I can think of seldom a better fit than Dagoth Ur reciting such texts as given by Lovecraft. I've read through the Mythos several times, but done in this fashion it seems fresh.
I would like to hear a Conan the Barbarian story read by Dagoth Ur. One of my favorites is Beyond the Black River. If it's not too much to ask I would like to request that one.
You both are in for a treat. I've been going down a rabbit hole for the last 4 days since reading this. I did want another voice besides Dagoth Ur for Conan. Unfortunately though, Ulfric Stormcloak isn't possible because of the way he pronounces his 'R's not coming across as authentic. I've got another familiar voice from Skyrim that hopefully can do it justice. I do want to do a dagoth edit for it too of course. If there's any other Conan stories - or stories in general please let me know.
@@Alaylex "tower of the elephant" and "red nails" are two of my favorites. "The Mirrors of tuzune thune" is also by Robert Howard. its about Kull of Atlantis; basically Howards first attempt at a barbarian character before hitting gold with Conan.
@@grimwaldsilverpipe4326 absolutely! It helps that DD is heavily inspired by Lovecraft, so the voice and overall aesthetic were basically crafted from the ground up to be narrating this kind of material
At my word! The Dagoth Ur reading is Delicious~! I am 73 Years of Oldness, and love Lovecraft readings, (I am Legally Blind) and waste lots of Social Security income on Amazon Prime to Read 4+me books I love. Imagine Dagoth Ur reading something really awful, like fanfiction. Like "My Immortal" grade fanfiction. I'd probably crap myself if he read "My Inner Life". Thanks, this is awesome!
no hp lovecraft was famously Racist in his use of Mongrel to refer to peasants natives and uneducated this shouldn't be seen as Racism , since Queer meant Strange , and Gay means happy , so it cannot be taken literally , it should be seen as a historic view of how novelas were written in 1924
When I heard him say “mongrel” I remembered it was Dagoth Ur reading it 😂
I'm glad I voted on the rain, PERFECT my friend
You can hear it sometimes when Dagoth Ur says "dogs" in his reading of "At The Mountains of Madness".
N'wahs!

Your videos cure my insomnia. Thank you so much.
Same, I listen to these every night to fall asleep
Somebody needs to do this, but with the guy in darkest dungeon
Just when I thought these could not get better, his voice would be perfect!

His voice sounds different because of no accent but Wayne June actually does do Lovecraft audio books I think that's how the devs found him
He already did it himself. th-cam.com/play/PLa2mOZh4Px91omLNEX51D6NasgaD4Nze1.html&si=HzJSQrQPx1KOqV50
