I kind of wrote them off as a novelty until I saw them in concert with Dethklok this fall. You cannot describe the energy they bring to the stage. Their show is probably the most fun I've ever had at a metal concert. Incredible performance.
Yup, I originally went on a lark to make my friend from Ukraine happy, and walked out wondering if it was the best show I'd ever seen. And I've toured and seen literally 1000s. There's just something amazingly fun and badass about Babymetal. Took my old bandmate to see them on Tuesday and he had a similar reaction, like he was fucking into it by the halfway mark, and couldn't believe how amazing and fun it was. This song actually wasn't my thing on round 1, but the more I hear it the more I just get hyped. The dancing is off the charts with this track.
Su and Moa have performed in front of tens of millions of metalheads, on the biggest festival stages and many collaborations with metal legends. Their metal credentials are only debated by people who can’t do anything. Stretching a stale genre in a new direction takes balls, and they achieved it ✊

As much as they killed it in the earlier years, it's so nice to see them rocking it as grown adults. They just seem so much more grounded and in their element.

Listening to this I was thinking how much they have evolved and yet retained that element that makes them who they are. Although you can't really argue opinion with people. First saw them in philly with dethklok, i was blown away. Before then i never thought i would go out of the country to see any band or show. Legend MM was incredible.. i dont think ill see a performance that great ever again. One of the best nights of my life. BabyMetal has been, and is such a breathe of fresh air to me. I love all metal, but there is definetely something special about them. Keep doing what you do, you're amazing.
I appreciate the fact that Momo was the center for a moment. It proves that her hard work and powerful resilience against angry fans at the beginning has finally paid off. Amazing girl.

They wanted her to stand out for a reason, and plus, momo has kabuki theatre training, and I don't think moa has that, so momo would of obviously been a better fit
Seeing Momometal finally get to dance and sing her heart out is amazing! I remember when she said she wanted to be part of babymetal and look at her now! Its great to see her welcomed in and see her have fun!
Just saw them two days ago on Monday during the 2023 UK/EU tour (in Brussels). I think we can confidently say Metali is going to be a show staple now, like Megitsune. The crowd goes wild for it and I don't think many bands can get a whole venue to sit on the floor and play along. Babymetal is truly something else and I love them dearly for it!
I loved everything about this song, how they incorporated traditional Japanese instruments, the choreography, the effects, the energy this song brings, and of course the versatility of Su's voice has only grown. It's like the aging of fine wine. Been a fan of Baby Metal and seen how they've transformed over the years. I like how they're finding their identify with their songs and making their own mark in music. Was not expecting a feat of Tom Morello either. Can't wait to see what they come out with next, keep it up Baby Metal!!

Saw them recently live during their US tour- it was awesome! I felt so privileged to see them here, and in a smaller arena than they would have in Japan, so that I could afford to be closer to the stage. ❤
As I was driving today, Tom Morello played Metali on his show on Sirius XM. So cool to hear Babymetal playing on the radio - I think this is the first time I heard a non-English song of any kind played on that channel. Really proud of them and kudos to Tom for promoting them!

Okay, I'll admit I stayed away from that band cause it looked just like jpop with saturated guitars. But I've been intrigued lately by that band so this morning, I decided to give it a chance. There's no coming back, I'm gonna listen to everything they do and probably on a loop for the next few weeks

Just when I thought my mind couldn't be blown any more by your amazing talents, you do! After hearing The Other One, I felt like the quality bump meant SU was about to come out of her Chrysalis. Their production is on another level... the guitars, drums, bass sound incredible, everyone involved in this is extremely talented and musically gifted, and then the vocals. Su-metal just keeps getting better, she is an exceptional vocalist and can really nail notes for fun. Every time I watch Babymetal I just smile for the length of the song, and then realise I've just been grinning like an idiot the whole time. They are just so talented and fun. Love them.

