fight for this skill test." Then the level up could add some thing like "... if you fail, heal 1 horror". This gives a spell to Agnes, that she would use best. In Agnes it guarantees your investigator damage, allows failures to be less painful, and makes tests easier, as fits in survivor. Most survivors aren't looking to use their Head instead of their normal stat though it would probably be ok in a few of the 4 Head survivors to flex with, though still less good because it won't come with the guaranteed damage. Edit: I forgot about Calvin, though that would take Calvin flex to the moon 😂
“You just suck at Arkham.” I’m happy that Justin is at a place in his content creation career where he can give his viewers a piece of his mind. It makes for a very entertaining stream 😂
I played Gloria for 2 scenarios in expert Innsmouth and then swapped her out, because it was ridiculous. We were not playing Arkham, we were playing a walking simulator. I would have liked to see the wilson combat deck :) Same about parallell Skids, because ours were boring as hell and he is benched now.
Maybe a video about the investigators you were excited for before the reveal, but they ended up not living up to your enthusiasm and what you were hoping they would be?
When it comes to Dexter, I think fun one is having playing him was beautifully captured in one scene in Django Unchained. Scene where character played by Christopher Waltz pulls gun out of nowhere and shoots down sheriff. 😂
My experience playing Tony is that he is pretty fun to play, but so boring to play with. I had 4-7 actions per round in my last Tony build and my round where soooo long. It is the same with Kohaku, but not as overdesigned.
Guys. I'm scowering through this Arkham Horror lcg stuff like crazy and i haven't even played a game! I have 2 boxes of the original core set and the old dunwhich box with all mythos. Is it still recommended to grab the revised core set? If not for the improved instructions? What do you guys think 🤔
@@theshepard22 I wouldn't! I'd look at grabbing a new cycle or campaign to play with instead. You'll get more bang for your buck there and more game in the process!
Some of the most fun I’ve ever had with this game is running with a Jenny Barnes deck. I think people bash on her a bit too much, building around someone who just gets resources and then can pay to buff stats she needs is awesome.
13 cards of Sefina’s 33(+5) is 34% of her deck. 10 cards of an ordinary investigator’s 30(+2) is 31% of their deck. And an ordinary investigator initially only gets to see 5 and may erringly mulligan into a weaker hand by accident. And, she comes with 3 Studious. I can understand how Sefina’s mulligan may feel bad when you’re used to swapping out the bad cards in your hand, but I’m struggling to follow how it’s actually worse.
As I say whenever I talk about it, it's not statistically worse, but in all the games I've seen with people playing Sefina, she misses on her opening hand more than she hits. Her style of play is very fragile and breaks easily and that starts with her inability to mulligan. Basically, there's a reason why her power level isn't high and this is one of them.
Everytime i hear talking about "book focused luke" i kust think why? Why would you not use his brain being that its higher and theres stuff like sixth sense to investigate?
@@PlayingBoardGames no like I get that, but wouldn't that be a waste of his card pool? Why struggling to investigate for single clues on a 3 book investigator , seems so much work just to pass a deduction test! (I'm genuinely wondering not trying to be pedantic)
@@DrDifra There's a reason people build him and it's not because it's bad. That's one of the reasons Luke is so strong and widely enjoyed, he has a large variety of viable builds.
@@PlayingBoardGames I see, I just find it hard to see how a book build would beat a brain build with his available pool. Starting from 3 vs 4 . His seeker 2 isn't that much better than Norman lvl 0 seeker for clueving or is it. ? Anyway. I still don't have dream eaters. So eventually I'll have to figure it out by myself when I do get Luke!
@@DrDifra It's definitely not as strong as going hard on his brain score, there's no denying that, but it's very hard for multiple builds to be equally strong. But there are a lot of neat things you can do building around book and Luke's abilities (look at the new card from Hemlock Vale that allows you to investigate all adjacent locations as an example).
Zoey is a "blast to play" tier with ability that gives you 1 resource sometimes, Jenny with +1 resource every round is in a last place with skids. Seems very reasonable
I'm going to reply to this comment in good faith, but it is a bit weird trying to be high and mighty about someone's opinion. The reason why Zoey is a blast to play and Jenny isn't for me is that Zoey gets resource consistency in a class that doesn't have as strong of an access to resources. This allows Zoey to have an easier time playing cards in a class that is filled with a lot of high cost cards. Jenny, on the other hand, has an ability that gives her extra resources in a class that already has the best economy in the game, making the impact smaller. Coupled with this, she has a boring statline that leaves her with the fantasy of jack-of-all-trades, but it just means more work to do the thing that is already more fun to do with other investigators in the same class.
