This video is absolutely fantastic. It gives a simple, completes explanation about the inner workings of these ships. The 3D animation is really fantastic to watch and the actual working of these ships is much more complicated than I ever imagined.
@3DLivingStudio. With around five years of shipping LNG under my belt, you've done a great job of providing an overview of the types of vessels involved in the trade without getting too bogged down with the complexities involved.
@@ΒασίληςΜπαριαμπας-π7π Thank you for contacting me. I did my masters about 30 years ago in Croatia, Dubrovnik and I stopped sailing about 20 years ago. Technology has changed a lot since then so I don't think I would be of much help. I also changed profession away from ships although now and then I like watching maritime related articles. Good luck with your masters 🙂
@@TalooshDaBoss Depends what do you want from working on a ship. Todays ports and terminals are far from the cities and you will have very little time, if at all, to go out sightseeing. You are on a ship to work and the shore leave is a privilage, not a right. Ships are 24/7/365 operations and you need to be available at any time. If your main objective is money, it is very well paid.
I saw one of these gigantic ships in Malta recently and was wondering what it can carry. Now i know. Took some cool pictures of it as well when we sailed past it with our tiny boat. Cool video and thanks for your efforts
This is absolutely fantastic to watch, very detailed. It reminds me back in varsity time where I used to battle with understanding inert gas system.......and captain Johnsen tried all his best to explain but no luck in understanding this. thank you so much.
Great video! I had no idea there’s different types of carriers besides the ones with the large spheres (Moss type) and that they can cool the LNG or use it to fuel the ship.
I lowered the volume down so it doesn't interfere with the narration. I'm afraid that without a little music the video might turn out as boring as a college lecture.
This is a beautiful and simple explanation of how the LNG carriers work. I thank you. so much for all your hard work and I will subscribe to your channel.
Pipelines are better, which is why we don't have LNG trains. (By "better", I mean more efficient and therefore cheaper, while also being safer and less likely to leak - so better for the environment as well)
@@jeffbenton6183 The pipes don't liquefy the gas though. It's easier and safer to transport the gas as a gas at room temp and high pressure rather than a liquid at those extreme cold temperatures.
Very good video, just some operational inaccuracies but overall it was a great value. LNG vapor used for displacing the inert gas (The process is called Gassing up) is entering through the vapor header and not from the spray nozzles ) at least for the membrane type but i doubt that is any different for the moss type.
According to my research, the answer would be NO. Because LNG and LPG are different, and require different designs of cargo tanks. Even though they can look similar from the outside, but LNG tanks have to maintain an extremely cold temperature, but not the LPG tanks.

Lucas....what if the tanks warm up...would they explode??

Agree
If this video is a fantasy for you, it means you haven't finished your kindergarten course.
Have you any ideas what is the connotation of the word "fantastic" in this case ?? @Akol56Peter
Please do how a steel mill works next.
Don’t forget the section on infamous industrial incidents and how OSHA prevents them
I want to see this also
I have never seen such a career before. this is amazing 3d demonstration
I take it you don't live near to the sea lol

5:50 the detailed explanation of the loading is just brilliantly explained.
Watched all your tanker vids in one go. They are great! Good work!
Thank you for showing how complicated loading the tanks is.
For someone who works in the industry, but not in a technical role, thanks for great and easily understood video!
Very well done. LNG ships were the topic of my Master's Degree in marine engineering.
Hello from Greece, i am also working on this topic fo my master too! Would you like to discuss about this?

@@ΒασίληςΜπαριαμπας-π7π we are in the same boat brother.. but I'm doing LPG... But still we have something to share
Do you think it has changed for the better? I am considering going into the field but don't know much yet.

I never saw a Mega LNG carrier compared with Aircraft for size. Yes the big carriers are truly massive. Thanks for producing video.
Thanks for watching!
soon we are fabricating in china shipyard
I never saw real one too…only in picture😂
Nice models, good explanation, no dragging on the video.
10/10 rating
This was very informative! Please do cement, aluminum, and glass factory next!
That's interesting to think about
Every topic covered in this channel is always very well explained. I love learning how things are made, and how they work. Keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
I love your graphics, and especially your calm and informative pacing of the material. Keep up the good work!
Thank you
very well made video, TH-cam needs a lot more of these.

Wow that's a cool perspective to see the size comparison of the gas vs liquid, great video!
This is quite a great series of videos you're producing! Thanks a lot!
Animation creates the next level.
These 3d renderings are ELITE.
Always interesting videos! We want more and more! 🚢🚢🚢

Nicely done man!
Cool Bro
My dad used to work with Natural Gas

Just reminds me of him
I would love to work on a ship...
Thank you for good information.
Another excellent video explaining how liquid gas is transported
Glad it was helpful!
Finally! there's what I need. thanks a lot!

But how do they manage to keep the temperature at -162° C?
Keep it up