Ok I admit it. I have no idea how many times I have now watched this! First time was awesome but I am still seeing and hearing new stuff with each play. It's heavy and catchy with great riffs. The instrumentals are insane as ever, loving the Japanese instruments all the way through, the video is perfect, the choreography is superb and Su has upped the ante big time with her vocals - metal screams and all! Didn't think they could get any better? WRONG!!!!! Only missing the "are you readyyyy!" growl from Momo!

I discovered this band by listening to them Had TH-cam running on auto play on my PC and the window reduced down so I could surf the net reading. After 3 or 4 songs had played that’s when I had a look at who was playing this absolute wicked wildest music, my jaw dropped and I thought (also exclaimed out loud)”what the f**k, holy f**king shit, you got to be kidding me, this is some sort of mixed up hash of music audio and a cute Japanese girl pop act video” Google do your thing and after a extensive search, lots of reading while more of the music videos played (still reduced window) I was hooked I’m a Metal fan since I heard Iron Maiden’s “Run to the Hills” back in 1982 (I was 13 and started making my own choices in music then) and Heavy Metal was it. Now at 54, Metal has evolved so much I still find my self tapping my foot, fingers drumming away, air guitar and the natural head bobbing towards the sounds I am hearing. BABYMETAL instinctively set those motions off, just the sound was enough Yes I will admit the visuals make me feel like I’ll be called a dirty old pervert for liking them, well I’m too old for that but not that old to still listen. BABYMETAL is a Metal band and that’s all my ears need I’ll download the albums and listen to my heart’s content, I don’t care that it’s fronted by 3 young girls who dance and do the pop thing, it’s the sound that blasts through my AirPods into my ears that I like. I just added them to the ever increasing list of Metal, Punk, Thrash, Hardcore, Reggae, Ska, Jazz, Funk, Blues, Rock (from soft to hard), Classical, Opera (yes I do listen to it thanks too my dear departed father, a mechanic, who listen to it in his shed while working on cars), Folk, Country, World, Latin, Soul, Progressive (any for of it), Electronic, Instrumental, oh you get the idea I love music, just not so much Top 40 pop stuff as that’s just completely made to earn money and has just a lack of passion that real music has. Rap (old school and the stuff like Rage against the Machine) I like but some of the modern hip hop is just straight out dull and lacks a feel (completely studio produced, making people with no talent sound good.) That stuff don’t require the vocals to have any sort of tune, sense of time, emotional connection to the listener, but after editing, auto-tune, pro-tools and long hours of fine tuning by a professional, a no talent hack becomes a megastar. (When it is stated that it has horrible vocals, the defensive ploy is they are a poet and they are make rhymes. So does 99.99% of all song’s vocals that can sing in tune (old school hip hop had attitude and emotional deliverance when preformed, today’s Hip-Hop is a monotone of emotionless words strung together with nothing more, no metaphorical meanings, emotional connection or the sweet tempo changes that the pioneers of Hip-hop had.) but I digress BABYMETAL has feel, a good solid feel of Metal and thank goodness for Key Kobayashi a.k.a “Kobametal” for the crazy idea of Kawaii metal. Mixing Metal and Pop (I won’t call it J-Pop, because it doesn’t matter what country it comes from, it’s Pop Music) Ok he was trying create a visual mix with his idea (achieved) but he didn’t realise he had created a sound as well, the raw energy of the band mixed with vocals that are musically in tune, pleasing and very nice to the ear. Replacing the “you must of gargled broken glass” vocal sounds or the “power house screams of the high pitched” that are mixed with in tune to semi in tune vocals. I’ll say it again BABYMETAL is Metal and worth listening too.

I love how raw and unprocessed Su's vocals sound. It really fits with the traditional elements of the song.

Just when you think you know the direction the band is going - they slip one in from left field that rips your ears off!! First off - A big thank you to the Babymetal team, and Tom Morello for producing this gem!! Not sure when it was written, but to produce this while out on a world tour, with all the demands that consists of, is just unbelievable. Their production is on another level... the guitars, drums, bass sound incredible, everyone involved in this is extremely talented and musically gifted, and then the vocals. Su-metal just keeps getting better, she is an exceptional vocalist and can really nail notes for fun.
Every time I watch Babymetal I just smile for the length of the song, and then realise I've just been grinning like an idiot the whole time. They are just so talented and fun. Love them.

