Social media wasn't so prevalent that people could gain access or share ideas and thoughts. Misinformation wasn't exactly a considered problem nor was 'fake news' a term that was commonly used. Society dictates trends on the internet. Like now; everyone's an expert on Russia/Ukraine, yet it's solely down to getting information from the internet. How many people knew of the war in Ukraine beforehand? Very few knew or cared.

Hi there! Yes, it is in this case :) (I'll just copy paste my answer from another comment here :P ) Technically, because this glacier breaking up, actually means it' growing in size. Let me clarify here: This glacier is unique, as it grows in the middle of a lake, towards the shore, creating a natural dam between the 2 sections of the lake. As the glacier grows, it loses the last bits of it, closer to the edge. This glacier in particular, is one of the few ones, that when it breaks like this, it's actually a good thing. It's one of the few glaciers in the south that is not retreating, but growing strong (unlike others like the Viedma and Uppsala glacier, that has been retreating for years)
