Only about the first one minute and 45 seconds is Heathrow. Much of the rest starting with American Airlines Electra and Trans-Canada Air Lines Viscount looks like JFK (then IDL). A couple of smaller airports later.
Lived by there as a child, planespotted there, worked there for 14 years. Have great affection for Heathrow Airport, particularly in those early years. Thanks for bringing back great memories
Nice footage of an apparently Douglas DC-7C (BOAC?) from the cockpit. I wonder what that American Airlines Lockheed L-188 Electra at 1:42 was doing at Heathrow as AA didn't have any European service at the time.
Excellent video! My late uncle was employed as an avionics engineer on the DC7, and later the Britannia at BOAC. He inspired me to go into aviation, where I enjoyed 30 very happy years in the airline industry. Happy days!
It was only the first two minutes we saw scenes of Aircraft at Heathrow Airport and not much of the Airport it's self, the last four minutes were of a flight from the inside of - I think a Constellation flying over 'I don't know where'?. I do like these old films though. Pity there wasn't a lot of Heathrow footage, 1960 is is particular interest to me.

Spooky music. Suitable for Dr Who?

Thanks for the info, I'm glad this brought back great memories.
Looks like possibly a DC7C flight to Baltimore Maryland
Interesting.

Great stuff! Thank you!
My pleasure.
Great video, the loud music spoils it.
Thanks, yes I agree!
I have manged to change the music by using a TH-cam track, I think that this works better! th-cam.com/video/hkwaW86DbV8/w-d-xo.html
What is the name of the first track on your video?
I don't know the title but it would have been a Royalty free music track from the TH-cam creators library.
@@mackenzierough thank you, appreciate the quick response
@@mackenzierough p.s. excellent video by the way