Ok I admit it. I have no idea how many times I have now watched this! First time was awesome but I am still seeing and hearing new stuff with each play. It's heavy and catchy with great riffs. The instrumentals are insane as ever, loving the Japanese instruments all the way through, the video is perfect, the choreography is superb and Su has upped the ante big time with her vocals - metal screams and all! Didn't think they could get any better? WRONG!!!!! Only missing the "are you readyyyy!" growl from Momo!

I discovered this band by listening to them
Had TH-cam running on auto play on my PC and the window reduced down so I could surf the net reading.
After 3 or 4 songs had played that’s when I had a look at who was playing this absolute wicked wildest music, my jaw dropped and I thought (also exclaimed out loud)”what the f**k, holy f**king shit, you got to be kidding me, this is some sort of mixed up hash of music audio and a cute Japanese girl pop act video”
Google do your thing and after a extensive search, lots of reading while more of the music videos played (still reduced window) I was hooked
I’m a Metal fan since I heard Iron Maiden’s “Run to the Hills” back in 1982 (I was 13 and started making my own choices in music then) and Heavy Metal was it.
Now at 54, Metal has evolved so much I still find my self tapping my foot, fingers drumming away, air guitar and the natural head bobbing towards the sounds I am hearing.
BABYMETAL instinctively set those motions off, just the sound was enough
Yes I will admit the visuals make me feel like I’ll be called a dirty old pervert for liking them, well I’m too old for that but not that old to still listen.
BABYMETAL is a Metal band and that’s all my ears need
I’ll download the albums and listen to my heart’s content, I don’t care that it’s fronted by 3 young girls who dance and do the pop thing, it’s the sound that blasts through my AirPods into my ears that I like.
I just added them to the ever increasing list of Metal, Punk, Thrash, Hardcore, Reggae, Ska, Jazz, Funk, Blues, Rock (from soft to hard), Classical, Opera (yes I do listen to it thanks too my dear departed father, a mechanic, who listen to it in his shed while working on cars), Folk, Country, World, Latin, Soul, Progressive (any for of it), Electronic, Instrumental, oh you get the idea
I love music, just not so much Top 40 pop stuff as that’s just completely made to earn money and has just a lack of passion that real music has.
Rap (old school and the stuff like Rage against the Machine) I like but some of the modern hip hop is just straight out dull and lacks a feel (completely studio produced, making people with no talent sound good.)
That stuff don’t require the vocals to have any sort of tune, sense of time, emotional connection to the listener, but after editing, auto-tune, pro-tools and long hours of fine tuning by a professional, a no talent hack becomes a megastar. (When it is stated that it has horrible vocals, the defensive ploy is they are a poet and they are make rhymes. So does 99.99% of all song’s vocals that can sing in tune (old school hip hop had attitude and emotional deliverance when preformed, today’s Hip-Hop is a monotone of emotionless words strung together with nothing more, no metaphorical meanings, emotional connection or the sweet tempo changes that the pioneers of Hip-hop had.) but I digress
BABYMETAL has feel, a good solid feel of Metal and thank goodness for Key Kobayashi a.k.a “Kobametal” for the crazy idea of Kawaii metal.
Mixing Metal and Pop (I won’t call it J-Pop, because it doesn’t matter what country it comes from, it’s Pop Music)
Ok he was trying create a visual mix with his idea (achieved) but he didn’t realise he had created a sound as well, the raw energy of the band mixed with vocals that are musically in tune, pleasing and very nice to the ear.
Replacing the “you must of gargled broken glass” vocal sounds or the “power house screams of the high pitched” that are mixed with in tune to semi in tune vocals.
I’ll say it again
BABYMETAL is Metal and worth listening too.
