Craig Fuller was the PERFECT person to front the band after Lowell died. Great voice, great guitar, incredible song writing! Thank you Mr. Fuller for your wonderful contributions to the FEATS! I wish there was more of you with them!
I missed this by 26 years . But I was there this year and caught Wide Spread Panic and Dave Mathews , Sonny Landreth . I've seen Little Feat up in Rochester NY 3 times when I lived there . One of the best bands I've ever heard .
One of my favourite tracks from the Let it Roll album and great to see it performed live. I loved the whole album and have spent many hours listening and playing drums along with it. This LP really influenced me so much with my drumming so, thanks so much Ritchie Hayward, your style, chops and dynamics were fantastic. Heck, just looked him up and I didn't realise that he had died 9 years ago in 2010. In shock now reading that, damn!
@@jonhandley1 I'm a guitarplayer but also arrange and produce my own music. As interested in learning, and also got born with some skills I get, I listen to how the music is arranged and "produced", can't stop it you know. So, drumming... I once saw a writing in a music paper, someone had gone through the huge task to measure how some drummers was drumming to the "perfect" drummer (on the right measure of a drum machine) and what the drummers reputation was (like groovy or such). I remember that two drummers stood out as groovy and made a special impact of the listeners: Richie Hayward and Jim Keltner. Fun thing was that one of them, I don't remember who, was slightly "before" in the groove and the other was the opposite, slightly after the groove. And this is a thing that I've used in most of my own recordings, even with drum machines, to let the different instruments differ a bit to the measure, it makes it groove!
I saw Little Feat in April 1989 at The Scope in Norfolk, VA. Also appearing were Melissa Etheredge and The Robbin Thompson Band. It was the WNOR 20th Anniversary Show. Bruce Hornsby came out and joined Little Feat on the finale.
Yep, he was very groovy. Met him and Little Feat in Denmark 2001, he had drum clinic couple of hours before the show at The Train in Aarhus, he played some stuff from his time with Robert Plant, it was awsome! The concert same night was outrageous; example Skin it back was transformed into Day at the dog races (Richie was apparently not told, but found out in 2 seconds).
Little known fact is they're one of the hardest working bands since the 80's I can think of. I've had the pleasure of hanging out with the band in Jamaica 2003, 4 and 5. Cool guys and total pro's all of them. Richie was the heartbeat, Not many people can groove like him and keep it up for 3 hours every night.
This looks like it was a great show. Jazzfest is always a treat, especially when Little Feat is playing! Going to see Little Feat Saturday night at Talking Stick. Looking forward to hearing this tune!
@awrobinson - missed this one, but caught the Reunion - What a treat! The Jazzfest crowd is really into it - just like in '88 and everytime they play New Orleans. Great post!
caught the Warner shows and the triumphant return of Feat, after seeing them as Warren zevon's Band, and Bluesbusters with Catfish Hodge and they were just phenominal....Let It Roll had the same production quality and song writing that Down on he farm with ted Templeman producing.....I felt blessed to have seen them and even shared the stage with them with my own band
Man that album let it roll was absolutely fantastic that lineup they had there were smoking Lil George little feet different error but I mean I never thought they could top that but when they put let it roll out damn that was something else I saw them tour doing this album they were phenomenal saw them not long ago not the same
Great JOB!!!!! Outdoor music is very difficult to record. Great sound and video.... I will assume you had access to the mixing console???? thanks for capturing that ONE TIME event!!!!
Our little community band in St. Louis, the Voodoo Players, does a Feats night annualy and plays this song! Are we the only ones in the galaxy that cover this song? Probably so!
One of the best kick-ass live bands ever. If Billy is gonna stay a Doobie, how about Bruce Hornsby on keyboard and Craig Fuller mixing it up with Paul?
This whole album is classic!

I'm also a drummer. He's in my top line of drummers. Bonham, Purdue and Hayward. I saw these guys play in 1990 in London. I was blown away by Richie!
