    The stalls are the worst not to mention when you’re period starts and the bloating/retaining water weight happens. You’re videos are so helpful. Please continue to post them.

      Something I’ve discovered that helps with bloating is using castor oil…I’ve been using it on my stomach and below my stomach and I see a difference already helping with bloating

    Thank you!! Tomorrow is one month for me, and I wanted to throw myself a pity party because I haven't lost as much as my surgery sisters. But this journey is mine! I can't compare to people who are so different from me! The scale will move when it's ready and I just have to accept it!

    What I'm noticing in A LOT of vsg patients, they are gaining the weight back plus more . Most people get the surgery, and continue eating junk food but expect to get skinny🤔. Nooo you have to change your whole mind set , food habits and all in order for the tool to work.

    I’m on a 3 month stall. It’s frustrating. I’m so used to eating small now. I still have restriction when I try to eat more. I know my calories are under and that’s probably the reason. I also need to drink more water. Coming to my year anniversary soon. I have faith in myself and trusting the process that I’ll break this soon. I’m almost to ultimate goal. Just 10 more pounds.

    at 8 mths out, not only did I hit a stall, I had an 8lb gain in a week. because I track, I knew my body was adjusting. I lost 4 of those pounds overnight and 1 pound the day after. I could feel the fluid I was retaining. This is why I track so I can have data knowing how my body ramps up and ramps down. Getting to know our bodies outside of just the number is really key to maintainig mental sanity. I'm with you on not restarting the liquid stage - that's the equivalent of a crash diet. Why are we going back to the drastic stuff. We can't diet anymore. We don't eat enough to do a calorie deficiency thing.

    This was very informational . I stalled around 3 weeks post op. Now 10 weeks post op and I’m still stalled . Highest weight 277. Pre op 264. Day of surgery 250 and now 237-238. Last week i hit 236 and i felt finally i broke my stall but 2 days later boom 238 again so i put my scale away cuz it’s really starting to bother me that i can’t move past 237. I have lost inches and clothes fit better but the numbers aren’t moving

    I maintained 100lb weightloss, surgery date was 2012. During the pandemic I lost an additional 50lbs and was looking good, I also had another baby in 2019. After my office reopened and I went back to work full time, my weight started going back up and I regained the weight I'd lost during the pandemic. I put myself in a deficit, I work out 3xs a week and I'm focusing on protein and the scale hasn't moved in a month!! I don't wanna do keto again because you're right, the weight comes back so instead I'm doing low carb. Something has got to give! Finally made an appt with my nutritionist.

    It’s happened as soon as I got off the liquid diet which for my program was week 1. We got to bring eggs in week 2.
    But I’m trusting the process!
    I DEFINITELY am fitting clothes differently! Blazers aren’t as tight around my arms. My pants are bagger and I’m using a new hole on my belt buckle.

    You look great and sound strong. I’m waiting on my date. I’m looking for my self esteem back. Nutritionalist frustrates me. One she talks loud like I can’t hear and second I feel like she speaks down to me like my weight gain is all my fought. I’ve never been this large before. I gain weight after each major surgery I’ve had it stuck, stress anxiety bought on depression, I eat only because I have to or headache sets in or cravings. She’s young skinny white looks as if she has no worries in this crazy world. I hate having to meet with her in this journey because I find her so unrelated. She’s had no kids I’m not sure if she is married. I find it difficult to hear her in a positive and supporting way. Your sharing helps give me hope. I like your suggestion of setting eating times to do better at staying consistent as to when I eat. Communications with my body via my mindset to eat better in timing.

    I've been in a stall for Like 4 months 😩... in 3 weeks I'll be 1 year since my surgery

    • @karensandiego
      @karensandiego  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hear that is normal !! Around a year it’s normal to have longer stalls since they say you lose most of your weight in the first year. From what’s I’ve heard it doesn’t mean you’re done losing weight , it just slows down after a year

    I found out by bmi and my daily expenditure even if I ate nothing and just had water based on what my body burns weightloss will be slow 😢 so sad the max I can lose is 1-2 pounds per week unless I workout with the minimal food I'm able to eat working out will just be a recipe for disaster only managing 500 calories per day I tried to go for a long walk and I was super exhausted nearly collapse lol I'm just dreading when my appetite comes bk how I will manage

    What if you are not hungry do force youself

    • @karensandiego
      @karensandiego  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No , if I’m not hungry I don’t eat. Unless I know I didn’t eat anything for the day and then I’ll have something even if I’m not hungry just to make sure I’m getting in proper nutrition. But that doesn’t happen often unless I’m busy.

      I can't really tell if I'm stalling or not but it just doesn't look like I'm losing any rate it's been almost 8 weeks since I have my surgery and it doesn't seem like I'm losing anyway I can't tell if I'm doing anything right I've never been a consistent eater but I do try to get in all the protein that I need in a day but I cannot track my eating I'm eating certain things like oatmeal chicken fish and tuna but at first I don't think I was getting in enough liquids. It's really expensive trying to keep up with the protein shakes and vitamins. I want to eat regular food like I made some enchiladas for my daughter I really wanted to eat some would that be a problem since it's a corn tortilla and I've also been having craving for tacos which I actually ate one I just don't see that as being too fattening can I still eat stuff like that and lose weight as long as I follow my liquids and my protein

      I know it gets harder to lose weight after the first year , but I haven’t got there yet so I don’t really know much . Are you eating over 1200 calories ? It might help to try to decrease it to how much you ate when you were like 4 months post op .
