    My AR15 loves the ADI (same ammo) 55gr blitzkinks. Shoots under 1" 5 shot groups at 100 yards no problem. It's my go to ammo and has nice brass for reloading.

    ...love the 55grn Sierra Blitzing in my 1:9 twist 22" Lithgow but for longer range try the 69grn Sierra Matching - just reloaded some with H322 and they were 0.3" @100 yards.

    l have the same rifle. Very happy with it, silk smooth bolt. l reduced the trgger pull. Only problem is the mag. The third round does not feed properly with a full magazine. l heard this is a common problem

    • @southernstarreview
      @southernstarreview  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes. I also have the same issue, as you can see happened in the video.
      There is a fix for this, I will put a video up later.
      If you buy an extra mag it is worse.
      But all in all, a great rifle

      Did you post the video about the fix. I took my rifle to the range and it was pretty frustrating. Had lots of problems. The bolt is so smooth that it feels the cartridge has not been chambered, working the bolt you find out there is a round in the chamber. Thinking of getting a control feed action. Anyway, l changed the trigger spring. Trigger now breaks at 1.2 pounds. Will take it to the range to check it out.

    One Thing I learned with all these Caliber issues and Debates, test. Etc. . Unless Your match shooting for money. IT ALL don't matter. I tossed that caliber debate out a long time ago. After 30 years of killing everything that moves with almost Every caliber and Archery. The Thermal Shock form the smallest hunting Calibers will Drop every big game animal and Sea creature with the correct Shot placement . Number 1 thing. Shot placement is far more the key, Not stopping power. Can you kill it. Effectively and efficiently and by hand if need be. Can you Hit the heart or correct place on head at a normal distant, . Range and Not get hyped up and Miss. Can you remain calm and not miss. Standing, Siting, offhand. In a tree, over a ditch across a valley on a rolling boat, While a moose, Bear, Shark charge at you.. You Can you kill it with anything.

      Gday mate your absolutely right shot placement is key. The only thing id say is that when your shooting a mob of pigs on the run in thick wooded country, then i would rather the stopping power of a larger caliber rather than the possibility of a wounded animal disappearing in to the scrub. Cheers shaino

      @@southernstarreview shot placement is EVERYTHING. i'd rather take a 186mm tank shell to the foot than a .177 air to the base of the skull.

    You reckon this would make a good platform for longish range? Just did some of that in the States and really liked it. I know 223 doesn't stretch out really far but be might be a cost effective way to get back into shooting.

    • @southernstarreview
      @southernstarreview  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      What distance are you thinking?

    • @FoxMcScrooge
      @FoxMcScrooge หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@southernstarreview I was thinking maybe 1000m max. Not even sure where I could shoot that far to be honest. I can shoot out to about 300m max at ranges anywhere near me. All the dudes in the States are telling me to go 300 Winmag or 338 Lapua but they all shoot out over 1000 yards and have plenty of places to do it. To me it makes more sense to go 223 or 308.

    Can you shoot 5.56 ammo ?

    • @southernstarreview
      @southernstarreview  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Roland. Not really. Due to the high pressures of 5.56 loads, shooting 5.56 in a rifle chambered in .223 Rem is super dangerous and can damage your rifle.
      However, in a rifle chambered in 5.56, can shoot .223 Rem no worries.
      Hope that helps.
