@@don_wynn I was given a small piece of land in my city and told, "Make a garden."(with $0 budget) This is going in first, and with all those dead trees surrounding it, well....
Memorial Day, 2023 is the build day. I bought the blocks, paid the kid next door to cut one and using it to kick off the start of a Neighborhood Garden
Question : where does the Ashe go? how about putting a coarce screen in the bottom of the stove compartment after breaking the top wall of the bottom brick?
I'd make the chimnies taller and put a few inch and a half holes in the bottom of the burn box since it's already up off the ground. Maximize that rocket effect.
Not trying to be the bearer of bad news here but won’t that block crack at high temps? I made a fire pit with them and they all broke from the high temp.
You aren't. That's why he showed it being built using a hammer in a few seconds of the video. Or, just build it in preparation of the SHTF. Then you can use all the power tools you want.
Stack one more block on top, creating a taller riser, and you'll get closer to having something that functions like a rocket stove. What you show in this video has very few of the characteristics or geometry of a functioning rocket stove.
Why an H block? An H block causes the tinder feed to be at the side. If the sides were opened (making an E) instead of the ends the tinder feed would be oriented differently. Is there an advantage of one over the other?
to everyone who keeps saying "ItS NoT A CinDeR bLoCk ItS CeMeNt!". thats a distinction thats no longer relevant because cinderblock is under the same linguistic umbrella as "kleenex" or "coke". Its a colloquialism meant to refer to a largely standardized object made of nondescript, vaguely durable blocks of calcium based synthetic rock. If you're going to be pedantic, be pedantic well. Its cinder blocks made of cement because "cinderblock" refers to form regardless of chemical composition. Either learn how to be pedantic or stay in your own poorly maintained lane.
Did this and done this only get cracked after few uses not worth it.....best is to use fire brick and it will last for a very loooooong time.....thank you......😊👍
Did you realise that you didnt have to cut the complete section out at the end of the block? if you had stopped at 1:55 that would work and cause a stronger updraft for a cleaner burn, but I assume you was copying someone else so didnt experiment with it
@@don_wynncinder is ash and it’s not economically feasible to produce in large quantities along with the fact that cement blocks are a lot stronger and easier to produce. It’s old technology so when people say “Cinder blocks” they have no idea what they are talking about

Cracking the block looks so satisfying and much fun I gotta try this just for the heck of cracking the block!
Thanks for your time and effort. Beautifully done will give it a try.
Yes. Good enough for me. Will let you know when I build it
Let us know how it turned out 😃

Good job! Thank you for sharing! Take care!😀
Thanks. 👍🏻

if built properly it burns so hot that there is hardly any ash left over
quite interesting to watch
Thank you
DID YOU know they sell blocks with the sides already removed :)))))
Lol. I knew that. But I don’t think they have that in my area
No one sells those in my area either.
Where?
Where do they sell them?
Those aren’t h shaped like the ones he made when he cut them
I love it.
This is the 57.th and the best version i saw. I need tó fix it strong

I would have tried drilling a bunch of holes then tapping it out. That gas stove burner is a nice touch!
I have a question on whether its ok to build on dirt or have some kind of brick etc footer
I think depending on how permanent you want it. With that said I think it’s okay on dirt
@@don_wynn thanks for response!
Excuse one more question? Do you recommend having a fire on both sides at once? I slid a flat cookie sheet between blocks for insulation?
Anywhere, even your living room carpet.
Not trying to be the bearer of bad news here but won’t that block crack at high temps? I made a fire pit with them and they all broke from the high temp.
Reg concrete blocks will crack from the heat
where you going to get power tools in SHTF?
You aren't. That's why he showed it being built using a hammer in a few seconds of the video. Or, just build it in preparation of the SHTF. Then you can use all the power tools you want.
I was just about thinking that it would be easier to use a angle grinder on the blocks, beat me to it

So 1 block higher?
@@jeremysmallwood8631 - Your riser (chimney) should be at least 3 times as high as your fuel intake chamber, to burn more efficiently.

The h is the only way to make a rocket style stove. I can’t imagine any other configuration

Interessant 👍nur die Hintergrundmusik ist grausig und viel zu laut 🤗🙌🙋
Tape isn't needed to knock out end's.
En latam de 4 machetazos le haven un corte cuanticos al block 😂
👍🏻

Great video but music is annoying!
Always cut cement when the wind is blowing in the direction of your neighbours house. Especially if they have washing hung outside.
😂
Music is lame
Did you miss the part about building the rocket stove?
Music is a total pain in the neck.
Just get H block
@@davidwilliams1196 hi, the issue is they don’t carry that at any of my local home improvement stores I’ve checked everywhere so I have to make my own
Here comes another one. It's even better.
Hammer and chisel and a few minutes your done
This is a nice little cook stove, but it is NOT a rocket stove. To be a rocket stove, the air must come from beneath and pass through all of the fuel.
Concert blocks will not with stand the heat. One time rocket stove. And buy your self a man size skil saw
They have not made cinder blocks in 100 years
How come?

This is only a show movie for clicks. Those blocks don't resist the temperature for long time.
Why didnt you just buy a H block?
Hi, it’s not available where I live, I looked all over
😃
get some better music!
might have watched whole thing if it wasn't for the crappy music
I dont think this is a good idea at all. Those blocks are gonna get brittle and crumble fast
1 H Block would be better .
💯%. They just don’t sell the H block in my local home improvement that’s why I had to cut it 😃
Wow…everything done in this video is wrong 😂
Thanks but please don't take 6 minutes to do a 1 minute vid. Just get on with it and let go
The attention span of a goldfish.
What do you think about this brick rocket stove innovation with auto fuel feeder? th-cam.com/video/v_ahLpSiS_o/w-d-xo.html
just buy a grill
