Alllthough using double planked ships, isn't wssn't the VOC the benefitted from the invention of the saw windmill.The industrialized ship building and central banking made the Dutch Republic's European merchant fleet bigger than all other European countries combined. In the high risk high reward trade with the Far East with year long journeys, even the English could compete.
The whole VOC was peanuts to the Dutch Republic anyway, the big money was in the week in week out European bulk shipping.
The VOC was militarily and culturall important, economically hardly. It certainly didn't make the Netherlands wealthy. It was extremely wealthy before the VOC started bringing return on investment and became wealthy again without profitting from Indonesia.

Yes, for a few years. Rotterdam was essentially leveled as well. If you visit now you'll see almost only modern buildings there.
