  • The scanners TSA uses to scan carry-ons at airport checkpoints are nearly a decade old. The future may be taking technology that revolutionized medicine and using it to give screeners a better view of what's in your bag, which could mean more security and less time in line when you fly. Only on "CBS This Morning," Kris Van Cleave offers a preview.

Fast forward to 2020 and 2021. They are already in use as many airports. I love them.

I don't think this information should be readily available to the public. Just gives criminals a tutorial of how the TSA detection process works and will likely result in someone reverse engineering a hack. "Oh, so it detects radio active frequencies? What material can I wrap around the item that I don't want to be detected that reflects radio waves?"

A lot of those materials themselves are usually not allowed so don’t worry. I know what you mean and why it’s a concern but those materials will beep the scanners frequently too.

I like traveling I just dislike the TSA part so when I enter an airport the first thing I try to do is get through security to get it over with then I can relax.
